Claudio Castagnoli Addresses William Regal’s Future with AEW

Claudio Castagnoli has spoken about the reports regarding William Regal’s wrestling status as he is expected to leave AEW to make a return to WWE.

Castagnoli became a member of the Blackpool Combat Club at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door when he replaced Bryan Danielson against Zack Sabre Jr and made his promotional debut. Regal founded BCC alongside Jon Moxley and Danielson.

Regal is reportedly leaving AEW and returning to WWE as his AEW contract reportedly expired in December, where he will be working in a backstage role again.

In an interview with Joey Hayden of Dallas Morning News, Castagnoli was asked about the current status of the BCC and Regal.

“I mean, I guess we have to … we have to wait and see. You know, we’re still talking, I think we have to have a little group meeting to figure out what’s next, or if there’s a next. So yeah, I’ll leave it at that,” he said.

Claudio also talked about what it means to him to work with Regal since he arrived in AEW. He said he never stopped learning from Regal and he was the reason he got into WWE in the first place. He was also the man to end Regal’s in-ring career.

Claudio is set to challenge Chris Jericho for the ROH World Title at ROH Final Battle this Saturday.

  • AEW Files to Trademark the Phrase “Hat Trick”

AEW Files to Trademark the Phrase “Hat Trick”

AEW filed a new trademark application last week. On Wednesday, November 30, filed an application on the phrase, “Hat Trick.” These trademark applications often provide a glimpse what wrestling companies and wrestlers have planned in the coming months.

According to the United States Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO) database, the Attorney of Record for the live trademark is Bradley M. Stohry.

The Goods and Services usage description for the Hat Trick trademarks includes:

    • Entertainment services in the nature of live wrestling performances; Entertainment services in the nature of production of television shows and multimedia entertainment content featuring wrestling programs and events;
    • Entertainment services, namely, live appearances by a group or individual wrestlers;

Hat Trick is a phrase that means, “three similar successes” and is often used in sports when three goals are scored in a game/match.

AEW has utilized sports-related phrases for its special events, including Grand Slam and The First Dance, so it could be an event name. There’s also Jake Hager of the Jericho Appreciation Society, who really likes his purple hat.

  • Former WWE Star Claims William Regal Regretted Signing with AEW due to “Maturity Issues” in Management

Former WWE Star Claims William Regal Regretted Signing with AEW due to “Maturity Issues” in Management

Former WWE NXT GM William Regal is reportedly returning to WWE following a short stint with AEW.

Regal formed the Blackpool Combat Club with Jon Moxley and Bryan Danielson. It appeared that AEW was onto something with the group but the booking quickly made them an afterthought. Claudio Castagnoli and Bryan Danielson chased after the ROH Championship and have been feuding with Jericho Appreciation Society for an eternity while Moxley was doing his own thing as AEW World Champion.

William played a prominent role in the AEW World Championship match at Full Gear. Regal betrayed Jon Moxley and slid him the brass knuckles. MJF would then betray William Regal on this past Wednesday’s edition of Dynamite and bashed him in the back of the head with the brass knuckles.

There have been reports of AEW talent questioning the decision to have Regal be the focal point of the AEW World Championship storyline when it was known he was leaving the company.

EC3 Claims William Regal Regretted Joining AEW

Former WWE Superstar EC3 joined former WWE writer Vince Russo and Dr. Chris Featherstone for the latest edition of Sportskeeda Wrestling’s The Wrestling Outlaws Show.

During the conversation, EC3 stated that Regal’s value is in a developmental system where the talent listen and that was not the case in AEW.

He’s too valuable to not be in a developmental system. And I know we can say ‘oh he’s there mentoring the people in AEW’, the thing is they are not listening.

The talent doesn’t listen to veterans for the most part. The ones that do are knocking him in the back of the head with brass knuckles and are the World Champion.

The other ones are doing moves all the way from Dynamite to Rampage to Dark, and nobody cares.

His value is grooming future generations in NXT, like I think he loved it there. I think he was super comfortable. If people are paid money to listen to him, well maybe they will actually listen to him.

EC3 added that he heard William Regal immediately regretted joining All Elite Wrestling once he signed with the promotion. The former WWE star claimed that he heard those words verbatim.

The word was he said ‘I immediately regret this decision, there’s very much a maturity issue here within management’. Verbatim.

  • Jade Cargill Lands Role in “Huge” Animated Show

Jade Cargill Lands Role in “Huge” Animated Show

AEW’s TBS Champion Jade Cargill is ready to showcase her talents outside the world of professional wrestling with a “huge” animated show.

Taking to Twitter, Cargill shared the news of her upcoming voice-over role.

Cargill did not name the show or when fans will get to hear her in the unnamed role.

    Voice Over Work

Bret Hart berates Mr. Burns in a 1997 episode of The Simpsons after the evil billionaire loses his fortune.

Cargill is the latest wrestler to provide voice-over work for a non-wrestling project but is far from the first.

Bret ‘Hitman’ Hart voiced an animated version of himself in The Simpsons episode ‘The Old Man and the Lisa,’ buying the home of Mr. Burns and picking a fight with neighbor ‘The Shrieking Sheik.

Fellow WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley lent his voice to his role as ‘The Boulder’ in Avatar: The Last Airbender, playing an earth-bending wrestler who competes in tournaments.

Even WWE’s Tribal Chief Roman Reigns has done voice-over work, playing the Kizin, the antagonist of one episode of the Disney show, Elena of Avalor.

Reigning AEW TNT Champion and Ring of Honor World Television Champion will voice King Shark in the upcoming DC Comics video game ‘Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.’

    Jade Outside of Wrestling

This voice-over role is a big score for Cargill, who is continuing to make her name outside of wrestling.

In recent weeks, Cargill has had a (mostly online) feud with rapper Bow Wow, and the Baddies confronted him during a fan event.

Some believe that this will culminate in a match between Cargill and Bow Wow, given that the latter has expressed an interest in wrestling in the past.

  • Dustin Rhodes Announces 2023 Will be His Final Year in Wrestling

Dustin Rhodes Announces 2023 Will be His Final Year in Wrestling

AEW’s Dustin Rhodes is ready to call it a career after announcing that next year will be his last as a wrestler.

Rhodes joined the wrestling industry in 1998 as part of Championship Wrestling from Florida but would debut for WCW in December of that same year.

Rhodes has also competed for WWE, where is best known for his envelope-pushing role as Goldust, and currently competes for All Elite Wrestling.

    Retirement

At the recent Blizzard Brawl tapings, Rhodes announced that 2023 will be his last year in wrestling.

This news comes after Rhodes teased his retirement in October, saying that time comes for all of us.

Last month, the former WWE Intercontinental Champion stated that he has about a year left on his contract with AEW.

    Dustin Rhodes: A Retrospective

Years before becoming Goldust in the WWF, Rhodes worked for the promotion under his real name from 1990 to 1991, where he was aligned on-screen with his father Dusty.

It wouldn’t be until 1995 that Rhodes would don his iconic face paint, wig, and bodysuit, but would occasionally ditch the persona in the promotion.

In 1999, Rhodes would return to WCW, this time as ‘Seven’ but would immediately break character to bash the character.

Returning to the WWF in 2002, Rhodes would remain for a few more years before joining TNA Wrestling as ‘Black Reign.’

It was Rhodes’ final return to WWE in 2013 that would see him team with his brother Cody, winning the WWE Tag Team Championships from The Shield in October of that year.

In addition to competing for AEW, Rhodes also works as a coach backstage for the promotion.

  • Juice Robinson Officially a Member of the AEW Roster

Juice Robinson Officially a Member of the AEW Roster

On last night’s AEW Rampage, a familiar face issued a challenge to ROH Television and AEW TNT Champion, Samoa Joe.

In a promo that aired, “Rock Hard” Juice Robinson reminded everyone that he is a three-time IWGP US Champion. He got straight to the point of issuing a challenge to Samoa Joe for the ROH belt next Saturday at Final Battle.

“You know I’ve done a lot in Japan, but I need to prove myself in America and if I’m going to be a superstar on television, then I need that ROH Television title around my waist. Joe, you may be the ‘King of TV’ now…kings get dethroned.”

As they were going into the main event for All-American Championship between Orange Cassidy and QT Marshall, Excalibur confirmed that Robinson is an official member for the AEW roster.

    Juice Robinson Outside of AEW

    Good Brothers vs FinJuice

AEW was rumored to have signed Robinson last month, with the company having interest in him for several months. He was last seen in the company where he wrestled then AEW World Champion Jon Moxley in a World Eliminator Championship match. Robinson lost and therefore did not earn a shot at the title.

Last year, Robinson and his former tag team partner, David Finlay spent time in IMPACT Wrestling. Under the tag team name, FinJuice (given to them when they were in NJPW’s World Tag League), they feuded with Good Brothers. FinJuice held the IMPACT Tag Team titles for two months.

Robinson is currently feuding with Blake Christian, who is also signed to AEW under the ROH brand, in NJPW Strong. He joined Bullet Club in May at NJPW’s Wrestling Dontaku show when he showed up after allegedly leaving the company to attack Hiroshi Tanahashi.

Robinson was briefly in ROH from 2018-2019 where he was the in Lifeblood. The faction featured Finlay, Bandido, Tracy Williams, Tenille Dashwood, and Mark Haskins.

Final Battle will take place in Arlington, Texas on Saturday, December 10 at 4 PM ET.

  • What Happened with the House of Black After AEW Rampage?

What Happened with the House of Black After AEW Rampage?

The House of Black proved that they are back and better than ever after this week’s AEW Rampage went off the air.

In September, both Malakai Black and Buddy Matthews announced they were taking separate breaks from AEW, which some believed at the time was a sign of a WWE return.

Instead, both men returned on the November 23, 2022, episode of AEW Dynamite, realigning with Julia Hart and Brody King.

    After Rampage

In the main event of last night’s Rampage, AEW All-Atlantic Champion Orange Cassidy retained his title in a Lumberjack match against QT Marshall.

A huge brawl broke between the lumberjacks after the match and when the lights went out, the House of Black emerged and cleared the ring of the performers.

After the show, the beatdown continued, with Brandon Cutler, who was taping the action on his Cutler Cam being singled out by the stable.

Brody King attacked Cutler from behind and put him through the table with a huge powerbomb.

Black told the fallen Cutley that while he has no problem with him, he has problems with those he associates with.

The trio walked away with Excalibur noting on commentary that the House of Black has declared war on AEW.

The House of Black Vs. The Elite

Black’s reference to those Culter associates with is a clear nod to the Elite, and the tease of a potential feud between the two stables.

Like the House of Black, the Elite only returned to AEW programming recently after being suspended for their roles in the All Out backstage fight.

Right now, Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks are 2-1 down in a best-of-seven series with AEW Trios Tag Champions Death Triangle.

  • Samoa Joe Title Defense Set for ROH Final Battle, Title Matches Announced for Next Week’s AEW Dynamite

Samoa Joe Title Defense Set for ROH Final Battle, Title Matches Announced for Next Week’s AEW Dynamite

Ring of Honor Final Battle will air on December 10th from College Park Center in Arlington, Texas.

Chris Jericho will defend the ROH Championship against Claudio Castagnoli in the main event. Mercedes Martinez will defend the ROH Women’s Championship against Athena at the PPV.

Another title match was added to the card during tonight’s edition of AEW Rampage. Former IWGP Champion Juice Robinson appeared in a video promo during Rampage and challenged ROH TV Champion Samoa Joe. Juice noted that Joe may be the “King of Television” for now but he will dethrone him.

Samoa Joe captured the TNT Championship as well at AEW Full Gear on November 19th. Former TNT Champion Wardlow interrupted Joe on this past Wednesday’s edition of Dynamite and warned him that he’s coming for the TNT Championship. It was also announced that Samoa Joe will be defending the TNT Championship against Darby Allin on next week’s Dynamite.

Renee Paquette interviewed AEW Tag Team Champions The Acclaimed tonight on Rampage. They said they wanted to fight the best and the crowd chanted “FTR!”. Gunn Club, Jeff Jarrett, Sonjay Dutt, Satnam Singh, and Jay Lethal interrupted but The Acclaimed ignored them. ROH Tag Team Champions FTR made their way to the ring and shook The Acclaimed’s hands. It was later announced on Rampage that The Acclaimed will defend the AEW Tag Team Championships next week on Dynamite against FTR.

    Updated ROH Final Battle card

    • ROH Women’s Championship: Mercedes Martinez (c) vs. Athena
    • ROH TV Championship: Samoa Joe (c) vs. Juice Robinson
    • ROH Pure Championship: Daniel Garcia (c) vs. Wheeler Yuta
    • ROH Championship: Chris Jericho (c) vs. Claudio Castagnoli
  • AEW Talent Questioning Recent Tony Khan Booking Decision (Report)

AEW Talent Questioning Recent Tony Khan Booking Decision (Report)

AEW talent have reportedly been left scratching their heads over a recent booking decision made by Tony Khan.

At AEW Full Gear, William Regal turned on Jon Moxley and the Blackpool Combat Club to help MJF become the new AEW World Champion.

During this week’s Dynamite, MJF turned on Regal, and mocked the British wrestling veteran for making a deal with ‘the Devil.’

    Questions

This week’s attack on Regal is being seen by many as the way he’ll be written off of TV, and the former King of the Ring is not expected to return.

It has been reported that Regal’s contract is expected to expire soon, which is something those high up in the company have known for some time.

In the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer questioned why Tony Khan put so much emphasis on Regal’s turn and alliance with MJF, knowing he would be leaving soon.

According to Meltzer, several others in AEW have also questioned the decision of making a big deal about Regal and not having a big payoff.

“I can’t understand putting so much heel steam to the point of being the point man in stealing the title on Regal, when it was known by the key people by this point he was gone in a few weeks. I mean, story or not, the guy was leaving. A lot of talent has questioned that in the same way now that everyone knows he’s leaving.”

    Dave Meltzer.

Regal is expected to return to WWE when the time is right after being released in January of this year.

    MJF’s Title Win

MJF’s AEW World Championship victory at Full Gear was a long-time coming in the eyes of fans, as the Devil has been a highlight of the promotion for years.

In the Observer, it was reported that there were other pitches for his title win, with some not involving Regal as much, though there was always the need to write him out.

Meltzer writes that the core plan that has remains the same was for MJF to be champion, Bryan Danielson to be challenging and for Regal to be out of the picture.

  • “The IRONY” – Saraya Undergoing Oral Surgery After Wrestling a Dentist

“The IRONY” – Saraya Undergoing Oral Surgery After Wrestling a Dentist

Saraya is headed to the dentist’s chair just weeks after her first match in over five years (against a dentist) and yes, she sees the irony there.

On Thursday evening, Saraya noted on Twitter that she just landed home and was going”straight off the plane to the dentist.”

She’ll be undergoing oral surgery, but it’s unrelated to anything that happened in the ring. She’s having her wisdom teeth removed, a procedure that most people recover from within two weeks.

    What’s Next for Saraya?

Saraya has been feuding with Dr. Britt Baker since arriving in All Elite Wrestling. After their match at Full Gear last month, she had positive things to say about her rival. During the post-PPV media scrum, she stated bluntly, “Britt carried me through the whole thing.”

It will be interesting to see if Saraya continues her feud with Baker, or if she moves on to a program with someone else. It’s likely too soon into her run to jump into the title picture. Other heels in the AEW women’s division include Anna Jay, Nyla Rose, Red Velvet, Serena Deeb and Tay Melo.

In an unrelated note, Saraya has been outspoken about wanting to work with Sasha Banks again in the future, which is interesting on several levels. She recently revealed that she spoke with Banks after announcing she was medically cleared to wrestle again.

Just days after Full Gear, Saraya name-dropped Banks again:

  • CM Punk Ready to “Move to His Next Project” After AEW

CM Punk Ready to “Move to His Next Project” After AEW

CM Punk is ready and willing to move on to his “next project” and part ways with All Elite Wrestling.

Punk joined the promotion in August 2021 after over a seven-year hiatus from wrestling.

The two-time former AEW World Champion hasn’t been seen on TV since All Out due to his role in the backstage fight.

    Moving On

Last month, it was reported that CM Punk is the one seeking a buyout of his contract, something that AEW is in no rush to grant.

In the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it is reported that Punk remains under contract with Tony Khan at this time, and is still being paid.

Sources close to Punk reiterated that delays in his being released are all down to AEW’s side of things.

Those same sources added that CM Punk is “ready and willing to move to his next project.”

Outside of wrestling, Punk provides commentary for Cage Fury Fighting Championships and has previously written comics for Marvel.

Punk also has appeared in multiple films, and was critically acclaimed for his role in 2019’s ‘Girl on the Third Floor.’

    Going Back…

CM Punk may have options outside of wrestling, but moving on from AEW may lead to going back to WWE.

Punk walked out of the promotion in 2014 and was sent his termination papers on his wedding day, an unfortunate coincidence according to former WWE CEO Vince McMahon.

It has been reported that Triple H is open to working with Punk, realizing the huge deal that having arguably AEW’s biggest star on his roster would be.

While the Game is open to discussing a Punk return, others in WWE absolutely do not want him back.

  • WWE Legend on The House of Black Returning to AEW: “This is Like the First Season All Over Again”

WWE Legend on The House of Black Returning to AEW: “This is Like the First Season All Over Again”

Malakai Black, Brody King, Buddy Matthews, and Julia Hart, aka the House of Black, recently returned to AEW television after an extended absence from the promotion.

The House of Black was rumored to be released and on their way back to WWE at one point, but at the end of the day, they came back to All Elite Wrestling on the November 23rd edition of Dynamite.

Speaking on episode 459 of the Jim Cornette Experience, the WWE legend reviewed House of Black’s return on last week’s Dynamite. The group showed up following Orange Cassidy and Jake Hager’s match.

Then they had a blackout, and then spooky music came on, and then to a big pop from this crowd, on the stage was Stevie Nicks, I’m sorry Julia Hart.

She looks just like Stevie Nicks in the day and that is never a bad thing. When the lights come on, the House of Black is in the ring behind the pudding gang (Best Friends and Orange Cassidy).

I mean there’s Pockets (All-Atlantic Champion Orange Cassidy) there’s Muffin Top Taylor, there’s Trent, whoever else is in that crowd.

And they beat up, the House of Black did, all of the pudding gang while QT Marshall’s The Factory was in the ring too, and they stood there and applauded it. So then the House of Black beat up The Factory too.

Cornette pointed out that the AEW fans were chanting “welcome back!” at these “satanic heels” after they beat everyone down.

And the people cheered and chanted welcome back at these satanic heels. So you had a match with a guy facing Jake Hager from the Jericho Appreciation Society.

And the guy Pockets, and his crew won the match, and then stayed in the ring so that the House of Black could come and beat them up. The Factory came down so they could get beat up too.

Through all of this heat-getting stuff, the people chanted “welcome back!” to the heels that worship satan. And then Malakai Black spoke and it all went to bleh.

Then they went to break. This is like the first season all over again. This is like they are trying to get the Dork Order (Dark Order) over again.

  • Former WWE Writer Praises MJF After Getting to Know Him: “It’s Like Bruce Lee Out There”

Former WWE Writer Praises MJF After Getting to Know Him: “It’s Like Bruce Lee Out There”

Freddie Prinze Jr. recently appeared on the Insight podcast with Chris Van Vliet and said he has a friendship with AEW World Champion MJF.

Maxwell Jacob Friedman has stated on numerous occasions that he will be a free agent in 2024 and is expecting the biggest contract in wrestling history. Prinze is reportedly starting his own promotion and recently made an offer to a big name in WWE.

Last night on AEW Dynamite, MJF introduced a new title called “BBB” (Big Burberry Belt) and brutally attacked William Regal. This was apparently a way to write William Regal out of AEW as he’s expected to return to WWE.

Speaking on the Insight podcast, Freddie praised MJF and said he meets with him every time the AEW World Champion visits Los Angeles.

I’ve gotten to know Maxwell over the last two years. Every time he comes to L.A., we make it a point to go to dinner. And I try to take him to a different sushi spot every time.

I’m not the most experienced and educated wrestling cat in the world, but I did work for the WWE and I did ask a million questions to the Pat Pattersons of the world, to the Freebirds of the world, to the Arn Andersons, the Dean Malenkos – all these old school people, and everything they taught me this dude has in spades.

Freddie added that it cool MJF gets to see people give him his flowers while he’s such a young performer.

It’s like Bruce Lee out there, man. It’s crazy, I know – I’m speaking about him like he’s a poet or Picasso, but that’s what he is … And the good thing is, he’s been appreciated within his lifetime, instead of long after he’s gone.

  • CM Punk Seemingly Confirms Report About his Dog Being Hurt in AEW All Out Brawl

CM Punk Seemingly Confirms Report About his Dog Being Hurt in AEW All Out Brawl

CM Punk has greatly reduced how much he posts on social media since the incident at AEW All Out, where he ripped Hangman Page, The Young Bucks, Kenny Omega, and Colt Cabana at the post-event press conference and then got into a brawl with The Elite.

Wrestling Inc previously reported that members of Punk’s camp alleged that Larry’s teeth were knocked loose accidentally when the door to the wrestler’s locker room was kicked open. The report stated the teeth had to be pulled days later by a vet.

    The Photo

Punk recently shared a photograph of his dog, Larry, to his Instagram story that shows Larry missing several teeth, seemingly confirming the report.

    https://twitter.com/eesy_o/status/1598119579271966720

This photo is only a few things he has shared as of late in addition to occasional promotion for his wife AJ Mendez’s Netflix movie “Blade of the 47 Ronin.”

Punk had undergone surgery for a torn left triceps shortly after All Out during his AEW Championship match against Jon Moxley. The injury will likely keep him out of action for at least eight months.

As previously reported, there have been talks between Punk and AEW about a contract buyout. However, there’s been a hang-up on the non-compete clause period.

  • MJF Antagonizes Conor McGregor With “Better Than You” Suit

MJF Antagonizes Conor McGregor With “Better Than You” Suit

They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, but that’s probably not what MJF was going for with his latest bombastic suit.

Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite saw Maxwell Jacob Friedman’s first appearance as AEW World Champion. It was an eventful segment that saw the 26-year-old send William Regal to the hospital and the introduction of his custom “BBB” AEW World title belt.

Friedman marked the big occasion by donning a custom suit that features the text, “Better Than You” all over it. As seen below, MJF will stop at nothing to express his feelings of superiority.

    MJF vs. Conor McGregor

MJF has been throwing shade at Conor McGregor for years now and his “Better Than You” suit may be his latest attempt to goad The Notorious into an in-person confrontation.

The UFC megastar made headlines in 2017 when he wore the infamous “F-U” suit during his press tour for his fight against boxing champion Floyd Mayweather. The custom three-piece “F-U” suit was designed by David August and cost around $6,500.

There are similarities between MJF and Conor McGregor, but don’t tell that to MJF. Back in December 2020, he called comparisons to McGregor “cute” and “laughable.”

MJF said he appreciates what McGregor did in the UFC, but McGregor couldn’t spar with him and would get “absolutely bent over, if you know what I mean” on the microphone.

More recently, they’ve been exchanging trash talk on social media. It started when MJF called UFC fighter Paddy Pimblett a “Dollar Store Conor McGregor.” McGregor responded by saying he doesn’t know who MJF is, which really got him going. MJF called McGregor a “roided-up leprechaun” and challenged him to show up to an AEW event.

Tony Khan and Triple H have both commented on the possibility of working with Conor McGregor, who has also teased interest in pro wrestling:

  • William Regal Expected Back in WWE Soon

William Regal Expected Back in WWE Soon

All Elite Wrestling star William Regal is expected back in WWE very soon. Over the past several weeks, there’s been conflicting reports over Regal’s contractual status with AEW.

Regal was released by WWE back in January. The decision caught a lot of people off guard and was attributed to the company’s decision to go in a new direction with NXT 2.0. His Lordship made a surprise debut at AEW Revolution in March and quickly aligned with Bryan Danielson and Jon Moxley. They later formed the Blackpool Combat Club, one of this year’s most dominant factions in pro wrestling.

Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite saw Regal’s first public appearance with the man he helped win the AEW World Championship, Maxwell Jacob Friedman. The alliance was short-lived, as MJF ended the segment by blindsiding Regal with an attack that sent him to the hospital.

Regal Likely Returning Home to WWE

A lot has changed since Regal joined AEW, most notably Vince McMahon’s retirement. Regal’s longtime friend Triple H is now running the show, a situation that paved the way for his inevitable return.

On Thursday, a pair of reports strongly indicate Regal will be back at Triple H’s side in the very near future. According PWInsider, “there have been rumblings” within WWE that Regal will be returning soon in a backstage role. Regal was a driving force behind the success of NXT and served as the brand’s on-screen authority figure for several years.

In addition to this report, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful tweeted that he’s heard Regal’s AEW contract expires this month (December).

Regal is considered one of the brightest minds in the business and is an invaluable asset to whichever company he decides to work.

  • Update on ‘Hangman’ Adam Page’s Health Status after AEW Dynamite Return (Report)

Update on ‘Hangman’ Adam Page’s Health Status after AEW Dynamite Return (Report)

‘Hangman’ Adam Page is back on AEW programming, and the Cowboy is raring to go!

Page returned to Dynamite on last night’s episode, confronting Jon Moxley in the opening segment of the show.

The Cowboy’s appearance marked his first time on AEW TV since the October 18, episode of Dynamite, where he faced Moxley in an AEW World Championship match.

    Cleared to Wrestle

During Page’s return, it was stated that the former AEW World Champion was in town to get medically tested.

The line certainly implies that Page has yet to be cleared, but as Dave Meltzer explained on Wrestling Observer Radio, that this is far from the case.

“He was (cleared to compete.) 100%.”

    Dave Meltzer.

After an intense face-off with Moxley, the pair fought around the arena before wrestlers came in to break them up.

    Page’s Injury

During the AEW World Championship match between the two, a lariat clothesline by Moxley left Page motionless in the ring.

The match was quickly called off, and it has been reported that there was an extra ten minutes of the match scheduled which didn’t take place.

It was later confirmed that the former World Champion had suffered a concussion during the match.

AEW’s medical team was widely praised for their immediate action, including by former WWE Superstar Chris Nowinski.

Nowinski was one of WWE’s promising Superstars in the early 2000s before a concussion derailed his career, and he has spent the years since doing research on CTE.

Ric Flair Calls on Tony Khan to Create AEW Hall of Fame

All Elite Wrestling could soon introduce its own Hall of Fame, if AEW President Tony Khan takes the advice of Ric Flair.

Khan founded the promotion in 2019 as an alternative to WWE following the success of the independent supershow ALL IN in 2018.

The promotion is home to several veterans of wrestling, including Chris Jericho, Paul Wight, Mark Henry, and Billy Gunn.

    AEW Hall of Fame

Ric Flair is no stranger to being inducted into a wrestling Hall of Fame, having been given the nod twice by WWE (2008 and 2012.)

Flair is also a member of the NWA Hall of Fame (2008,) the Wrestling Observer Hall of Fame (1996,) and the International Pro Wrestling Hall of Fame (2021,) among others.

Speaking on the latest episode of his To Be the Man podcast, Ric called on Khan to give AEW an equivalent accolade.

“I wish Tony would start a Hall of Fame. That would create a lot of interest.”

    Ric Flair.

The Nature Boy explained that the accomplishment wouldn’t solely be for the wrestlers of AEW, but for names associated with the company who are established legends of the sport.

“Do it based on people who he thinks were good in the history of the business not just guys from AEW the last three years.”

If Tony Khan takes Flair’s advice on board, it may be a long time before the 16-time World Champion adds another Hall of Fame ring to his collection.

After leaving WWE in 2021, it was expected that Flair would manage his son-in-law Andrade El Idolo, but those plans were scrapped after the Dark Side of the Ring episode, documenting the Plane Ride from Hell.

Speaking about the infamous 2002 flight, Flair has denied all allegations of forcing a female flight attendant to touch his genitals.

MJF Sends Warning After Brutal Attack on AEW Dynamite

William Regal made his way to the ring tonight on AEW Dynamite to a chorus of boos from the crowd in Indianapolis tonight.

He only was able to head to the ring because Jon Moxley was escorted out of the arena minutes prior. Moxley kicked off this week’s Dynamite but was interrupted by Hangman Page.

Hangman was making his return after suffering a concussion in a recent title match against Moxley before he dropped the belt to MJF at AEW Full Gear. Hangman Page and Jon Moxley traded punches before security broke it up. The brawl continued later on the show backstage and the two were taken out of the arena.

William introduced new AEW World Champion MJF and he got a great reaction from the crowd. Maxwell claimed that he was above the title because it reminded him of the men who have held it before.

He introduced a new title and referred to it as “BBB” (Big Burberry Belt). MJF said he is going to use the title as a bargaining chip in the bidding war of 2024, and he hopes the right Khan pays up, and he wasn’t talking about Tony.

Before the end of his promo, MJF pulled out the brass knuckles William Regal slid him at the end of the main event of Full Gear. MJF said Regal was a genius and noted a recent email William sent him.

The email was Regal offering MJF to become a better villain and suggesting that he use brass knuckles instead of the Dynamite Diamond Ring against Jon Moxley. Maxwell then punched Regal in the back of the head with the brass knuckles and quoted Regal’s email from seven years ago to him. MJF told Regal to “send him his stuff” down the line because right now he’s only hiring world-class athletes.

Bryan Danielson rushed the ring but MJF had already made his escape. MJF made multiple references to Danielson during the promo tonight. He referred to the crowd as “fickle” and Daniel Bryan introduced a new belt as the “Planet’s Champion” in WWE.

After he attacked William Regal with the brass knuckles, MJF took to Twitter and sent out a warning that his reign of terror has just begun.

The Reign of Terror has just begun.

MJF’s first title defense is set for Dynamite: Winter is Coming on December 14th. Ricky Starks will challenge for the title. Starks cut a backstage promo tonight and said he’s coming for everything MJF has and vowed to win the Battle Royal for the Dynamite Diamond Ring next week on Dynamite. Starks defeated Ari Daivari tonight in a singles match.

MJF came out to address the crowd and was introduced by William Regal. In the ring was a platform with something covered by a black cloth, which was very obviously a new title.

While talking about what he was better than, the champion said he was better than current title. After becoming champion, he promised himself there would be changes. He said looking at the title around his waist makes him “want to gag in his mouth.” The current title “is tacky and lacks class, and even worse, it reminds me of all of the men who have held it previously.”

Regal revealed the newly redesigned AEW World Championship that has a Burberry pattern on the straps. The champion said the belt is called the “Triple-B, the Big Burberry Belt.”

MJF’s Reign of Terror Has Begun

MJF warned everyone that his “reign of terror has begun”. He began to return Regal’s brass knucks to him as he thanked him for his help. He walked up behind Regal and hit him with his own brass knucks.

The champion left Regal laid out in the ring while Danielson came down to check on his mentor. No one else from Blackpool Combat Club came to check on Regal. Regal was stretchered to an ambulance.

Tay Melo accompanied Anna Jay A.S. to the ring for her match with Willow Nightingale. At one point, Melo was knocked off the apron.

After Nightingale picked up with win, Melo was in the ring, facing the ramp when Ruby Soho made her return by sliding into the ring from behind. A newly green-and-black-haired Soho had receipts for the broken nose she received from Melo. She rained down blows on her and pushed Jay off the apron. Melo punched Soho in her jaw.

On the outside, Soho headbutted Melo before hitting Destination Unknown on the ramp.

Soho’s injury occurred in September when she was teaming with Ortiz against Melo and Sammy Guevara on Zero Hour. Her nose was broken by a knee to the face from Melo.

In October, Soho underwent reconstructive surgery because her nose was broken in two places and her “septum was a mess.” She tweeted that a month after ALL OUT, “the countdown begins until I can breathe again.”

Soho returned to her hometown on the same night as Hangman Page.

Hangman Page Returns to AEW, Brawls with Jon Moxley

AEW Dynamite opened with Jon Moxley, who still hasn’t gotten his six week vacation, addressing the crowd. He talked about how he used to wrestle in Indianapolis early in his career.

He declared, “There are three constants: Death. Taxes. And Jon Moxley. There is nobody that can out work me, out hustle me, out wrestle me, out fight me, out bleed me, or out sweat me. Nothing has changed since Day One. Here at AEW, I am at the top of the food chain. I do what I want, I say what I want. This ring belongs to me. And you can bet your ass there is not a man in that locker room, there’s not a man in this building, there’s not a man in a 100-mile radius that has the balls to come out here, look me in the eyes and tell me any different.”

Page strutted straight to the former AEW World Champion and went nose-to-nose with him. Mox asked, “are you sure you want to do this after what happened last time? Oh, I’m sorry. Do you not remember?” Page replied by punching Moxley. Mox attempted to run away, but Page caught him with more punches. The two battled up to the ramp while Excalibur yelled that he doesn’t know if Hangman is cleared and if he is, it happened last minute.

The two had to be held back from each other. Mox ran at the “Anxious Millennial Cowboy”, but ended up falling off the ramp.

The two fought again backstage with refs and security attempting to break them apart.

Page had been out of action since October when he suffered a concussion in the main event of Dynamite when facing Moxley for the AEW World Championship. He missed Full Gear as well.

Andrade El Idolo has announced that he has undergone the knife.

“My first surgery, I can’t believe it happened. A few months ago, I tore my pectoral. Thanks god!I could and wanted to finish my match. I kept working because I love the business, but we know that many people do not value your effort. These days off, I took the opportunity to go to Dr.”

In early October, Andrade El Idolo was sent home by AEW after he was involved in a backstage fight with Sammy Guevara. This was after they exchanged words on Twitter, including when Guevara accused Andrade of wanting to return to WWE.

El Idolo hasn’t been seen on AEW TV since then. Leading up to the incident, Andrade stated that he wasn’t scared to get fired. There was speculation among fans that was trying to get out of his AEW deal to return to WWE by being involved in this fight, although Andrade has denied those rumors.

There’s still no word yet on his status regarding whether Andrade will be brought back by AEW or let go.

From all of us here at SEScoops, we wish Andrade a speedy recovery.

  • Chris Jericho’s Son Comments on Possibly Becoming a Pro-Wrestler

Chris Jericho’s Son Comments on Possibly Becoming a Pro-Wrestler

Chris Jericho has accomplished plenty in the world of professional wrestling, but he won’t be the start of a wrestling dynasty.

Among his accomplishments, Jericho was the first WWE Undisputed Champion and is a nine-time Intercontinental Champion, a record that has stood since 2008.

Joining AEW in 2019, the Canadian veteran became the first AEW World Champion that same year, and is currently in his first reign as Ring of Honor World Champion.

    One-Man Dynasty

Pro-Wrestling is filled with second-generation talent, Randy Orton, Charlotte Flair, Cody Rhodes, Hook, and the Gunn Club.

Ash Irvine, Jericho’s 19-year-old son, won’t be adding his name to that list, as he doesn’t believe wrestling is in his future.

Speaking to Jim Varsallone, Ash said that he has flirted with the idea of wrestling, but knows he isn’t the right fit.

“It’s always been something that I like to think about. But I think deep down, I know it’s not for me. My grandpa played hockey, my dad does wrestling, and I’m not going to do either. I’m going to do my own thing.”

    Ash Irvine.

Irvine’s grandfather, Ted Irvine, is a retired professional hockey player, best known for his time with the New York Rangers.

    Fishing

With wrestling and hockey seemingly off the table, Ash Irvine’s future may be in the world of fishing.

The 19-year-old is an avid fisherman, and has appeared on his father’s Talk is Jericho podcast, where he is introduced as ‘Ash the Fishing Expert.’

His fishing expertise was hinted at strongly at the end of his interview with Varsallone, where Irvine was shown at a creek, fishing pole in hand.
