  • WWE Denies Report of Performance Center Move to Las Vegas

WWE Denies Report of Performance Center Move to Las Vegas

On Tuesday, a rumor began to circulate suggesting that WWE could consider moving its Performance Center to Las Vegas, Nevada. WrestleVotes reported that during an “all-employee” meeting held at WWE HQ, staff were told the PC would be moving to Sin City sometime “in the near future.”

Following WrestleVotes’ report, Fightful Select revealed that sources within WWE strongly denied that the company had definite plans to relocate the Performance Center to Las Vegas. This information came from “Top sources” within both WWE and TKO. In a statement on X, Sean Ross Sapp mentioned that one source indicated that Mark Shapiro, the executive named in the original report, was expressing that “…having a presence there is on the table.”

Despite this, WrestleVotes maintains that the initial report stating that WWE has plans to move the PC to Las Vegas potentially is still a reality and that the process would not be an “overnight thing.”

In July 2013, WWE opened the Performance Center in Orlando, Florida, which became the company’s second primary location after WWE headquarters in Stamford, Connecticut. The Performance Center replaced the original developmental initiative, “Florida Championship Wrestling.” Since then, the facility has been used for training/tryouts, and is the current home of the NXT band.

The move itself would make sense from a business standpoint. Since 2017, UFC has used Nevada as a base for both its company headquarters, “The UFC Performance Institute,” and its live event center, “The UFC Apex.”

Since both WWE and UFC became divisions TKO Group Holdings Inc. in September 2023, the conglomerate has made it clear that while the two companies operate separately, there would be opportunities for cross-promotional partnerships. In June, WWE held NXT: Battleground at UFC’s Apex, with both fans and those inside TKO touting the event as a wildly successful example of how the two giants in combat sports and entertainment could work together.

The WWE Performance Center Has Hosted Many WWE Events Aside From NXT

Aside from being the home of WWE’s developmental brand and main training facility, the venue has also been used to stage other major events for the company throughout its history.

The PC was famously the home of Wrestlemania 36, originally scheduled to be hosted inside Raymond James Stadium. However, the COVID-19 pandemic forced WWE to move the event to the Performance Center. It became a two-night event in front of no audience. WWE also used the space to host episodes of RAW, SmackDown, Main Event, 205 Live, and four main roster PPVs before moving main roster shows to the “Thunderdome.”

In September 2021, the company redesigned the NXT set, ushering in the “NXT 2.0” relaunch of the developmental brand. While the “2.0” branding has been dropped in recent years, the arena’s new configuration has remained consistent.

  • Jesse Ventura Pitched a WWE Political Party to Vince McMahon

Jesse Ventura Pitched a WWE Political Party to Vince McMahon

Vince McMahon may have approved some unique angles during his time, but the idea of a WWE political party proved too much for the billionaire. On a recent edition of the Insight podcast, WWE Hall of Famer/Former Minnesota Governor Jesse Ventura shared the angle he pitched to McMahon.

“I went out to him and I said ‘Vince, we can do an angle right now. You can come out with the WWE and say we’re going to have our own nominee for president, the WWE party, the World Wrestling Party.’”

Ventura’s idea included getting ballot access in all 50 states, while on-screen, McMahon would tease that he’d be the party’s official candidate in the race to the White House. Just as McMahon would announce his candidacy, he’d be interrupted by ‘The Body.’

“I’m a governor. I’m the natural WWE candidate for president, then you do a schmoz where Vince and I get two wrestlers to represent us. Whoever wins gets the nomination.”

The match would see Ventura’s representative get the win, confirming Jesse as the official Presidential candidate representing the WWE Party. When asked why the angle didn’t play out, Ventura shared that McMahon didn’t bother to tell him ‘no.’

“He didn’t even bother to call me to turn me down. I thought that was the most disrespectful thing…  If he did just called me and said, Jesse, it’s too crazy. It’s too hokey. I don’t think we can do it. I would have said fine. I gave it a try. But he didn’t even call me back.”

While the WWE Party never left the drawing board, McMahon would be represented in a high-profile match with something on the line at WrestleMania 23. The ‘Battle of the Billionaires’ saw Donald Trump’s representative Bobby Lashley defeat McMahon’s Umaga, resulting in McMahon having his head shaved bald.

    Wrestling & Politics

The WWE Party won’t be on the ballot this November, but plenty of wrestlers have attempted to enter the world of politics. Glenn ‘Kane’ Jacobs currently serves as the Mayor of Knox County, TN, and recently shared some strong words for the Democratic Party’s Kamala Harris and Tim Walz.

The late Antonio Inoki was elected twice to Japan’s House of Councillors while The Great Sasuke was elected to Iwate’s Prefectural Assembly in 2003. In 2017, Linda McMahon, who lost two senate campaigns, was appointed Administrator, Small Business Administration, under President Trump.

Perhaps the most internationally recognized wrestler to enter office is known more for his political career than his time in the ring. Before his rise to political history, Abraham Lincoln wrestled in his teens and reportedly trained in catch-as-catch-can wrestling.

The future President held championship gold by the age of 21. According to eyewitness accounts at the time, a frustrated Lincoln once lifted an opponent who was fighting dirty by the neck, raised him in the air, and slammed him into the ground, a move not too different from today’s Chokeslam.

Ventura himself served as Governor of Minnesota from 1999 to 2003. The WWE Hall of Famer has teased running for President in the past but has never gone much further than that. He has endorsed the Harris/Walz ticket for this November’s election.

WWE Introducing New Commentary Line-Ups for RAW & SmackDown

WWE has announced significant shakeups to the commentary teams of its two flagship shows, WWE Raw and WWE SmackDown. The changes take effect over the next couple weeks, starting with next week’s Raw and completing the following Friday, when SmackDown returns to the USA Network after a 5-year run on FOX.

    Michael Cole Shifts to SmackDown

Corey Graves filled in for Pat McAfee at the commentary booth for this week’s WWE Raw. McAfee is on hiatus and is returning to his other gig hosting ESPN College GameDay. Graves and Cole will reunite on September 13 for WWE SmackDown’s big homecoming on the USA Network. The duo has worked extensively together over the years and is regarded as one of WWE’s strongest teams.

    Enter Joe Tessitore

With today’s “Voice of WWE” changing brands, WWE has tapped veteran broadcaster Joe Tessitore to serve as the new lead announcer for Raw starting next Monday, September 2, 2024. Tessitore has decades of experience in broadcasting, including working with ESPN doing play-by-play for Monday Night Football and coincidentally College Game Day.

Wade Barrett joins Tessitore on Monday nights. Former Nexus leader has proven himself to be an asset in recent years; calling action on Raw, SmackDown and NXT.

  • Jesse Ventura Has a New WWE Legends Deal

Jesse Ventura Has a New WWE Legends Deal

WWE Hall of Famer Jesse ‘The Body’ Ventura has reached a new contract with WWE that just needs a handful of signatures to be made official. On the Insight podcast, Ventura was asked about his status with the company.

“I can say this, contracts have been written, contracts have been agreed upon. And all it requires is two signatures, one from them, and one from me. And I will be back with the legends.”

When asked if there’s a time frame on when this deal will be finalized, Ventura added that it’ll be “fairly quickly” and agreed with the age-old adage that “time is money.” The WWE Hall of Famer agreed with the suggestion that this new contract has been helped by the exit of Vince McMahon.

    Jesse Ventura and WWE

Ventura has had a contested relationship with WWE in the past, stemming from his attempts to form a wrestling union. Vince McMahon was informed of these plans by Hulk Hogan, according to Ventura, who promptly fired ‘The Body’ from the company.

Ventura’s relationship with McMahon was also soured when Jesse sued for royalties in 1991 when he learned that other non-featured performers received royalties for videotape sales. Jesse had previously been told that only featured performers received such royalties. Ventura won $801,333 on a jury verdict from Titan Sports and the judge awarded him $8,625 in back pay for all non-video WWF merchandising.

Ventura was at the July 29, 2024, edition of WWE RAW, which took place in his beloved Minnesota. Borrowing a line from CM Punk, Ventura said that “hell froze over” again, referencing his previous issues with the company.

Ventura has decades of experience in the wrestling industry and has been able to make a name for himself in politics and entertainment out of the ring. With this new contract seemingly finalized, fans can expect to see much more of ‘The Body’ in WWE projects.

  • Rey Mysterio’s WWE RAW Promo On Dominik & Liv Morgan Translated

Rey Mysterio’s WWE RAW Promo On Dominik & Liv Morgan Translated

Rey Mysterio had some choice words for Dominik Mysterio and Liv Morgan during this week’s RAW, which have now been translated into English. In the show’s opening segment, the Judgment Day was interrupted by Rey and the other members of the Latino World Order.

Rey delivered a promo that saw him switch back and forth between English and Spanish. Thanks to Alfred Konuwa of Forbes, we know exactly how much Rey disapproves of his son’s relationship with the WWE Women’s World Champion.

Ironically, this isn’t the first time that a Mysterio has used being bilingual to get comments to air that may not have been broadcast in English. In the run-up to SummerSlam 2024, Dominik had some scathing words for Morgan, as he called her a “dumbass” and a “b***.” This would ultimately turn out to be a ruse as the pair confirmed their relationship at the PLE in Cleveland, Ohio.

    WWE RAW’s Move to Netflix

Mysterio may not have to self-censor on Monday Night RAW next year when WWE’s flagship weekly show moves to Netflix. The blockbuster deal will see RAW move off broadcast television and is estimated at $5 billion over ten years.

Much has been said about potential changes to the red brand once the moves occurs. The show will no longer be held to network rules regarding censorship or adhere to strict timing cues that they currently have to work with on the USA Network. John Cena has confirmed his role as part of RAW’s move to Netflix, as the WWE icon will be kicking off his retirement tour.

  • WWE’s Bianca Belair to Feature in Season Three Episode of Bel-Air

WWE’s Bianca Belair to Feature in Season Three Episode of Bel-Air

Bianca Belair is set to appear in an upcoming episode of Bel-Air when the new episode of the hit show drops later this week. The EST has been confirmed for season three of Bel-Air, a modern-day spin-off of the 90s TV classic The Fresh Prince of Belair. Belair will appear in the season’s seventh episode titled Black Lotus. A description for the episode in question reads:

Viv and Phil spend some quality time together at a resort in Mexico; Will is stuck in a hard place between his family and chosen family.

WWE has shared a clip of Belair’s involvement with the episode.

This marks Belair’s acting debut on TV but not her first role outside of the squared circle. Belair is one of the lead names in the reality TV series Love & WWE: Bianca & Montez. The show’s eight episodes detail the careers and lives of Belair and her husband Montez Ford with episodes ranging from dealing with the stress of WrestleMania to deciding about possibly having children of their own.

    What’s to Come?

Belair is currently competing as part of WWE’s ongoing tour of Europe and will be in action this Saturday at WWE Bash in Berlin. In Germany’s Uber Arena, she and Jade Cargill will challenge the Unholy Union (Alba Fyre & Isla Dawn) for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships. Belair is also being promoted for the SmackDown in Berlin that’ll take place the night prior to the PLE.

Belair has a somewhat mixed experience competing in Europe. She and Cargill won the titles at WWE Backlash: France but lost the gold to Fyre and Dawn at WWE Clash At The Castle: Scotland. Stay tuned to SEScoops for all the latest on WWE Bash in Berlin including breaking news and live results this week.

  • What Happened With Uncle Howdy After (8/26) Raw Went Off Air

What Happened With Uncle Howdy After (8/26) Raw Went Off Air

The buzz surrounding Uncle Howdy didn’t stop or waver once this week’s episode of WWE Monday Night RAW went off the air. In the show’s main event, Howdy defeated Chad Gable in the dark character’s in-ring debut. This match comes close to two years after Howdy was first introduced on WWE TV as part of Bray Wyatt’s 2022 return to the promotion. This was Bo Dallas’ first match in WWE since November 13, 2019, when he was part of a tag-team match that ironically also included Gable.

After his victory over Gable and once the cameras stopped rolling, Howdy remained in the ring and struck poses associated with his late brother. The crowd played their part, as they shone the ‘fireflies’ associated with Wyatt. As Howdy made his way to the entrance, he raised one hand, clearly in memory of the former WWE World Champion.

WWE Monday Night RAW – August 26

This week’s WWE RAW took place from Providence, Rhode Island and served as the go-home RAW before WWE Bash In Berlin this Saturday. The results of the show are as follows:

    • The Judgment Day defeated the LWO in an eight-man tag-team match
    • Damage CTRL defeated Pure Fusion Collective
    • Jey Uso defeated Kofi Kingston and Karrion Kross in a triple-threat Intercontinental Title qualifier tournament match
    • Bronson Reed Vs. Braun Strowman went to a no contest. Reed slammed Strowman with a Tsunami onto a car roof.
    • Pete Dunne defeated The Miz and Xavier Woods in a triple-threat Intercontinental Title qualifier tournament match
    • Uncle Howdy defeated Chad Gable

  • Cody Rhodes Teases Belgium PLE at WWE Brussels Live Event

Cody Rhodes Teases Belgium PLE at WWE Brussels Live Event

WWE could be hosting a Premium Live Event in Belgium down the line if comments made this week by Cody Rhodes are to be believed. Rhodes, like much of the roster, is taking part in WWE’s ongoing tour of Europe that’ll conclude this weekend with the WWE Bash in Berlin PLE on August 31.

On August 26, WWE hosted a live event in Brussels that saw Rhodes defeat AJ Styles to retain his title in the show’s main event. Afterward, Rhodes grabbed a fan’s sign that read ‘Belgium Wants A PLE.’ Cody told the fans that based on the raucous reactions all night long, it feels like Belgium deserves a PLE.

    WWE’s International PLEs

This isn’t the first time Rhodes has teased bringing a PLE to outside of the United States. In July, Rhodes advocated for a PLE in Mexico at a live event in Mexico City. Back in April, Rhodes appeared in London and agreed with John Cena that not only does the UK deserve another PLE, but the UK deserves to host WWE’s biggest event: WrestleMania.

WWE has embraced hosting international PLEs in recent years and 2024 has proven to be a pivotal year for that movement. In 2024, WWE will host eight main roster PLEs outside of the United States, while just four events will have happened in the U.S. Stay tuned to SEScoops for all the latest on WWE PLEs as the promotion continues to embrace going overseas for its biggest shows of the year.

  • Damian Priest Pays Tribute To Sid Eudy On WWE RAW After Legend’s Death

Damian Priest Pays Tribute To Sid Eudy On WWE RAW After Legend’s Death

Damian Priest shared a unique tribute to Sid Eudy on this week’s RAW, following the former WWE Champion’s passing aged 63. Eudy, better known to fans as Sycho Sid and Sid Vicious, died after a battle with cancer and his passing was confirmed via a statement on Facebook by his son Gunnar.

On WWE RAW, Damian Priest and Rhea Ripley fended off an attack by The New Judgment Day. In the segment, Priest can be heard shouting “We are the masters and rulers of this world!” to the faction he was once part of. This was a line that Sid used throughout his career and Priest and Ripley proceeded to destroy JD McDonagh and Carlito.

Priest is one of several wrestlers to pay tribute to Sid as heartfelt messages have been pouring in from talent who knew the former WWE and WCW World Champion.

    What’s Next?

Priest and Ripley will compete this Saturday at the first-ever WWE Bash in Berlin Premium Live Event that will take place in the city’s Uber Arena. On the show, the Terror Twins will take on WWE Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley and ‘Dirty’ Dominik Mysterio. After a tag-team of betrayals at SummerSlam, Priest & Ripley have vowed to bring hurt to the new Judgment Day and plan on doing exactly that in Europe later this week.

  • Rikishi Says Jey Uso is Underpaid & Underutilized – “The Kid Is So Good, WWE Ain’t The Only Spot”

Rikishi Says Jey Uso is Underpaid & Underutilized – “The Kid Is So Good, WWE Ain’t The Only Spot”

WWE Hall of Famer Rikishi continues to express disappointment with the promotion over the booking of his son Jey Uso. The fan-favorite superstar has remained one of the top “Babyfaces” in the company but has yet to win a singles championship.

Rikishi has previously lashed out at the company for not allowing his son to win Money In The Bank. Uso responded to his father’s comments on the Ringer Wrestling Show podcast and jokingly shared that he told his dad to watch him work and enjoy the show. On his Off The Top podcast, Rikishi called out WWE again for not giving his son the opportunities he deserves.

“…I’m at this point where I just want to call my son, hey go ahead and just take a break because obviously them writers don’t know where to put you or where to write something that’s right for the character of Jey Uso.”

Rikishi thinks Uso should be a World Champion by now due to his fanbase, questions if WWE is paying him fairly, and suggests he should explore opportunities elsewhere.

“…WWE is making money off the Yeet Man (Uso). The Yeet Man is making money himself, but the only difference is the Yeet Man is working for his money.”

Rikishi Suggests Jey Uso Explore Working Elsewhere

Rikishi explained that his son has done well with merchandise, and the company is profiting from Uso’s success but not rewarding him. He also believes that Uso can succeed in All Elite Wrestling and get paid more than working for WWE.

“…The kid is so good. WWE ain’t the only spot. He can probably go to AEW, if he wanted, and write his own ticket. Maybe more than what WWE is making on him.

So you know, at the end of the day, man, this is a wrestler talking. I utilize my platform to each one teach one, but it just so happened that we talking about my boy, the Yeet Man. So hopefully, they turn it around and do the right thing behind the Yeet Man.”

    – Rikishi

Jey Uso will compete in a #1 contender’s tournament to decide who will challenge Intercontinental Champion Bron Breakker at WWE Bad Blood on October 5.

Prior to announcing his intentions to compete in the tournament, he was teasing being in a tag team with Sami Zayn. However, Zayn is currently out of action and undergoing stem cell therapy.

He has also been teased to be involved with Rhea Ripley as she feuds with Dominik Mysterio and Liv Morgan. Before the breakup between “Mamí” and “Dirty Dom,” Uso showed interest in Ripley, which caused Mysterio to be jealous. In addition, the former WWE Women’s World Champion has continued referencing on social media, as fans believe he will eventually come to her rescue to go against the new power couple. During the Judgement Day’s (Finn Balor, Carlito, JD McDonagh, Mysterio & Morgan) assault on Ripley and Damian Priest on the August 19 WWE Raw, the audience was chanting for Uso to make the save.

Despite the creative direction WWE seems to be taking Uso and being featured as a top “Babyface” superstar on Monday Night Raw, Rikishi is pushing hard for his son to get more opportunities. Like LaVar Ball did for his sons, the wrestling legend continues to be vocal about helping Uso succeed in his career.

  • WWE Pitched Ronda Rousey vs. Becky Lynch For ‘Evolution 2’

WWE Pitched Ronda Rousey vs. Becky Lynch For ‘Evolution 2’

Ronda Rousey has shed light on WWE’s questionable decision to never run a second WWE Evolution all-women’s premium live event. The former WWE and UFC champion tells DS Shin of Ring The Belle that WWE had creative plans in place for her to face Becky Lynch at WWE Evolution 2.

[They said to her] “Ronda, if you stay after WrestleMania we’ll have another Evolution in six weeks, and have you and Becky as a singles.”

While the pitch was exciting, Rousey has been more focused on spending time with her family at this stage of her career.

“I was like, ‘no. I already asked too much of my family. I can’t ask anymore.’ I promised them this. I promised… I promised them I would only stay this long and I’m not going to keep moving the goalpost.”

Rousey is no longer with WWE, but has full confidence an Evolution 2 could be very successful. She’s hopeful WWE brings the event back and is happy with what she contributed to the first one. She doesn’t think she’s needed for a second installment, and hopes believes enough in their women’s roster to make it happen.

John Cena Sent “Concussed” Eric André To The Hospital

Eric André has revealed that he once got injured while receiving a move from WWE legend and Hollywood star John Cena.

André feels that getting injured is part of his work and across six seasons of The Eric Andre Show, the 41-year-old comedian has suffered several injuries. Andre spoke to PEOPLE and recalled a season 5 episode where the 16-time World Champion drove him through a shelf. This left Eric André concussed and was rushed to the hospital.

“It’s pretty common.I got through the shelf okay, but we forgot to sandbag the shelf — the frame of the shelf — so the metal frame tipped over and knocked me in the head. I got a concussion and went to the hospital.”

In another instance, Andre accidentally punched through a window while filming a prank in Brooklyn. He recalled having stitches and went to the hospital:

“I was trying to hammer the window, but my whole hands went through,” he says. “It sliced me up, and I had to get stitches. I had to go to the hospital for that.”

The pranks during The Eric Andre Show make it one of the wildest and entertaining shows on TV. But sometimes things go south and the host ends up getting injured.

Andre’s comedy has earned him a couple of Emmy nominations this year, one for Outstanding Performer in a Short Form Comedy or Drama series and another for Outstanding Short Form Comedy, Drama of Variety Series.

Meanwhile, John Cena returned to WWE at last month’s Money In The Bank PLE and announced his retirement tour next year. His latest movie, Jackpot!, an action comedy directed by Paul Feig was released on Prime Video on August 15th.

  • Liv Morgan ‘Revenge Tour’ Is Not Over Yet

Liv Morgan ‘Revenge Tour’ Is Not Over Yet

WWE Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan is not yet done with her ‘Revenge Tour’.

She told TMZ Sports that there’s still some gas left in the tank and she is not willing to put an end to the ‘tour’. While Morgan initially said that her Revenge Tour is complete, she admitted that she’s thought over the idea again. She has some more ideas in mind with the ‘Revenge Tour.’

“Right now, I don’t think it’s over ’cause I still think I have a little gas left in the tank,” she said.

Morgan launched her Revenge Tour after she returned in the 2024 Women’s Royal Rumble match and had her sights set on then-Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley, who took her out of action.

Liv Morgan managed to seek revenge on ‘The Eradicator’ after sidelining the latter with an attack. Morgan had been trying to steal everything from Ripley, including Dominik Mysterio. Liv Morgan had earlier captured the Women’s World title and after pursuing ‘Dirty Dom’ for weeks, Morgan got what she wanted. She managed to ‘steal’ Dominik Mysterio from Ripley.

Morgan successfully retained her title against Rhea Ripley at SummerSlam PLE after ‘Dirty Dom’ betrayed his ‘Mami.’ Following the match, Morgan and Mysterio even locked lips as a shocked Rhea Ripley looked on.

Liv Morgan is set to team up with Dominik Mysterio and face Damian Priest and Rhea Ripley at Bash In Berlin on August 31.

  • Ronda Rousey Wishes WWE Had Put More Thought Into Her Rivalry With Alexa Bliss

Ronda Rousey Wishes WWE Had Put More Thought Into Her Rivalry With Alexa Bliss

Ronda Rousey learned a lot from her rivalry with Alexa Bliss but wishes WWE had put more thought into this feud.

The former WWE star recently had an interview with Ring The Belle to promote her new comic book. She talked about things such as having WWE cameos in her comics, cutting heel promos, and more.

When the topic of rivalry with the Goddess of WWE came up, Rousey mentioned how she first thought that the company was just trying to make her a better wrestler by putting her with Bliss:

“Well at the time I was like ‘Oh well maybe they’re just trying to like make me be a better wrestler and be able to sell for someone who’s as big as my leg and make it convincing.’ But really it just came down to the fact that Vince didn’t pay any attention to us and just looked at ‘Oh she sells the most merch, Ronda’s hot right now, put them together.’

That was as much thought as he put into it. That started a long legacy of having to make chicken shit into chicken salad. But I learned a lot from her. She taught me like okay we’re going to have to lead on like comedy and story and expressions and stuff like that to be able to get people into this.”

Made Me Into A Much Better Wrestler: Ronda Rousey

Ronda Rousey defeated Alexa Bliss to win her first wrestling title Raw Women’s Championship at the 2018 SummerSlam event. The two would have several more house show matches and another televised bout at Hell In A Cell before Rousey moved on to a feud with Nikki Bella.

According to the former UFC star, the ring time with Bliss taught her a lot of things and made her a much better wrestler. Though she still wishes that the company had put more thought into it:

“So it definitely made me into a much better wrestler and much more diverse in the ring and not just leaning on athleticism and spots and stuff like that when I’m dealing with somebody who is not only smaller than me and can’t support my weight or anything like that but she was also suffering from different kinds of injuries and things like that.

There were just a lot of things that were prohibitive and off limits. I’m used to working with people that are supposed to be able to withstand me actually trying to hurt them with my bare hands. Then I’m getting in there with somebody like ‘Okay I have to make this physical and believable but also take care of her.’

So that was something completely new. I learned a whole lot from that but I wish that there was a lot more thought put into it from the very top. But they were just setting the tone of like ‘Okay this is what it’s going to be. We’re going to throw stuff at you without putting any thought into it and you guys are going to have to put in the thought to make it work.’”

After Nikki Bella, Ronda Rousey would successfully defend the Raw Women’s Title against names such as Nia Jax, Sasha Banks, and Bayley. She finally dropped the title to Becky Lynch in the main event of WrestleMania 35, ending her first run with the company.

  • Sami Zayn Is The Latest WWE Superstar Using Stem Cell Therapy

Sami Zayn Is The Latest WWE Superstar Using Stem Cell Therapy

Former Intercontinental Champion Sami Zayn has joined a line of WWE Superstars to undergo Stem Cell Therapy to aid his health and career. On Instagram, The RejuvStem Medical Center shared a video of Zayn and Viking Raider Ivar at their premises in Cancun.

“You never know who is going to show up here at RejuvStem Cancun! Today we have WWE Superstar @samizayn joining WWE Superstar @ivar_wwe to receive stem cell therapy for a career’s worth of nagging injuries.

“Each superstar has spent over 20 years respectfully performing all around the world. At this stage of their respective careers, both IVAR as well as SAMI recognize the importance of taking care of their bodies so they can continue performing for the WWE Universe for years to come.

As reported earlier this week, Ivar underwent Stem Cell Therapy to aid with a career of injuries. Ivar hasn’t competed since May of this year, when he unsuccessfully challenged North American Champion Oba Femi at NXT Spring Breakin’ (Week Two.) He was promptly written off TV with an attack by Gallus. Zayn hasn’t wrestled on WWE TV since his two-out-of-three-falls defeat to Intercontinental Champion Bron Breakker on the August 12, RAW.

    ReJuvStem

Ivar and Sami Zayn are just the latest WWE Superstars to work with the RejuvStem Medical Center. Rey Mysterio has also worked with the center as has Big E, who has been out of action since March of 2022 with a broken neck. More recently, Shotzi has been working with the RejuvStem team to heal up from her ACL tear suffered earlier this year. Ivar’s tag-team partner Erik, who underwent neck fusion surgery last year, has also worked with RejuvStem.

    Stem Cells: What Are They?

Stem Cells have two main features that make them valuable in treatments such as these: they are self-replicating and can become various types of cells. Stem Cells are also considered controversial as there have been debates as to the ethics of research involving the development and use of human embryos. Not all stem cell research involves human embryos.

  • Bray Wyatt Remembered: JoJo Offerman, More Honor Late WWE Star

Bray Wyatt Remembered: JoJo Offerman, More Honor Late WWE Star

Exactly one year ago today, the world lost one of its most creative and vibrant beings in Windham Rotunda, better known to the wrestling industry as Bray Wyatt. Wyatt left an unforgettable mark on the WWE Universe in a career that spanned just over a decade. A former three-time World Champion, an accurate measure of success came from his unmatched storytelling abilities.

Today’s date brings up strong emotions for fans, colleagues, and loved ones. While we mourn, it’s also a chance to celebrate Wyatt for his contributions to professional wrestling and remember him as the friend, husband, brother, and father he was. Wyatt’s widow, Jojo Offerman, perfectly summed up this sentiment in a lengthy, heartfelt tribute to her late husband on Instagram.

“…Today is a reminder of the worst day of my life, but also a reminder to never take anything for granted. Today, like everyday, I remember you Windham, and all that you were. We miss you and we love you and life will never be the same without you…I love you, forever.

The Wrestling World Remembers Bray Wyatt

An innovator of the highest caliber, Wyatt created one of the most enthralling and authentic supernatural characters in wrestling history, with his only comparables being names like The Undertaker.

From the original Wyatt Family to The Fiend to his final run alongside Uncle Howdy, WWE fans had the privilege to watch a modern-day genus create immersive and layered stories inside and outside the ring.

Wyatt’s vision and passion were masterfully painted into this world like a rich tapestry, like an artist with an isle. As the man said, he strived to be “The color red in a world of black and white.”

Many others have shared their thoughts about Bray Wyatt on the anniversary of his passing. This includes former WWE superstars Matt Hardy and Top Dolla, as well as current RAW General Manager Adam Pearce:

On behalf of all of us here at SEScoops, we send our deepest and most sincere thoughts and prayers to all remembering Bray Wyatt today.

  • WWE Speed: Women’s Title Brackets Revealed, First Match Takes Place

WWE Speed: Women’s Title Brackets Revealed, First Match Takes Place

WWE’s hunt for the first-ever WWE Speed Women’s Champion got underway after this week’s episode of SmackDown from Washington, D.C. The title was announced earlier this month and comes after Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque confirmed that women’s matches were coming to the X-exclusive program.

    The Tournament Begins

The first-ever WWE Speed Women’s Champion will be decided in a tournament. This week, fans got their first look at the Superstars who have the chance to etch their name in the history books.

Fans at this week’s SmackDown didn’t have to wait long to see WWE Speed women’s division matches. During a dark match, Lyra Valkyria took on IYO SKY. The tournament will begin airing on X on September 4.

WWE Speed consists of three-minute matches meaning Superstars have to waste no time in order to score a victory over their opponent. Matches for the Men’s WWE Speed Championship are granted a five-minute limit. Ricochet was the first WWE Speed Champion but he has since lost the gold to current champion (and longest reigning champion) Andrade.

    WWE’s Fastest Matches

Three minutes may not seem like a lot of time, but there are some matches that more than fit this time limit. On the September 4, 2000, episode of Raw, Chris Jericho and Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler defeated Tazz and Mideon, with Lawler getting the roll-up over Tazz and his team winning in three seconds.

Aliyah scored a 3.17-second win over Natalya during a January 2022, edition of SmackDown. WWE would lean heavily into the win, with the now former Superstar receiving an ‘Aliyah 3:17’ shirt to celebrate her victory. Aliyah was released from WWE in 2023 though, so don’t expect her to be racking up wins on WWE Speed.

Watch: What Happened With Drew McIntyre After (8/23) SmackDown Went Off Air

Drew McIntyre competed in a fun dark match after this week’s episode of SmackDown from the Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C. went off air.

The Scottish Warrior wasn’t part of the show but he wrestled in one of the two dark matches of the night. In the first dark match, Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan squared off against Kairi Sane.

The second dark match then saw Drew McIntyre taking on Jey Uso. Despite being late in night, the crowd was super excited for Uso’s entrance and he got a huge ovation.

At one point in the bout, Jey tried to entice McIntyre into doing the Yeet, telling him that the crowd will stop chanting the name of CM Punk if he did so. In the end, Jey won the match after rolling Drew up for the pin.

    What Happened on SmackDown

Tonight’s episode of SmackDown featured a number of top stars in action. The Greyson Waller Effect was the opening segment of the night where a match between Waller & Theory and Cody Rhodes & Kevin Owens was made official.

During the show, LA Knight successfully defended the US Championship against Santos Escobar while The Bloodline managed to retain the tag team championships against The Street Profits, using the numbers to their advantage.

The tag team match featuring the Undisputed WWE Champion was the main event. Owens won the match for his team after pinning Waller. After the match, the company briefly teased KO turning on Cody when he had the WWE title in his hands but he ultimately decided against it.

  • Bobby Lashley Clarifies Comments On Triple H & Vince McMahon Leadership

Bobby Lashley Clarifies Comments On Triple H & Vince McMahon Leadership

Bobby Lashley has explained his recent comments about WWE’s leadership, which some took as a swipe at the current regime of Triple H. Earlier this month, Lashley said that Vince McMahon “understood me” and that the former WWE Chairman “looked at me like a star.” Lashley went on to say that he hasn’t had “too much of a connection with Hunter.”

Some fans took Lashley’s comments as a swipe at the Game, as he hadn’t appeared on WWE programming for months before this interview. Speaking more recently to The Bo and Them Show, Lashley made clear that he is not someone who speaks ill of others.

“I never bad mouth anyone, I never bad mouth the business. I left WWE in 2008. You can’t see any article where I said anything bad about the people there.”

Lashley added that “everyone was going after” him for speaking highly of his relationship with McMahon. The former WWE Champion simply stated the facts that he had more conversations with McMahon when he was in charge compared to Triple H.

“I had a different relationship with Vince. When Triple H came on, we never really had a chance to sit down. He didn’t get a chance to get to know me.”

Lashley’s profile was recently moved to the Alumni section of WWE.com following reports that his time with the promotion has come to an end. It has been stated that Lashley has attracted interest from AEW and that a Hurt Business (now dubbed the Hurt Syndicate) reunion with MVP and Shelton Benjamin remains possible.

Stay tuned to SE Scoops for all the latest on Bobby Lashley and where his wrestling career takes the former WWE and TNA World Champion next.

Belair, Cargill, and Naomi wore a series of colorful attires for this week’s WWE SmackDown which aired from the Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C. Eagle-eyed fans will have noticed that these attires were all inspired by attires Biles has worn in gymnastics.

The Biles-inspired team got the win on SmackDown. The Unholy Union and Davenport isolated Belair until The EST finally made the tag to Cargill, who emerged as a one-woman wrecking crew. Naomi got the win for her team after hitting a split-legged moonsault on Blair Davenport.
