Eddie Kingston Says That He Would Return To ROH

AEW star Eddie Kingston recently revealed that he would be open to the idea of returning to Ring of Honor, specifically to ‘help’ his friend Homicide. Speaking on a Pro Wrestling Junkies Q&A, Kingston said that he would go over to ROH as part of the ongoing ‘Forbidden Door’ angle that has seen AEW, IMPACT, NWA and New Japan all work together over the past year.

“Me and Homicide got to Ring of Honor, they asked us what we wanted to do and of course, we have the same attitude and if we’re going to do something, it might as well be for a championship or getting a title shot” Kingston began, discussing when he and Homicide became a tag team in 2013 for Ring of Honor.

Eddie Kingston on Ring of Honor

“We didn’t get along with Bobby and Kyle, surprise, we don’t get along with other people” Kingston added, referring to NXT Superstars Bobby Fish and Kyle O’Reilly, the ROH Champions at the time who Homicide and Eddie Kingston attacked on their first night back in the promotion. “They know that and they don’t like us either.”

“God bless them, I’m happy for both of them and don’t want to knock anybody’s hustle. Competition is competition. We had the match, it was fun. I didn’t like it and then we got suspended” Eddie Kingston continued.

Kingston would finish by then stating that he would now return to ROH if it would help out his friend and former LAX member Homicide. “I have nothing but love for Ring of Honor. When I broke in, it was the place to be. I’m happy for them now. Homicide is back there. It’s all about a forbidden door, if I could, I would go back over there and help Homicide out”

  • Allysin Kay Announced for ROH Women’s World Championship Tournament

Allysin Kay Announced for ROH Women’s World Championship Tournament

A huge name has been announced for the upcoming Ring of Honor Women’s World Championship tournament. Allysin Kay is a former IMPACT Wrestling and NWA world champion. Holding the latter belt for almost the entirety of 2019.

Kay is a free agent having left the NWA in November 2020. She is an experienced wrestler who has a proven championship pedigree.

She will definitely be a name to beat. Having been given a bye through the qualifying rounds, she will be that bit fresher than her opponents. However, another big name already through – with a bye – is Angela Love who is herself a former TNA titleholder. Love is also a former ROH champion and will be all too eager to win this tournament.

Allysin Kay has made sporadic appearances for Ring of Honor in the past, but now has her sights set on making a real and lasting impact for the company. A great way to do this would be winning the tournament and claiming the gold. The title itself is a brand-new championship that is replacing the Women of Honor world championship.

Victory for Allysin Kay would mean she has held gold across three different companies, as well as having made an appearance for WWE in their Mae Young Classic. She also appeared for AEW on the Full Gear pre-show last November.

Allysin Kay is certainly a formidable opponent. Whether she is successful in the tournament or not, there is a lot for ROH fans to be excited about.

ROH To Welcome Back Fans For “Best in the World” On July 11th

Ring of Honor is the latest pro-wrestling company to announce they will welcome back fans this July. The promotion announced its “Best in the World” PPV this year on July 11th will include the return of fans for the first time since February 2020.

The event will be held in Baltimore’s Employers Insurance Arena. Seating will be done in “pods” with groups placed 6-feet away from each other.

Ring of Honor COO Joe Koff issued the following statement regarding their decision to resume live events with fans in attendance:

“I want to express my deepest gratitude to all of our talented athletes, fans and everyone who has done their part to keep each other safe. It’s been a challenging year, no doubt, but we’re excited to continue to ramp up what we do best. Nothing beats the thrill of witnessing The Best Wrestling on the Planet and seeing your favorite stars LIVE and in-person. We would like to do this still with the fans’ safety, health and well-being as ROH’s top priorities.

ROH Best In The World tickets will go on sale for Honor Club members on May 24th. Tickets will then be released to the general public on June 7th.

ROH is the fourth company to announce a return to live events with fans for July. AEW will return to live touring for Dynamite on July 7th, WWE is rumored to be hoping to return to live touring in mid-July, and MLW will welcome back fans for a live show from Philadelphia’s 2300 Arena on July 10th.

  • EC3 Shares Update After Hospitalization

    EC3 Shares Update After Hospitalization

EC3 announced on social media last month that he had been hospitalized and now he has written a long blog to detail the situation.

He had been dealing with an infection that has caused him to miss out on work for the past month. The severe infection happened months after he had COVID-19 last year. He cited a torn toe tendon procedure and a cut suffered during a match.

“A couple of weeks ago, I noticed a swelling developing in my arm, and in other areas of my body,” he wrote. Paying it very little attention while using bro-science and internet diagnosis, I continued my daily missions and the overwhelming burdens I place upon myself in training, performing, business, and creative endeavors. When I thought about getting it looked at professionally, another thing would come up that I’d give priority.

This repeated and I lived life normally, consistently going, no rest,” he continued. “Finally, after an attempt at some athletic based therapy, my arm became a gigantic, swollen, horrifying, ungodly, painful atrocity and I went to the ER. Next thing I knew, words like cellulitis, staph, and stenosis were thrown around, I was being pumped full of fluids, antibiotics, and morphine, and was in an ambulance to my STAYCATION DESTINATION, Advent Health Downtown Orlando.”

He continued by noting that for 10 days, he shut down both physically and mentally.

“It was a reminder of both a childhood spent very ill, and a career spent where when things were very promising, began to reach an apex, and accomplishments being achieved I would drasticly be shattered with catastrophic injuries (torn ligaments, tendons, concussions etc.) Completely unforeseen. Completely unnecessary.”

EC3 added that he is at home now where he can continue to heal and rest. He also circled three dates on his calendar with the first date being May 27th.

EC3 has not wrestled since April 9 where he lost to Moose by DQ at a Game Changer Wrestling event.

Ring of Honor is looking to re-build its women’s division. The company now airs Women of Honor Wednesdays on YouTube. One wrestler who is interested in performing for the company is Chelsea Green. The former WWE Superstar took to Twitter recently to state her interest in wrestling for ROH.

Green’s trainer Lance Storm noted that ROH is one of the only companies she hasn’t worked for.

Maria Kanellis might be alluding to the fact that she holds “the pencil” in ROH’s women’s division at the moment with the below Tweet.

Green was also asked recently if she is interested in returning to Impact Wrestling. She spoke to Cultaholic and gave the below answer:

“Here’s what I’ll say, never say never because I had such a good relationship with them. Obviously, I was their women’s champion in 2018 – feels like it was yesterday – and I have a great relationship with everyone in that company,” Green stated. “So, I am excited to maybe pop in and out. Who knows?”

Green also spoke about ideas she pitched while in WWE during an interview with Chris Van Vliet.

“I can’t tell you how many ideas I came up with. If I think about it, they all led back to The Hot Mess. But with that being said, it wasn’t The Hot Mess like you saw at IMPACT. I tried to pitch a darker, creepier Hot Mess that you could relate to. Not just like the girl at the bar, more so any psychotic person you’ve had in your life.”

Mike Bennett Says AEW ‘Never Reached Out’ after WWE Release

ROH star and former WWE Superstar Mike Bennett recently spoke to The Shining Wizards Podcast. The former WWE 24/7 Champion discussed a number of topics during the interview, including his release from WWE and subsequent lack of contact from All Elite Wrestling.

“You know, they didn’t reach out to me,” Bennett began, talking about AEW. “Wrestling is very like ‘brother, brother.’ You talk to some people, you put out feelers.  Everything was always put out there, but nothing was ever like attacked.”

“I think always in my head, with Taven, it was always Ring of Honor” Bennett continued. ” I never really wanted to go anywhere else. You obviously, if you’re a businessman, and a smart businessman, you put everything out to everybody because you never want to put all your eggs in one basket.”

“But you know, when I got fired, one of the first people to reach out to me was Delirious” Bennett added. “He just sent me a winky emoji on Twitter.  It was just one of those ‘Hey I got ya,” you know?’ That always meant a lot to me because Delirious took over the book when I first started in ROH.”

“We have always had a very good relationship, and it’s always meant a lot to me” the former WWE Superstar noted. “So when I got that, it was just kind of like ‘I got you pal.’ It was one of these things where I was going to put out these feelers, but I know where I’m going and I know where I want to go. So it wasn’t really like attacking anything head on.”

ROH Confirms Plans For Women’s Division Reboot

ROH has confirmed the plans for a reboot of their women’s division that will kick off with a tournament to crown a new women’s champion this Summer.

The announcement was made by the newest member of the ROH Board of Directors Maria Kanellis-Bennett during the company’s 19th Anniversary PPV.

Maria cut a promo during the show and the former WWE and Impact star invited women from all over to participate in the upcoming tournament to determine their new champion.

She also announced a match between Angelina Love and Quinn McKay for an upcoming episode of ROH TV, with the winner getting entry in the first round of the tournament.

ROH hasn’t had a women’s champion since the last Women Of Honor title holder Kelly Klein’s contract expired in 2019. Her title defense at the Glory by Honor XVII in October 2019 was the last time the company had a women’s match.

They had announced a Quest For Honor tournament to crown a new women’s world heavyweight champion last year. It was slated to kick off in April 2020.

The coronavirus pandemic, however, forced the company to halt the tournament and it appears that the officials have rescheduled their original plans with this announcement.

The former IMPACT World Champion finished by writing more cryptic messages.

“Ring of Honor is aware of the extreme value in a #FreeEC3, and has provided me not only beyond fair #financial compensation, but the #freedom to push forward #TheNarrative, it’s #content and most importantly it’s ideals:

  • Kelly Klein Files Lawsuit Against ROH & Jay Lethal

Kelly Klein Files Lawsuit Against ROH & Jay Lethal

Former WOH Champion, Kelly Klein has filed a lawsuit against her former employers for employment discrimination. Listed as defendants are Ring of Honor, the company’s General Manager Greg Gilliland, the head booker “Delirious” Hunter Johnston, COO Joe Koff and Jay Lethal.

According to documents obtained by HeelByNature, Klein is suing for “breach of an implied contract, unpaid royalties, violation of state and federal equal pay acts, abusive discharge, discrimination and harassment and an unsafe work environment.”

“Plaintiff alleges that the Defendants terminated her contract as of December 31, 2019, because of her complaints regarding the disparate pay for WHO female wrestlers, the lack of safety and medical protocols after Plaintiff suffered the concussion in October of 2019, and the sexual harassment at ROH,” read documents relating to her case.

In the fall of 2019, Kelly Klein and Joey Mercury both made public statements regarding ROH’s work environment. ROH then stated that they would not be renewing Klein’s contact but disputed claims that they had fired her.

“We normally don’t discuss these matters but since it seems to have been made public — We did not fire Kelly but we did notify her that we would not be re-signing her when her current agreement expires. She is still under contract through the end of the year,” ROH stated to various media outlets in November of 2019.

EC3 Officially Signs With Ring of Honor Wrestling

Ring of Honor has confirmed that former WWE Superstar EC3 has signed with the company. The company issued a press release earlier today confirming that the former IMPACT World Champion will be joining the promotion going forward.

Here is the full release from ROH:

Ring of Honor is pleased to announce that EC3 has signed with the company.

EC3, who had been pro wrestling’s hottest free agent since he hit the open market last summer; made a few appearances with ROH in the fall. He made his unannounced return on last weekend’s episode of “Ring of Honor Wrestling” to confront Jay Briscoe.

EC3 and Briscoe had been scheduled to face each other at Final Battle in December. The match was called off after EC3 tested positive for COVID-19.

    EC3 Signs With ROH

Recognized as a two-time former world champion, EC3 boasts one of the most chiseled physiques in the sport and stellar speaking skills.

EC3 seized control of his narrative during his time as a free agent. A darker, more intense and more dangerous EC3 showed up in ROH declaring that he was on a quest to see if honor is real.

Now that EC3 is making ROH his home, he’ll have ample time to find out.

Since leaving WWE last year during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, the former 24/7 Champion has been promoting his character via YouTube videos and his social media presence. The former Derrick Bateman confirmed with Chris Van Vliet on his podcast that he wanted to work where he was offered creative freedom and be able to ‘control the narrative.’ It appears as though ROH have offered the former Ethan Carter 3rd what he was looking for.

  • PCO Confirms Expiry Date Of His Current ROH Contract

PCO Confirms Expiry Date Of His Current ROH Contract

Wrestling veteran PCO has become one of the top stars for ROH since joining the company in 2018 and he has won multiple titles in the company including the promotion’s world title in 2019.

The former world champion recently had an interview with WrestleZone where he talked about things such as the development of his new persona and more.

During the interview, the former WCW star confirmed that his ROH contract is set to expire on December 1, 2021, but PCO claimed that he is very happy with his current situation:

“I haven’t even looked at options yet, I’m very happy with where I’m at right now and what I’m doing.”

PCO also talked about the success he achieved in 2019 mentioning his various accomplishments and he admitted that it was a huge year for him:

“I just think I had a tremendous year last year, being World Six-Man Tag Champ, World Tag Champ, World Heavyweight Champ with Ring of Honor,

And then the NWA World Tag Team, the Crockett Cup winner, and think that this is a lot of success, it’s pretty huge,”

With the amount of success he achieved before the coronavirus pandemic, PCO is likely to attract some attention when his contract expires.

It would be interesting to see if he stays with ROH or decides to join a different promotion when the time comes.

ROH Locks Bandido And Flamita To New Deals

ROH has been on a re-signing spree recently and they have now locked high flying stars Bandido and Flamita to new deals, according to PWinsider.

Bandido, who made his wrestling debut in 2011 at a young age of 15, has wrestled for many well-known promotions in Mexico such as Lucha Libre Elite (LLE), The Crash Lucha Libre and more.

In 2018, he revealed that he turned down an offer from WWE and chose to sign with Ring Of Honor instead. He has been a regular for the promotion ever since.

Flamita, who is also a Mexican luchador enmascarado like Bandido has been wrestling from a young age as well. The 26-year-old star made his debut in 2009.

During his time in Mexico, the high flyer worked for companies such as Lucha Libre AAA World Wide (AAA) and Desastre Total Ultraviolento (DTU)

The young star, who has been compared to Rey Mysterio by Dave Meltzer joined the promotion’s roster in 2019 and now he has decided to continue his relationship with the company.

While there are no details on the length of their new deals, Bandido signed a one year contract with the company last year and these latest contracts could be of similar lengths.

  • Dalton Castle Free Agency News

    Dalton Castle Free Agency News

Dalton Castle is reportedly a free agent at the moment. ROH contracts often finish up at the end of the calendar year after the Final Battle PPV. According to a report from Wrestling Inc, Castle has received a strong offer from Ring of Honor to remain with the promotion. He is said to be considering the deal but also looking to see what else is out there.

Castle dropped a match to Rey Horus at Final Battle last month. He’s been with the promotion since 2013. Castle defeated Cody Rhodes for the ROH World Championship at Final Battle 2017. He held it until June 30th, 2018, before dropping it to Jay Lethal. Castle also held the promotion’s 6-man tag-team titles along with the Boys in the summer of 2017.

In 2019, Castle spoke to WWL Radio about why he enjoys being in Ring of Honor.

“They let me grow on my own,” Castle shared. “There’s a good group of men and women in the locker room. I seem to get along with just about every one of them. I feel comfortable there. And it’s the size of the promotion that allows me to connect really one-on-one with every individual fan. If they choose to come to the meet-and-greets before the show, there’s a moment for me to touch base with them there. I’m attainable. All the wrestlers in Ring of Honor are attainable and are just as big of fans of this as anybody sitting in the seats.”

  • Update On Marty Scurll Potentially Signing With WWE or NJPW

Update On Marty Scurll Potentially Signing With WWE or NJPW

Marty Scurll is no longer with Ring of Honor. The company announced Monday night that the two parties have decided to end their working relationship.

Marty Scurll was accused of sexual assault last year during the #SpeakingOut movement. A young woman says that he sexually abused her when she was 16 years old and intoxicated. He made public statements addressing the situation:

“Although I truly believe that our encounter that evening was consensual, and the fact that the encounter was legal; is almost not the point. I understand that she now views our encounter as part of a bigger problem within the wrestling community.”

On the latest Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer discussed Marty Scurll becoming a free agent and his options for future employment.

“I don’t anticipate AEW taking him,” Meltzer said. “I mean, it’s possible, obviously he was friends with all those guys. For AEW, it would be difficult just because there’s a lot of heat that anyone is going to get for hiring him. WWE does not feel that heat, they’re going to do what they are going to do.”

    Marty Scurll

    Marty Scurll’s Options

Dave Meltzer believes WWE and NJPW would be more willing than AEW and ROH to overlook Marty Scurll’s baggage.

“I would suspect that Marty can go to New Japan Pro Wrestling right now and get a job there. Except for the fact that he couldn’t right now because of the pandemic and their economic situation. If it was normal, he could go to New Japan, I have no doubt. It wouldn’t shock me (if he goes to) WWE. AEW I think would be tougher.”

Prior to working for ROH, Marty Scurll had a stint with the National Wrestling Alliance in 2019. He was involved in a program with NWA World Champion Nick Aldis. The NWA is looking to start back up this year and Scrull would be a recognizable name to bring in.

There is no question that Scurll is one of the most talented free agents in all of professional wrestling. It remains to be seen if his scandal will blow over and his reputation can be rehabilitated.

  • Marty Scurll Departs From Ring Of Honor

Marty Scurll Departs From Ring Of Honor

Marty Scurll is no longer under contract with Ring of Honor.

On Monday evening, ROH announced on social media that the two sides have mutually decided to end their working relationship:

Marty Scurll In Ring of Honor

Marty Scurll joined Ring of Honor in 2016. He signed a new contract in January 2020. At the time, “The Villain” was a hot commodity. He was rumored to be joining either WWE or AEW.

The latest Ring of Honor contract called for him to take over as Ring of Honor’s head of creative. Unfortunately, it was not meant to be. Just as he was supposed to begin expanding his duties behind the scenes, the Covid-19 pandemic hit. Ring of Honor soon suspended live events.

Marty Scurll was later the subject of lurid allegations as part of the #SpeakingOut movement. It was alleged by a young woman that Marty Scurll took advantage of her while she was drunk and underaged. Scurll addressed the situation publicly and soon made his Twitter account private.

Marty Scurll was removed from the ROH website roster in October 2020. Since the promotion resumed holding events, he had not been at any ROH TV tapings or PPVs nor had he been involved in any behind the scenes responsibilities.

We’ll provide an update if Scrull comments on his departure from ROH.

Mike Bennett Comments On The Possibility Of Maria Joining Him In ROH

Mike Bennett made a name for himself in ROH as part of The Kingdom that also featured his wife, Maria Kanellis.

They went to WWE in 2017 and had a run that they weren’t hoping for. Now, Mike is back in Ring of Honor and has reunited with Matt Taven. While doing an interview with Wrestling Inc, he talked about the possibility of Maria joining him in the promotion.

“Maria, I’ll never say no because she’s my wife, so if she ever wants to come back, she’s always more than willing to. The Kingdom’s just as much her as it was me, and Matt and [Adam] Cole. The door’s always open for her. I will say this about Maria though, she’s very, as most people know, she’s very methodical. She’s very methodical in her decisions. When Maria comes back, she’ll come back when she wants to come back on her terms, doing what she wants to do because that’s how she’s always done it, and I’m sure as hell not going to tell her any other way.”

He noted that if Maria does return to pro wrestling it will be her decision as she’s been doing it for a long time and done a lot in the business. He noted that she’s deserved to rest and come back when she wants to do so.

The married couple was released by WWE back in April due to budget cuts related to the COVID-19 pandemic. They had signed new WWE contracts last June that would’ve seen them be with the company for the next five years.

Mike Bennett was one of the names to be released by WWE as part of their coronavirus budget cuts and since then he has made his return to the independent circuit and ROH.

However, returning to the ring outside of the company wasn’t always in his mind and according to the former WWE star, he had even considered retirement after getting fired from the company.

Bennett recently had an interview with Scott Fishman of TV Insider and opening up about his release from the company; he revealed that at first he contemplated if he wanted to keep wrestling:

“When I got fired, I contemplated if I wanted to keep wrestling; I don’t know what the post-coronavirus pro wrestling world is going to look like. I have a 2-year-old and, when we got fired; my son was 2 months old.

I’m so thankful to have my wife to lean on. She’s my biggest supporter.” said Mike “We had constant talks after the kids went to bed and figured it out. You become parents, adults, and figure out life.”

The ROH star also provided an update on his wife and fellow former WWE star Maria Kanellis revealing that she is back in school, pursuing her master’s degree.

EC3 Talks Health Issues After Testing Positive For Coronavirus

EC3 was pulled from this Friday’s Final Battle PPV of Ring Of Honor after the former TNA world champion was tested positive for coronavirus.

The former WWE star recently had an interview with Chris Van Vliet where he talked about a number of things and he also revealed how he has been since his positive test.

EC3 first revealed that he has been quarantined for over a week at this point and the former NXT star claimed that he is at the tail end of COVID:

“I’ve been quarantined for a week to ten days, yeah, at this point, I have COVID, I’m at the tail end of it. It sucked a little bit, some of it wasn’t bad. I’m healthy, so I was fortune.

EC3 also detailed some of the health issues he has had to deal with since being diagnosed but he claimed that it felt like the flu or bad cold most of the time:

“I had none of the respiratory issues, kind of felt like the flu or a moderately bad cold some of the times. I would say one day I overdid it on my carb load, or I was sick with COVID and it attacked my stomach because I was farting way too much.

One day, I had a real bad set of chills where I had a double hoodie. One night, I had a ten-minute respiratory cough and I was like, ‘I get why this sucks now.’ Woah! I feel like I was breathing fire and then I’ve been fine ever since.”

Apart from this, EC3 talked about things like having no crowd for shows, wrestling without fans and how ROH has the best wrestling in the world. You can check out his full interview below:

Mike Bennett Talks How His WWE Run Felt Like “A Lifetime”

Former WWE Superstar Mike Bennett/Kanellis recently appeared on SiriusXM’s Busted Open Radio. The former WWE 24/7 Champion discussed a number of topics during his time on the show, including the ‘whirlwind’ of being in WWE.

Mike Bennett will also be returning to Ring of Honor next weekend at Final Battle 2020. This will be his first appearance for the Sinclair Broadcasting brand since he left at Final Battle 5 years ago to join NJPW, IMPACT and then WWE.

“I’ve done a lot of reflecting lately, just because of the situation we’re in and where I’m at in my life” Mike Bennett began on Busted Open. “And it’s really crazy to me, to think that five years ago I left Ring of Honor? Within those five years, I essentially lived an entire lifetime.”

Bennett would elaborate further, saying “I went and I did New Japan. I did IMPACT and I did WWE. Which, if you’ve spent even a year at WWE? You know the weight, the toll, and then just the learning experience. This isn’t a negative at all, it’s just the goal, the whirlwind of WWE always feels like a lifetime, because of everything that’s going on there.”

Then Mike Bennett would address how he felt his run in WWE went. Bennett has stated in the past that he didn’t enjoy his creative in WWE, but he feels as though he has grown ‘as a man’ over the past 3 years; dealing with drug addiction and raising a family.

“I’ve grown so much in my career. The last three years might have been a little shoddy and a little kind of not the direction I hoped it would go? But as a human? As a man, as a dad and as a husband? Through these past five years I’ve grown up an insane amount. I had two kids, I bought a house, my relationship with my wife is the best it’s ever been. That is what I’m most proud of.”

  • EC3 Set To Be A Free Agent Again Soon

EC3 Set To Be A Free Agent Again Soon

EC3 is keeping his deals short these days after he was released by WWE earlier this year.

Staying true to his character, he is controlling his own narrative in addition to his freedom when it comes to who he wants to work for.

The former TNA World Heavyweight Champion is slated to be contractually free once again very soon. He told Fightful Select that he will be “freed up” again when 2021 hits, which  implies that his ROH deal is running up at the end of this month.

Of course, he does have some options for his next landing spot including signing a new deal with Ring of Honor. It was noted in the interview that he is on good terms with Impact Wrestling. However, he’s not sure about signing a long-term deal even though the promotion has apparently expressed interest in doing such a deal.

EC3 added that he doesn’t know if he wants to be “nailed down long term” with any contract right now. Shortly after joining ROH in October, he was written off Impact television.

He made his return to Impact Wrestling following the main event of the Slammiversary pay-per-view event from Skyway Studios in Nashville, Tennessee back in July.

  • Mike Bennett Calls Leaving ROH ‘Biggest Mistake’ Of His Life

Mike Bennett Calls Leaving ROH ‘Biggest Mistake’ Of His Life

Mike Bennett ended his long run with ROH back in 2015 to explore the wrestling world and according to the former champion; it was the ‘biggest mistake of his life’ professionally.

The former WWE star recently appeared on Trending With Taven, which is a new ROH show hosted by Matt Taven where he talked about things like his return to ROH and more.

While discussing his departure from the promotion in 2015, Bennett claimed that leaving Ring Of Honor was the biggest mistake of his professional life:

“What happened five years ago, professionally was the biggest mistake of my life. Hands down. Without a doubt, that was the biggest mistake of my life.

Personally, I had to do it. I had to find out who I was as a man. I had to go prove that Mike Bennett on his own could be Mike Bennett on his own. But hindsight’s always 20/20, and you look back, and you go, ‘What were you thinking? Why?’ I had everything I wanted right here.”

Later in the interview, the former Impact star explained how he has changed since then and he said that he doesn’t take things for granted anymore.

Mike Bennett joined ROH in 2008 and had a good run but he left the promotion in 2015 after his contract expired. He tried making his name in promotions such as Impact Wrestling and WWE after his release before eventually returning to ROH earlier this month.

  • Update On Marty Scurll’s Status With ROH

Update On Marty Scurll’s Status With ROH

Ring of Honor has returned to producing content for its weekly television program. Marty Scurll has not been involved, however. Scurll was the subject of allegations during the #SpeakingOut movement and it was announced that ROH would be launching an investigation into his past conduct. There have been no updates from ROH regarding the investigation.

Scurll is said to not be involved in creative with the company at the moment. He isn’t be used as a wrestler either.

Dave Meltzer addressed Scurll’s situation on Wrestling Observer Radio.

“Marty Scurll was taken off the Ring of Honor roster page,” Meltzer said. “Obviously, Marty Scurll’s not worked, he’s not the booker anymore, he’s had nothing to do with creative. From the #SpeakingOut allegations, at this point, there’s no plans to use him. As far as is that forever? I don’t know. I just know he was taken off the active roster, has not been used at any of the TVs, he’s not booked at any of the TVs going forward for right now.”

“As far as I know he hasn’t been fired, so I don’t know what the exact situation is other than they’re not using him,” he continued.

EC3 Claims WWE ‘Stole’ Raw Underground Concept

Former WWE Superstar EC3 has claimed that WWE “stole” the Raw Underground concept from him. EC3 was let go from the company earlier this year. He subsequently released a shoot-style video that bore a lot of resemblance to what Raw Underground would ultimately present.

Joining the ROHStrong podcast, EC3 claimed he “knew it was going to be stolen, so I was prepared for it. I didn’t know it’d go to that length, and I know mine played to a minor bubble of the professional wrestling audience while majority of it saw whatever the hell they put out there.”

He went on to compare the situation to the 1992 movie Wayne’s World. EC3 explained how he was “[…] producing this show in Aurora, my basement with my buddy Garth. We’ll call him J.C. in this instance, and then Rob Lowe came in, bought us and when I saw Shane McMahon in the ring, not in a real underground, mine was a real underground.”

EC3 described WWE’s take on the underground shoot-style presentation as a “[…] manufactured, heartless, desolate studio, I’m looking at Shane and it felt like when Noah was rapping on Wayne’s World after they bought him out. It was just inauthentic and like I said, it had no heart.”

He stressed that, although he “knew something would’ve been taken from it,” he didn’t expect WWE to simply replicate the “whole aesthetic.”

EC3 noted that it’s always a challenge to do something different. That being said, he stressed he plans on doing bigger and better things in ROH.

Recent reports indicate that Raw Underground may already be “considered done” for now.
