Rhea Ripley and Dominik Mysterio: A Heated Rivalry

Following their split at WWE SummerSlam in Cleveland, the Dom and Mami have of course found themselves on opposing sides. Dominik has aligned himself with Liv Morgan, while Ripley has been seeking revenge on both for costing her a chance at winning back the Women’s World Championship.

What Did Rhea Ripley Say About the Potential Match?

In a recent interaction on X, Rhea Ripley responded to comments made by Dominik Mysterio regarding a possible intergender match.

Dominik had expressed his openness to facing Ripley in a singles match but was unsure if WWE would ever book such a contest. Ripley’s response was simple yet direct: “Bring it.”

The Feasibility of Intergender Matches in WWE

Intergender matches, while rare, do have a history in WWE, with select instances occurring over the years. However, they have not been regular occurrence in recent years.

Despite this, Ripley’s formidable presence and the storyline tension between her and Dominik could make a compelling case for WWE to explore this avenue.

CM Punk recently referenced the infamous “AEW Brawl Out” during a post-match interview at WWE’s Bash in Berlin event.

CM Punk’s Intense Remarks on Protecting His Family

During the post-match interview, CM Punk did not hold back when discussing his protective nature over his family. He emphasized that anyone who disrespects his wife or his beloved dog, Larry, would face serious consequences.

Punk noted, “Just like in the past, If anybody messes with my dog, Larry, I hurt them,” referencing the situation between he, The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega backstage at AEW All Out a few years ago.

It was only a slight nod to what has happened in the past for the former AEW Champion, but considering the NDA that he and a number of other names signed when it came to the backstage incident it is interesting that he would decide to make reference to it.

Cody Rhodes Has ‘No Plans’ To Face Mentor Randy Orton

Cody Rhodes retained his WWE Undisputed Championship against Kevin Owens, but could he have another friend to face in Randy Orton?

During the Bash In Berlin post-show, Rhodes addressed plenty as he was also tagging in for Triple H who was unavailable for the post-show due to his daughter beginning college. However, after he got done with the nuts and bolts of the numbers, Rhodes was asked if he could envision Randy Orton as a future opponent for him after he was caught eyeing up the WWE Title months back.

Before Rhodes answered, he did take time to congratulate and thank both Orton and GUNTHER for the ‘house,’ after they headlined the Bash In Berlin, the highest grossing arena event in WWE history.

“Gosh, I don’t want to give you a bad answer, but that match, a lot would have to happen for that match to take place. Again, that’s a very real relationship and friendship in the mentor and the student, but it’s certainly not something I would back down from.

’cause like I just said, sometimes the people you want to know how you’ve grown the most is the ones closest to you and nobody’s closer to me than Randy Orton so if it happens, that’s a lot of drama.”

    – Cody Rhodes

A battle between Orton and Rhodes seems more than likely to occur at some point. Even against Kevin Owens, Cody seemed in dire straits, but Owens couldn’t take advantage due to his friendship and it cost him opportunities to win the title. That could have led to a massive heel turn, but after the match KO kept his cool.

  • Jade Cargill Silences AEW Talk, Wants To Focus On WWE Future

Jade Cargill Silences AEW Talk, Wants To Focus On WWE Future

From 2021 to 2023, Jade Cargill was a force to be reckoned with in AEW and was also the promotion’s first-ever TBS Champion. Cargill’s 508-day reign remains the longest in history and the longest of any champion AEW. Nowadays, she is a WWE Superstar and is ready to focus on the future, not her past.

At WWE Bash In Berlin, Cargill and Bianca Belair regained the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships. On the post-show press conference, Cargill’s AEW past was brought up and the ‘Storm’ made it clear she’s looking ahead.

“You know what, I’m so tired of answering questions about AEW. I’m proud to be from there; however, I’m here. The answer is that I’m here, and I want to focus on what’s next, and that’s solidifying and owning these tag team titles and making a name for ourselves.”

Despite being a WWE Superstar, Cargill has been asked about her AEW past numerous times since joining the bigger promotion in 2023. On the eve of her WrestleMania 40 debut, Cargill shared multiple reasons for her AEW exit when asked about departing the company.

Now, Jade Cargill is looking to the future and her second reign as a Women’s Tag Team Champion. Not only that, but Cargill has also set her sights on winning singles gold when the time is right. While AEW helped establish Jade Cargill as a name in wrestling, she’s ready to move forward with WWE, and with her booking thus far, the future looks very bright for the SmackDown Superstar.

  • Karrion Kross Shares Violent Vision for WWE’s Next Championship

Karrion Kross Shares Violent Vision for WWE’s Next Championship

WWE has plenty of championships right now, with Superstars across the main roster and WWE NXT doing all they can to hold gold. Now, Karrion Kross has an idea for a brand new championship, one that isn’t for the faint of heart!

On Twitter/X, Kross suggested that WWE should produce an Extreme Wrestling Championship, which would be defended under violent stipulations. With No disqualifications and ‘no rules,’ Kross said the only way to win would be pinfall, submission, or knockout.

Kross’ pitch had fans in the comments excited about the prospect of a championship based in extreme wrestling. When a fan suggested that the title could be part of Netflix programming, Kross replied in agreement with “Bingo.” WWE RAW will move to Netflix in January of next year in a lucrative move for WWE’s flagship weekly show.

When a fan asked who’d compete in the tournament, Kross said that the fans would get to decide. Multiple fans tagged WWE CCO Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque, showing that they’d love to see the title become a reality.

    WWE’s Gimmick Championships

WWE is no stranger to ‘gimmick’ championships, and from 1998 to 2002, the Hardcore Championship allowed those competing for the gold to get downright violent. The title briefly returned to WWE TV in 2006 with Edge and Mick Foley being declared co-owners of the gold, but the title was never officially sanctioned.

More recently, WWE has had unique titles such as the 24/7 Championship, which like its Hardcore predecessor, had to be defended at all times. Currently, WWE has the NXT Heritage Cup which must be defended in specific Heritage Cup rules. Off TV, wrestlers can also compete for the WWE Speed championship which sees short, high-octane action on Twitter/X. Later this month, a tournament will begin to crown the first WWE Speed Women’s Champion.

  • CM Punk Says It’s The End With Drew McIntyre, Sets Sights On GUNTHER

CM Punk Says It’s The End With Drew McIntyre, Sets Sights On GUNTHER

CM Punk wants to put Drew McIntyre in his rearview mirror and has future plans, which included post-match donuts.

Punk’s strap-match victory at WWE Bash In Berlin was certainly definitive as he hit four GTS’s as he tapped all four corners and got the W against his long-time rival, marking his first singles win in WWE in over a decade. Cathy Kelley caught up with CM Punk in the locker room, asking Punk about his future plans.

“It’s definitely the end of me and Drew McIntyre. What’s next for me is I’m gonna take a long hot shower, I’m going to try and find some donuts and I got myself a main event to watch cause I’m very interested in the results: GUNTHER vs. Randy Orton and some people like to say ‘May the best man win,’ but in this case, ‘May the best man win cause the better man is coming for ya.’ I want the gold, I’m coming for you, sucka.”

Punk’s win leaves many people speculating if he’s really done with Drew. The feud could be all the more cemented as Punk also regained hold of the bracelet he and Drew have been battling over. However, the two stand at one victory apiece, meaning a rubber match is ready for the taking and it could culminate at WWE Bad Blood in what many may think should be a Hell In A Cell battle.

  • Cody Rhodes Addresses Vince McMahon Docuseries & Janel Grant Case

Cody Rhodes Addresses Vince McMahon Docuseries & Janel Grant Case

Cody Rhodes took on a big leadership role following WWE Bash In Berlin after addressing a very loaded question regarding Vince McMahon.

Rhodes kicked off the post-show by addressing the media, noting that Triple H was unable to be there due to his daughter heading to college for the first time. Rhodes took several questions before he was asked if he was going watch the forthcoming “Mr. McMahon” docuseries on Netflix and why he thinks the locker room has been silent regarding the Janel Grant case. Rhodes answered both his questions and started off light-hearted by saying he was currently “deep in a Game of Thrones rewatch.”

“I think there’s a bit misinformation in terms of WWE has no involvement in this documentary as far as I know. I imagine I’d get around to seeing it.”

As far as it goes with the locker room “being silent” Rhodes offered a different perspective for the talent.

“I don’t think that’s a matter of ‘belief’ vs. ‘non-belief’ I think it’s strictly speaking we want to be doing what we’re doing out there and the focus and attention it takes: 13,149 people to have a great story and have a great match and do that every single night has left most of us where we’re finding the information out just as you are and that includes the resolution of this information in terms of what happened, how it happened and how justice comes about whatever it may be, but I wouldn’t look at it as an active attempt from the locker to be silent in the attempt we just are doing what we do, day-to-day, WWE business.”

Rhodes was also asked if he believed in Janel Grant and he stated that he didn’t have enough information to know either way. The Mr. McMahon docuseries is set to release on September 25.

  • GUNTHER Shakes Hands With Randy Orton After Title Defense

GUNTHER Shakes Hands With Randy Orton After Title Defense

GUNTHER retained against Randy Orton, but ‘The Viper’ did something surprising to close out Bash In Berlin.

Orton lost clean to ‘The Ring General’ after he was choked out via several sleeper hold attempts. The match however, was a lot in favor to Orton as GUNTHER was actually the one to fight underneath against the future WWE Hall of Famer.

Randy was really soaking it in with the record-breaking crowd in Berlin, Germany as the main event got underway and he gave it to GUNTHER in so many ways. Orton ended up hitting a RKO on GUNTHER.

During the Bash In Berlin post-show, Cody Rhodes took a moment to thank both Orton and GUNTHER “for the house” tonight in Berlin and they did deliver for a hot crowd. Orton performed a massive spot on GUNTHER at ringside when he set up steel steps to deliver an elevated belly-to-back suplex through the commentary table.

Orton was ready to strike once again when the action got back into the ring, but GUNTHER corrected course and did cinch in his patented sleeper hold. Orton fought free briefly but GUNTHER kept in control and got Randy to pass out.

After the fight, GUNTHER took a moment to extend a hand to Orton and Randy accepted the handshake without any treachory following it.

Following Randy’s exit, GUNTHER spoke in German to the fans and while it still needs to be translated in English, he did mention Triple H in his speech.

The match appeared to come out of nowhere, with Orton challenging the longest-reigning Intercontinental Champion following his World Title win at SummerSlam. Considering the stature of Orton as a legend in the game, it did make sense to have someone of his caliber take the loss against the Austrian Superstar to kickstart his title reign.

GUNTHER would end up taking the win after Orton passed out in a rear naked choke.

  • Terror Twins Defeat Dom Mysterio & Liv Morgan At WWE Bash In Berlin 2024

Terror Twins Defeat Dom Mysterio & Liv Morgan At WWE Bash In Berlin 2024

Even the numbers game wasn’t enough to stop the Terror Twins in Rhea Ripley and Damian Priest at Bash In Berlin.

Priest and Ripley had the crowd fully behind them as they took it to Liv Morgan and Dominik Mysterio over the course of their mixed tag match which was fourth on the card for the record-setting PLE. The offense for Ripley and Priest was impressive as the two made sure to hit a stereo Razor’s Edge on their enemies. It all looked over at that juncture, but the rest of Judgment Day came into play, attempting to stop the duo from getting the W.

With interferences from JD McDonagh, Finn Balor and Carlito, The Terror Twins’ chances at winning looked terribel, but their were several false finishes which included a 619 attempt by Dominik Mysterio. Dom looked like he had Damian dead to rights as both men were brawling on the commentary tables, but Priest put Dirty Dom down after he took out the rest of Judgment Day. This in turn, isolated Liv as she slowly turned around to get a headbutt, a Riptide and the pinfall loss.

Post-fight, Wade Barrett said on commentary that he didn’t think this feud was over, so one would expect the grudge to continue.

The first four matches on the card had all babyfaces winning their respective bouts as Cody Rhodes defeated an also babyface in Kevin Owens while Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair became the new WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions and CM Punk put Drew McIntyre in his place in the strap match.

Rhea Ripley will certainly have added incentive to continue her feud with Morgan considering Liv still holds onto the WWE Women’s World Championship. There’s plenty of “bad blood” between the two so one could speculate they’ll be battling each other at the PLE with that very name,

  • WWE Bash In Berlin Breaks Major Company Record

WWE Bash In Berlin Breaks Major Company Record

WWE Bash In Berlin made history in so many ways for the company and that even includes the breaking of a notable record.

Following the CM Punk vs. Drew McIntyre strap match which was third on the PLE card, one of the German announcers revealed to the live crowd in the Uber Arena that Bash In Berlin now holds the highest-grossing arena show in the company’s long history, beating out Clash At The Castle. Triple H originally revealed the news before the PLE, but Cole did note the show was sold out with an attendance number of 13,149.

If the crowd reaction has had any indication as to how well-received the PLE has been so far, the number shouldn’t be surprising. The Berlin crowd has been fully invested into the show with every competitor three matches in getting big reactions.

Cody Rhodes ended up retaining his WWE Undisputed Championship against Kevin Owens, while Jade Cargill & Bianca Belair once again became the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions against The Unholy Union. Then CM Punk finally got his retribution (and his bracelet), winning his strap match against McIntyre. The full card for Bash In Berlin also includes Rhea Ripley & Damian Priest vs. Dominik Mysterio & Liv Morgan as well as GUNTHER vs. Randy Orton for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

It might be several months before WWE potentially reaches such a number again for an arena, but the company is certainly riding plenty of momentum in 2024 and they got a returning PLE forthcoming in WWE Bad Blood.

The feud between the two men has been ongoing since before the Royal Rumble, and escalated when Punk was ‘deliberately’ injured by McIntyre during the 30-man match.

This Strap Match was confirmed in recent weeks on RAW, and it is likely that the blow off for the feud will be at Bad Blood in a Hell in a Cell match.

  • Kevin Owens For Now Maintains Composure Against Cody Rhodes

Kevin Owens For Now Maintains Composure Against Cody Rhodes

It was Cody Rhodes vs. Kevin Owens who fired off Bash In Berlin and the two allies didn’t disappoint, but are they allies for long?

Berlin was all about cheering for both fighters during the opening match as dueling chants echoed throughout the Uber Arena, much like the action in the bout itself.

The underlying story was that Cody was fighting with a rumored knee injury as Michael Cole and Wade Barrett put a good deal of focus on Cody’s struggle. Owens hit two major high spots to take it to Cody including an avalanche brainbuster and a top rop senton.

Owens showed frustration when those spots didn’t keep Rhodes down and matters begin to escalate when Cody jammed his knee after an attempted Cody Cutter. Owens eyed the knee, but stopped himself from acting. Cody shoved Owens, telling him he can still fight and that made KO fired up. He almost did his devastating apron powerbomb but stopped himself once again.

The fight did wage on as both men hit finishers, but the tide turned when Cody got his knees up for a KO swanton attempt. Not long after Rhodes hit the Cross Rhodes and secured the 1-2-3.

Post fight, Owens was clearly frustrated, but swallowed some humble pie to embrace Cody and raise his hand.

Even though Owens didn’t turn heel tonight, that doesn’t mean he won’t in weeks to come. Triple H has proven to let storylines slowly develop and not make matters immediate. One matter is for certain is that Berlin was hot for both men for the opening match.

  • Updated: WrestleMania 2026 Location Not Locked In Yet

Updated: WrestleMania 2026 Location Not Locked In Yet

The location for WrestleMania 42 in 2026 has not been locked in just yet.

Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro got people talking when he stated that the biggest wrestling show of the year will be coming back to Philadelphia so soon, after hosting the PPV just this year.

In a Q&A video posted on X, Shapiro was asked if anything ‘cool’ was scheduled in Philadelphia for America’s 250th anniversary in 2026.

In the answer to the question, the Governor counted a number of big sporting events that were scheduled for the area, including the FIFA World Cup, Major League Baseball All-Star Game and WrestleMania.

This inclusion was surprising as WWE usually makes a big deal of any WrestleMania developments and fans would expect a big announcement if the location had indeed been decided.

WrestleMania 42 Location Not Locked In

PWInsider provided an update on the situation after the video went viral saying that WWE sources ‘across the board’ were pretty surprised by this claim as it was not something that had been discussed internally.

The site also claimed that a well-placed source who would be involved in such decision-making had expressed that a location for WrestleMania 42 had not been locked in as of Saturday morning.

Josh Shapiro has since taken down the original video, further suggesting that he might have been talking about some other event or WWE as a whole instead of the specific show.

The Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia hosted WrestleMania 40 with an attendance record of 120,239 across both nights. Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas has been announced to host the 41th edition of the show on April 19 & 20 next year.

Update: Manuel Bonder, Spokesman for Governor Shapiro issued a statement to Fightful Select confirming that the claim made in the video was a mistake:

“This statement was mistaken, and we apologize for the confusion amid all the incredible events Pennsylvania is excited to host in 2026. While WrestleMania won’t be here in ‘26, we look forward to continuing to work with WWE and wrestling fans all across our Commonwealth to bring more great events to PA in the future,”

In addition, WrestleVotes sources note that WWE supposedly decided on the location for WrestleMania 42 months ago but they’re not ready to make the announcement just yet:

The Undisputed WWE Champion recently had an interview with Inside The Ropes. He discussed things such as how his daughter motivates him to continue working hard, his AEW exit, and more.

When the topic of the build to WrestleMania 40 came up, Cody was asked about comments made by The Rock’s personal writer Brian Gewirtz about his infamous segment with The People’s Champ. Gewirtz had expressed that Rhodes could have looked more enthusiastic while handing his Mania opportunity to The Great One.

The American Nightmare explained that Brian might be right because things were so real that he wasn’t thinking of himself as a performer in the moment:

“He might have a point. He might, only because I didn’t think of myself. The moment was so real—I guess I didn’t think of myself in a performance sense of ‘You’re not smiling or you are smiling,’ and then the Final Boss had whispered something in my ear that was actually really kind and nice, and I did smile.

And then, I think not so much about my face; the thing I remember about it is I wanted to get out of there. I wanted to get out of there. I did want them to have their moment. I wanted to be gone. I didn’t want people to linger on me.”

    Cody Rhodes’ Boo Boo Face

The segment in question happened during the February 2 episode of SmackDown, days after Rhodes won the 2024 Royal Rumble.

Due to his expressions, fans started a huge campaign on social media rejecting the idea of The Rock taking his spot. The backlash forced the Hollywood star to change his plans and it put Cody back on the path to finish his story.

Talking about his expressions during the segment, Cody Rhodes explained that he didn’t think the production would focus so much on him. He was just looking to get out of the spotlight as soon as possible:

“It seems like…I would never shade our production team, especially with what Brian Fadem, and Lee Fitting – everyone is doing. I think they might have spent a little too much time focused on me in the first place—and not focused on that potential matchup. Because, yeah, I don’t think I offered up, Brian probably has a point, I don’t think I offered up the best faces for what that should have been.

I certainly wasn’t trying to be a ‘boo-boo’ face—you know, boo boo is famous in the industry when something’s up and you can tell upon somebody’s entrance. But maybe I was like the number one case of it of all time—who knows?

I did not think they would spend so much time on me. I did not think they would be looking at me while I was in the aisle. I just wanted to get back to my bus. I actually didn’t go through gorilla; I walked around it. I didn’t want to see anybody. I just sprinted and got on my bus and just locked the door.”

Cody Rhodes is currently scheduled to defend his Undisputed WWE Championship against Kevin Owens at the Bash In Berlin PPV on August 31. You can check out the betting odds for the show here.

  • Giovanni Vinci’s WWE SmackDown Debut Set For Next Week (9/6)

Giovanni Vinci’s WWE SmackDown Debut Set For Next Week (9/6)

Fans should gear up for the highly anticipated return of Giovanni Vinci next week. After weeks of teasing through various vignettes, the former Imperium member is set to make his comeback.

During Friday’s WWE SmackDown tapings in Berlin, a video aired announcing Vinci’s return on the September 6 episode of the show.

The vignettes have depicted Vinci in a manner reminiscent of his early NXT persona—enjoying lavish settings, sipping top-shelf drinks, and cruising in luxury cars.

Vinci has been absent from WWE programming since an April episode of WWE RAW, following a loss to New Day that led to a brutal attack by his former ally, Ludwig Kaiser. Kaiser’s assault with steel steps sidelined Vinci for several months. Shortly after, during the WWE Draft, Vinci was quietly moved to SmackDown.

The recent teases suggest Vinci will maintain his heel persona, but character shifts in WWE are always possible. Separating him from his former Imperium comrades might breathe new life into his character, who often played a supporting role within the faction.

While Kaiser and GUNTHER remain aligned, Imperium is no longer emphasized as a faction. With GUNTHER’s World Heavyweight Title victory, all three members are now receiving a greater focus on their individual careers.

    Bash in Berlin Predictions

WWE Title Match: Cody Rhodes (c) vs Kevin Owens

Cody Rhodes will defend his WWE Title against Kevin Owens in what promises to be decent in-ring. Rhodes, fresh off his SummerSlam victory, chose Owens as his next opponent to thank him for his help against the Bloodline.

Despite Owens initially rejecting the handout, Rhodes was able to convince him. WWE has multiple routes to explore with this storyline, from Owens turning on Rhodes to setting up a feud for the fall.

    Prediction: Cody Rhodes retains

WWE Women’s Tag Team Title Match: The Unholy Union (Alba Fyre & Isla Dawn) (c) vs Bianca Belair & Jade Cargill

Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill are set to reclaim their WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles from Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn. Since their victory in Scotland, Fyre and Dawn haven’t been spotlighted as a significant act, leading many to believe that Belair and Cargill, a makeshift team, will regain their titles.

    Prediction: Belair & Cargill win

Mixed Tag Team Match: Damian Priest & Rhea Ripley vs Dominik Mysterio & Liv Morgan

The Judgment Day faction faces the ‘Terror Twins’ as Damian Priest and Rhea Ripley take on Dominik Mysterio and Liv Morgan. With the new Judgment Day having only just formed and Finn Balor likely to interfere to set up a match at Bad Blood, it is likely that Dom and Liv will take the win here.

    Prediction: Mysterio & Morgan win

Strap Match: CM Punk vs Drew McIntyre

This strap match between CM Punk and Drew McIntyre, a “touch all the corners” bout, could lead to a future Hell in a Cell match, which is what we’re expecting at Bad Blood. Given the buildup, McIntyre is likely to continue his winning streak against Punk.

    Prediction: Drew McIntyre wins

WWE World Heavyweight Title Match: Gunther (c) vs. Randy Orton

Gunther defends his WWE World Heavyweight Title against Randy Orton in a highly anticipated match. Gunther’s recent success and the buildup to this bout suggest he will retain his championship against the former Legend Killer.

  • Dominik Mysterio Reveals What Fueled His ‘Bad Guy’ Run

Dominik Mysterio Reveals What Fueled His ‘Bad Guy’ Run

The Judgment Day’s Dominik Mysterio is one of the most hated heels in WWE and he might be the only wrestler to ‘turn heel while being a heel.’ ‘Dirty Dom,’ the son of WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio has perfectly embraced his villainous role since September 2022 and he is showered with boos whenever he shows up.

Dominik Mysterio took his heel status up by a notch when he betrayed his ‘Mami’ Rhea Ripley and shockingly kissed Liv Morgan at SummerSlam. Speaking with the NY Post, the second-generation wrestler said that locking lips with Morgan fueled his heel run and he is blessed for the opportunities. He said:

“I think I’m one of the only people, if not the only person to turn heel while already being the heel. It’s kind of just pouring more gasoline on the fire at that point. It’s just really cool. I’m just blessed for all the opportunities and I’m thankful for them. I’m just doing me. They hate me because I’m pretty.”

    – Dominik Mysterio

The Judgment saga is not yet over and Rhea Ripley & Damian Priest (The Terror Twins) are trying to seek revenge on Liv Morgan and Dominik Mysterio. Mysterio and Morgan will team up to face Ripley and fellow former Judgment Day member Priest at Bash in Berlin. WWE’s first PLE in Germany will emanate from the Uber Arena on Saturday, August 31.
