NXT Star Backstage at Monday’s WWE Raw

WWE has recently brought in several NXT stars to work main roster shows in recent months, and this week’s episode of Raw is no different.

WWE has brought in another NXT star for the company’s flagship show; this time, it’s Zoey Stark. Pwinsider.com reports she is backstage at the show. Although not confirmed, she will likely be there to work the Main Event taping before Raw goes live.

WWE is at the Scope Arena in Norfolk, VA, for tonight’s episode of Monday Night Raw. As of this writing, The Miz vs. Dexter Lumis is the only match announced.

    Zoey Stark’s Journey

It was revealed that she signed a contract with WWE on January 20, 2021. She made her debut as Marina Shafir’s tag team partner in the Women’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic tournament on the January 29 episode of 205 Live, losing to Ember Moon and Shotzi Blackheart in the opening round. She made her NXT debut on the February 17 episode of NXT by defeating Valentina Feroz.

The NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship was won at The Great American Bash by Stark and Io Shirai over The Way (Candice LeRae and Indi Hartwell). In a triple-threat tag team Scareway To Hell Ladder Match at Halloween Havoc that also featured Indi Hartwell and Persia Pirotta, they were defeated and lost the belts to Toxic Attraction (Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne).  Because of a torn MCL/Meniscus, Stark was written off television last November.

Stark returned from her injury in the 20-woman Battle Royal for the Number One Contendership for the NXT Women’s Championship on the July 19th episode of NXT. She turned heel earlier this month by attacking Nikkita Lyons.

New Day Honors Jason David Frank at WWE Live Event

The New Day’s Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods did something special at Sunday’s WWE live event as they honored Jason David Frank, the actor who made a name for himself by portraying the Green and White Rangers on Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.

Jason David Frank passed away last week at the age of 49. The cause of death was declared as suicide. Since that time, fans and peers alike continue to mourn his demise, including these two WWE stars.

Woods and Kingston are big fans of pop culture and use that in the world of pro wrestling through their colorful attire. They were deeply saddened by Jason David Frank’s passing as they shared a special connection with the late actor.

As seen below, Woods and Kingston wore their Power Rangers-inspired ring gear for their match at the show in Portland, Maine, to pay tribute to Frank.

The former WWE Champion wore the Green Ranger outfit, while Woods was dressed as the White Ranger. Tommy did play the role of both the White and Green Ranger at one point in time.

Big E Helping WWE Scout Talent at IMG Academy Tryouts

Recruiting talent is a crucial component of ensuring WWE has a bright future.

WWE will hold its next tryout camp later this week, according to Sports Illustrated. The two-day event will take place from the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. The prep school touts itself as, “the world’s foremost authority in athletic, academic and personal development.”

Approximately 30 to 35 athletes are expected to participate. WWE’s recruiting philosophy has evolved over the past few years. After a period of time focusing on wrestlers from the independent scene, the strategy has shifted to signing elite collegiate athletes.

The WWE NIL (Next in Line) program has been at the forefront of the new initiative.

    WWE Tryouts

Paul “Triple H” Levesque has high hopes for this week. He wrote on Twitter, “As WWE continues to invest in recruiting college athletes, IMG Academy is an ideal venue for this week’s tryout. The next great Superstar just may be in attendance…”

Big E Scouting Talent for WWE

The IMG tryouts will mark WWE’s third big tryout camp of the year. 18 developmental contracts were awarded during WrestleMania weekend tryouts. Another 15 athletes were signed during SummerSlam weekend.

Big E will be in attendance for this week’s tryouts. James Kimball, WWE’s Head of Talent Operations and Strategy, says the former WWE Champion will have a big role in the process.

“E is such a critical part of what we’re doing,” says Kimball. “This recruitment strategy is really hitting home for him, and it’s something we should have had when he was a collegiate student-athlete at Iowa. He’s such a great ambassador, and he can relate to these athletes. He’s presenting with shared experience—that goes a long way.”

Big E has been out of action since fracturing his neck earlier this year. He is incredibly thankful to be living life pain-free and will have a better idea about his in-ring future when he gets checked out again by doctors in early 2023.

  • AEW Rampage Catching Up to WWE Raw in the Wrong Demographic

AEW Rampage Catching Up to WWE Raw in the Wrong Demographic

The average age of your standard AEW Rampage viewer has increased dramatically over the last year according to the latest data.

Rampage, AEW’s second televised show, launched in August 2021 and provides matches and the continuation of storylines from AEW Dynamite.

    Getting On in Years

AEW has always prided itself on being an alternative to WWE, but recent data suggests the two companies aren’t too far apart.

In data from Wrestlenomics, it has revealed that the average age of an AEW Rampage viewer is in their early 50s, a sharp increase from the average age from October 2021 (mid-late 40s.)

The average age of a Monday Night Raw viewer is also in their early to mid-50s, and it seems just a year or two separates WWE’s three-hour show and AEW Rampage.

AEW Dynamite has also seen an increase in the age of the average viewer, but nowhere close to how dramatic the rise has been for Rampage.

Both WWE Raw and WWE SmackDown have been able to win over younger fans this year and lower their average audience tuning in each week.

After an increase in late 2021 following the launch of NXT 2.0, WWE’s gold brand has seen the average age of their viewer also drop.

    Other Promotions

AEW’s average live viewer’s age is on the increase, while WWE’s is seemingly falling, but there are plenty more companies around.

Impact Wrestling saw the average age of its viewers fall in early 2022, but has risen dramatically in recent months.

New Japan Pro Wrestling currently boasts the oldest age of the average fan tuning in, who are in their mid-60s.

  • WWE Planning on Hosting More PLE Post-Show Press Conferences

WWE Planning on Hosting More PLE Post-Show Press Conferences

Press conferences in wrestling may conjure up images of bitter veteran wrestlers badmouthing other members of their roster, but WWE is confident that won’t be the case for them.

This year has seen WWE host several press conferences in an effort to add a sense of realism to their shows.

    The Press Conference

After last weekend’s Survivor Series WarGames Premium Live Event, WWE held a post-show press conference to discuss the show.

The press conference saw a blend of kayfabe and real-life, with Superstars speaking in character about their matches.

WWE’s Head of Creative and Head of Talent Relations Triple H fielded questions from the wrestling media and spoke openly about future plans in WWE.

Fightful Select reports that this press conference, like previous ones, has gone down well backstage, and that WWE is hopeful to hold more in the future.

WWE hosted a post-show press conference after WWE Clash at the Castle in September of this year, and hosted a press conference for WWE Crown Jewel last month before the show began.

    Triple H and the Media

With Triple H now running a lot of WWE, it should come as little surprise that the promotion is open to hosting more press conferences.

The Cerebral Assassin has enjoyed a much more friendly relationship with the media, and hosted pre-show media calls prior to NXT TakeOver events.

Speaking at last weekend’s press conference, Triple H discussed the future of the traditional Survivor Series elimination match, given that none of these matches took place at Survivor Series WarGames.

  • Controversial Ex-Superstar Worked Backstage at WWE Survivor Series WarGames

Controversial Ex-Superstar Worked Backstage at WWE Survivor Series WarGames

Former WWE Superstar Brian Kendrick is seemingly back with WWE as a producer for the promotion.

Kendrick first joined WWE in 2002 and has made several returns, the most recent being in 2016 as part of the Cruiserweight Classic.

In January of the year, Kendrick asked for his release from the promotion, which was granted on February 1.

    Survivor Series WarGames

Kendrick didn’t appear on-screen at last weekend’s WWE Survivor Series WarGames event, but he did have a role backstage.

Fightful Select reports that Kendrick worked alongside Jason Jordan to produce the SmackDown Women’s Championship match between Ronda Rousey and Shotzi.

Prior to his departure from WWE earlier this year, Kendrick had spent close to a year as a backstage producer for the WWE NXT brand.

After being attacked by Harland, Kendrick ‘resigned’ from his backstage role in order to face the now-AEW star, but the match didn’t take place due to Kendrick’s departure.

    Controversy

The same day as his departure from WWE, it was announced that Kendrick would be making his AEW debut on the February 2, episode, in a match against Jon Moxley.

Hours after the announcement, the match was canceled due to controversial comments made by the former Cruiserweight Champion in the past.

Kendrick’s controversial claims include stating that the 2012 Sandy Hook shooting was staged, and said in 2011 that the 9/11 attack on the World Trade Center was faked with the use of holograms.

Kendrick had also claimed that the number of people killed during the Holocaust had been exaggerated and that gas chambers were used to delouse Jewish victims, rather than kill them.

Kendrick later apologized for the comments and has worked with Holocaust memorial groups to learn more and try and make amends.

Bayley, Dakota, IYO SKY, Rhea Ripley, and Nikki Cross battled Bianca Belair, Becky Lynch, Mia Yim, Asuka, and Alexa Bliss last night in the Women’s WarGames match at WWE Survivor Series.

Becky Lynch was revealed as the 5th superstar on Bianca Belair’s team this past Friday on WWE SmackDown and she was the difference maker in the match.

Lynch scaled to the top of the cage and connected with a Leg Drop on IYO and Dakota below for the pinfall victory.

Bayley took to Twitter today and said she was proud of Damage CTRL after the loss at Survivor Series WarGames.

    No, I’m not okay. I’m not happy. But I am proud @ImKingKota @Iyo_SkyWWE #wargames

Dakota Kai sent out a similar message earlier today and stated that she’s happy following the grueling match last night at Survivor Series WarGames.

Battered and bruised after 50 mins of hell.. but happy. Regardless of the outcome, we went to WAR.

IYO SKY sent out a Tweet last night after the premium live event and joked that she has perfect attendance for WarGames matches.

After finishing the big match, the long day is finally over. I already have bruises all over my body, poisonous mist and cuts all over my body. Participated in #WarGames for 4 years in a row. Perfect attendance award.

  • Backstage News on WWE Morale Since Vince McMahon’s Exit

Backstage News on WWE Morale Since Vince McMahon’s Exit

It’s been several months since Vince McMahon departed from WWE as Chairman and CEO, with Triple H taking over main roster creative. At the same time, Nick Khan and Stephanie McMahon are co-CEOs of the company.

The backstage atmosphere in WWE is said to be much better in recent months after McMahon departed from the company.

Fightful Select reports that backstage morale has “improved significantly” after McMahon stepped down, and those in the locker room have said that backstage culture has changed for the better.

During the 80s, 90s, and 2000s, wrestling was the wild west backstage in the company, and if you upset the wrong person, you would either lose your push or be let go. Although the culture has improved over the last decade, there have been countless reports of McMahon’s erratic decisions affecting the shows, and the morale would take a hit at different times.

    Happy Times

    Vince McMahon

Per the report, “almost everyone” they spoke with said that going to work these days with Triple H running the ship is more fun and easy going and there is less of a feeling that you could get fired for things you can’t control.

While there is still a feeling that some wrestlers are not being used the right way, things are much improved compared to where they were this past summer.

Numerous talent looked at Royal Rumble 2022 this past January as an all-time low for them from a creative standpoint and some lost faith in McMahon as a leader in some sense based on the situation with Shane McMahon that led to his exit from the company.

  • Paul Heyman Gushes About Sami Zayn’s Contributions to The Bloodline

Paul Heyman Gushes About Sami Zayn’s Contributions to The Bloodline

The Bloodline (Roman Reigns, The Usos, Sami Zayn, & Solo Sikoa) were victorious over Drew McIntyre, Sheamus, Butch, Ridge Holland & Kevin Owens in the Men’s WarGames match at Saturday’s WWE Survivor Series.

At the end of the match, Reigns and Owens mixed things up, only for Owens to nearly beat Reigns with the Stunner, but Zayn, a good friend of Owens, stopped the referee from counting to three. To further prove his loyalty to the faction, he hit a low blow to Owens than the big boot to set up Jey, hitting a splash off the top rope for the win.

    Paul Heyman’s Praise

At the post-event press conference, Paul Heyman and Zayn spoke about the big win with media members. Heyman praised Zayn’s work since joining The Bloodline.

“Sami brings a dynamic that none of us were prepared for and we are prepared for everything. And what Sami also brings is a connection with the audience that none of us can have because we’ve been too busy being the top act in the entire industry for over two years.”

Heyman said Zayn is the guy that does a guest spot on a TV series and ends up being part of the regular cast because of his passion and talent.

“Sami Zayn was on the opposite side of Kevin Owens tonight. Kevin Owens was on a different team, he chose to be on that team. If anybody was disloyal to anybody, Kevin Owens was disloyal to Sami Zayn. He put Sami Zayn in a terrible position of having to pick his best friend or The Bloodline, the greatest faction in the history of the industry, the top star in the industry Roman Reigns, and the acceptance of Roman Reigns which makes all of us relevant. And Sami was not disloyal to Kevin Owens. He took on his opponent. He showed his loyalty to The Bloodline.”

  • WWE in Talks to Hold ‘Major Event’ in India (Report)

WWE in Talks to Hold ‘Major Event’ in India (Report)

WWE is reportedly in talks to hold a “major show” in India. The company is planning to hold an event “on a grand scale” in Hyderabad, India, according to a report by Riju Dasputa of Sportskeeda. The roster that will be featured on the show will have both Indian and international talent.

Drew McIntyre was reportedly vocal about bringing WWE to India, and sources considered him a “lock” for the event. The top WWE star recently worked on a Bollywood project in India.

    The Show

Per the report, sources noted that the likely date for the event is January 18, which was first reported by WrestleVotes as the company has been considering doing the event, but now has advanced to talks about doing it in the country.

WWE previously held an Indian show, Superstar Spectacle, on January 22, 2021, and the show aired on January 26 to coincide with India’s Republic Day

It was produced as part of WWE’s deal with Sony Pictures Networks India, and was billed as “a unique showcase of Indian-inspired action,” which also featured elements of Indian culture.

It’s unclear whether the reportedly planned event is a follow-up to Superstar Spectacle. That event was headlined by Drew McIntyre and The Indus Sher (Rinku and Saurav) defeating The Bollywood Boyz (Samir Singh and Sunil Singh) and Jinder Mahal.

  • Sasha Banks Chants Censored at WWE Survivor Series

Sasha Banks Chants Censored at WWE Survivor Series

Wrestling fans called for Sasha Banks at WWE Survivor Series, but the chants weren’t audible on television for long.

Saturday’s big event took place her hometown of Boston, MA. Banks remains one of the industries biggest names despite being out of the spotlight since May 2022.

According to a correspondent who was in attendance for Survivor Series, the “Sasha Banks” and “We Want Sasha” chants were pretty loud during Ronda Rousey’s match against Shotzi.

    Sasha Banks Chants Muted

WWE’s production team lowered the crowd audio to censor the Sasha Banks chants at Survivor Series, according to Bryan Alvarez on Wrestling Observer Radio.

The decision to censor Sasha Banks chants can be looked at from several perspectives. WWE knew she was not going to appear at Survivor Series. The company also does not want Sasha Banks chants become a form of rebellion, much like CM Punk’s name was chanted for years when the audience wasn’t satisfied with whatever WWE was presenting.

The two sides are currently in talks to get her back in the fold, but nothing has been signed as of this writing. During her time away from WWE, Banks has branched out with several non-wrestling projects.

We’ve also seen All Elite Wrestling sign names like Renee Paquette and Saraya. Earlier this month, Saraya said she’s confident she’ll get a chance to wrestle Banks again. You can be sure WWE hears about quotes like this and will do whatever it takes to prevent her from going to the competition.

Banks has a ton of leverage in her negotiations and will likely be offered the biggest contract of her wrestling career. At the end of the day, she’s in the drivers seat and will have to decide what’s best for herself and her career.

Stars like Sasha Banks don’t come around very often. Hopefully it’s only a matter of time before we see her grace the squared circle once again.

Spoiler on WWE Plans for Roman Reigns’ Royal Rumble Opponent

WWE held its final main roster premium live event of 2022 on Saturday night with WarGames, which was headlined by the Men’s WarGames match.

That match saw The Bloodline (Roman Reigns, The Usos, Sami Zayn, & Solo Sikoa) defeat Drew McIntyre, Sheamus, Butch, and Ridge Holland & Kevin Owens. Now, Reigns is focused on his next title defense, and WWE will be gearing up for its next event, Royal Rumble.

    Roman Reigns’ Royal Rumble Opponent

WWE’s current plan for Roman Reigns at the Royal Rumble is for him to defend the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship against Kevin Owens. The news comes courtesy of WrestlingNews.co. Per the report, Sheamus was penciled in for that spot at one point, but it was decided to do Owens vs. Reigns instead.

There has been speculation, which was confirmed to be the plan by this report, that WWE is building toward having Owens and Zayn challenge The Usos for the Unified Tag Team Titles at WrestleMania 39.

There were also talks a few weeks ago about Zayn facing Reigns in a singles match at the Rumble. That match won’t be happening until Elimination Chamber in February, which takes place in Zayn’s hometown of Montreal, Quebec.

As previously reported, there are no plans for Reigns to lose the Undisputed WWE Universal Title right now or anytime before WrestleMania 39, as WWE hopes to do Reigns vs. The Rock at this event if Rock’s schedule allows him to do so.

  • “Terrified” – Becky Lynch Shares Reaction to Insane WarGames Spot

“Terrified” – Becky Lynch Shares Reaction to Insane WarGames Spot

Becky Lynch emerged victorious in her first outing inside WarGames, but the match took its toll on The Man.

Last night’s Survivor Series WarGames event marked Lynch’s first match since Summerslam 2022, when she faced Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair.

Lynch was attacked by Damage CTRL on the Raw after Summerslam and made her TV return on this week’s SmackDown

    Terrified

Becky Lynch was the final woman to enter WarGames, as Team Damage CTRL had won the advantage that their entries would be first.

It was The Man who proved to be the difference maker, as she won the match for her team after a dropkick off the top of the cage onto Dakota Kai and IYO SKY, both of whom were perched on a table.

Speaking on the Survivor Series WarGames post-show press conference, Lynch shared her reaction to trying the move earlier in the day.

“Lads, I was terrified [laughs.] No, I wasn’t terrified in the moment. I was terrified getting up there in practice today, I climbed up [the cage] as I wanted to see the height of it. And my palms were sweaty, knees weak, arms spaghetti [laughs].

“I was terrified getting up there in practice today.”

    Becky Lynch.

The former Raw Women’s Champion explained how things felt much different when she hit the move in front of a passionate Boston crowd at the TD Garden.

“When you have the feeling and energy of the crowd, I feel like anything is possible. It’s the people that let you feel like you’re a superhero and make you feel like a superhero, so then you become a superhero. And God bless Dakota Kai and IYO SKY, I’m sure they’re feeling a lot worse than I am!”

    Bianca Belair

The last time fans had seen Becky Lynch before this week, she had been trying to wrestle the Raw Women’s Championship away from Bianca Belair.

Speaking on the press conference, Lynch said that she had been in Ireland for her brother’s 40th birthday, before getting a call from her rival turned friend.

“She’s become a good friend. We started off as bitter enemies. Obviously I came in and used nefarious means to beat her [at Summerslam 2021.] But I’ve gained so much respect for this woman.”

  • Triple H Gives Update on Future of Survivor Series Elimination Matches

Triple H Gives Update on Future of Survivor Series Elimination Matches

What is the fate of the traditional Survivor Series elimination match, following the recent Survivor Series WarGames event?

The traditional elimination match has been a staple of the November Premium Live Event since the first Survivor Series in 1987, and the show was only tag-matches until 1991.

This week’s Survivor Series WarGames saw the iconic NWA/WCW match replace the traditional elimination match.

    Not Over

This year’s Survivor Series marked the third time in history that the November show has featured zero traditional Survivor Series elimination matches (after 1998 and 2002.)

On the Survivor Series WarGames post-show, Triple H was asked by Pro Wrestling Illustrated if this year’s show is a sign that WWE is done with the elimination tag match.

“I don’t think we’re done with anything. I think that when we look at it together as a whole, it’s about what’s best for our fans in the moment, Sometimes stuff needs a break for a while. Sometimes you bring it back later and it’s iconic. ‘Oh my God, they’re going back to that!’ To say it’ll never happen again, I think is wrong.”

“Sometimes stuff needs a break for a while.”

Triple H on WWE’s lack of elimination tag matches at WWE Survivor Series WarGames.

    Group Decision

Given how iconic the Survivor Series elimination match is, the decision to host no matches with the stipulation could not have been easy.

On the post-show, Triple H said that this wasn’t a call he made on his own, but rather a group effort.

“I think it was the right year [for a break from Elimination matches.] We all looked at it and decided internally that it was the right year to maybe freshen up the concept a little bit. Either the five-on-five tags and maybe even the straight-out Raw Vs. SmackDown [stipulations] were a bit tired and needed a refresh. So that’s what we did.”

Triple H didn’t name who else was a factor in the decision-making process regarding scrapping the Survivor Series elimination match type.

The King of Kings took over as WWE’s Head of Creative in July, replacing Vince McMahon in the role.

    For the Fans

Triple H did not confirm that the traditional Survivor Series match-type is done, but did not confirm the future of WarGames either.

As he explained in the press conference, WWE is taking a wait-and-see approach, which works around the response by fans to the show.

“We try it out. We see where it goes. And we see if the fans enjoy it. Because at the end of the day, we’re just trying to give everyone the best entertainment that we can. So we try things on. If they [the fans] happen to like it, we stick with it. If it needs to tweak [we will.] You’re constantly evaluating everything you do. You have to. Otherwise, you stagnate and die.”

Triple H’s ‘evaluations’ of WWE since being appointed Head of Creative and Head of Talent have seen several released Superstars be brought back to the promotion.

Alexa Bliss Shares Her Goals for 2023

Alexa Bliss knows what she wants as the year winds down and we approach 2023.

On Saturday night, Bliss was a participant for Team Belair during the WarGames match at Survivor Series. She competed alongside Asuka, Becky Lynch, Mia Yim, and Bianca Belair. Their team was triumphant over Team Bayley (IYO SKY, Dakota Kai, Rhea Ripley, and Nikki Cross rounded out the team).

Bliss spoke with BT Sport’s Rob Armstrong this week about her goals for the new year. Her character has developed dramatically over years, but she feels she’s just getting started.

“I want to evolve. I want to evolve my character and see what else I can become. … I think there is a lot more to explore. There’s every single type of person out there, so why not portray them all?”

    – Alexa Bliss

Fans have seen an evolution of Bliss from “Little Miss Bliss” to “The Evil Goddess”. With the return of Bray Wyatt, many have wondered if she would once again be under the spell of “The Fiend.” She seemingly made a reference to her former friend before Wyatt was revealed as the “White Rabbit”.

Bliss recently said in another interview that she’s thinking of changing her character again because she’s unsure of her current character.

Alexa Bliss Wants to be Champion Again

Bliss was the first two-time SmackDown Women’s Champion and has held the RAW Women’s Championship three times. She has also been a 24/7 Champion.

She’d like to be champion again, but it doesn’t drive her the way that creativity does. Bliss also likes chasing the champion when she’s not carrying gold herself.

“For me, I feel, we see a lot of the same people hold titles, so it’s nice to see new people hold titles. Like, I was really super excited when Liv (Morgan) won the title. So, it’s cool to have different opponents, and if I’m not going to be the champion, I want to be the person working opposite of the champion. So, it’s nice to see the other girls have their moments, but I also want to be the character that’s working across from them. For me, it’s obviously, I would love to be champion again, but for me, it’s the creative aspect that really drives me.”

Rousey started off the match in control, but Blackheart quickly got in offense. She was battling the “Queen of Spades” throughout the short match as well. While fighting off Baszler, Blackheart flipped Rousey over the barricade into the crowd. She sent Baszler over too. They were in the laps of two fans when Blackheart did a crossbody and took them all out.

Rousey put Blackheart in the Piper’s Pit and into an arm bar to make her opponent tap. She did not, in fact, snap Blackheart’s ankle.

Team Belair Wins Women’s WarGames Match at WWE Survivor Series

The first-ever WarGames match for the female WWE stars on the main roster was memorable and saw Team Belair come out victorious.

WWE held the match at the Survivor Series event with the expected match seeing Team Belair (Bianca Belair, Asuka, Alexa Bliss, Mia Yim & Becky Lynch) vs. Team Bayley (Bayley, IYO SKY, Dakota Kai, Nikki Cross & Rhea Ripley)

The match opened the show and featured Kai and Belair starting things off. SKY and Asuka were the next stars in. They were followed by Cross, Bliss and Bayley. Cross did a crossbody off the top of the cage to take out everyone. Bayley was next out and brought in a ladder and table. Yim, Ripley and Lynch finished out the entrant list. Belair hit a powerbomb to Bayley, who landed rough on her neck. SKY with a moonsault off the top of the cage to take out Belair and Yim. Ripley sent Yim crashing through a ladder. Lynch went to the top of the cage and did a leg drop to Kai and SKY through a ladder for the finish.

Lynch suffered a separated shoulder during her match against Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair at SummerSlam. On the August 1st episode of Raw, she was written off television by being attacked by Bayley, IYO Sky (Io Shirai), and Dakota Kai.

Before being written off on Raw, Lynch did turn back from being a heel to a babyface, one of Triple H’s first big moves while in charge of creative. Lynch stated in her promo that she realized who she is, and that’s The Man. Vince McMahon came up with the idea to turn Lynch into a heel at the 2021 SummerSlam event when she returned.

Triple H Shares Video Featuring William Regal Ahead of WWE Survivor Series WarGames

WWE Survivor Series WarGames 2022 airs live tonight from the TD Garden in Boston, MA. The Survivor Series premium live event used to be centered around brand warfare between RAW and SmackDown but that is no longer the case.

Triple H replaced the traditional 5 vs. 5 Elimination matches with WarGames matches this year. WarGames was a staple in NXT and former NXT GM William Regal used to shout “WarGames!” when booking the match.

WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H just uploaded a video featuring William Regal shouting WarGames ahead of WWE Survivor Series tonight.

“Tonight just wouldn’t be the same without…”

William Regal was recently the leader of the Blackpool Combat Club but betrayed Jon Moxley in the main event of AEW Full Gear. Regal slid MJF the brass knuckles and Maxwell punched Jon in the face with them. Jon Moxley confronted Regal on this past Wednesday’s episode of Dynamite and told him to walk away and keep walking. Moxley was about to attack Regal but Bryan Danielson prevented it.

  • Becky Lynch Shares Behind The Scenes Footage of her WWE SmackDown Return

Becky Lynch Shares Behind The Scenes Footage of her WWE SmackDown Return

WWE’s women’s division received a major boost on Friday Night SmackDown this week when Becky Lynch made her return.

In the opening segment of the show, Lynch was introduced as the fifth and final member of Bianca Belair’s WarGames team for this year’s Survivor Series WarGames premium live event.

The show on FOX had been delayed due to a Football overrun. This came months after fans last saw Lynch on their screens as she was written off television during the Monday Night Raw after SummerSlam due to an attack from Damage CTRL after she suffered a separated shoulder in her match with Bianca Belair at SummerSlam.

    The Man Comes Around

Lynch shared a behind the scenes footage of her return on SmackDown, just moments before she walked out of the curtain for the first time in months in this video on Twitter.

Lynch will team with Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair, Asuka, Alexa Bliss and ‘Michin’ Mia Yim against Bayley, Dakota Kai, IYO SKY, Nikki Cross and Rhea Ripley in the Women’s WarGames match at Survivor Series.

It appears WWE is building to an eventual clash between Lynch and Ripley based on the segment done during SmackDown.

Austin Theory Vows to Win US Title Tonight at WWE Survivor Series WarGames

Seth Rollins will be defending the United States Championship against Austin Theory and Bobby Lashley tonight at WWE Survivor Series WarGames in a Triple Threat match.

Rollins captured the US Title from Bobby Lashley after Brock Lesnar attacked the All Mighty. Austin Theory attempted to cash in his Money in the Bank contract on Seth for the US Title on a recent episode of Raw but Lashley broke it up.

Bobby got Theory in the Hurt Lock before rolling him back in the ring. Rollins capitalized on the attack with a Stomp to retain the title and add a failed cash-in attempt to Theory’s resume. Theory responded with a brutal attack on the United States Champion and posed with the title. Seth claimed that Theory made the biggest mistake of his life this past Monday on Raw.

Austin Theory Vows to Win US Title Tonight

Austin Theory was a guest on WWE’s The Bump earlier today ahead of Survivor Series tonight in Boston. Theory vowed to walk out of the TD Garden as the new United Sates Champion.

I’m not running from anything. Tonight, I step into the ring with two former World Champions. You know who is not a World Champion in that match? Austin Theory.

But you know who is going to beat two former World Champions tonight? And become a two-time United States Champion. What?! Austin Theory.

The Boston crowd was heckling Austin throughout the interview but the 26-year-old fired back at them.

Before the end of the interview, Theory revealed that he only has one goal in 2023 and that is to become the Universal Champion.

Watch: Shotzi Gets Emotional Ahead of Title Match Tonight at WWE Survivor Series WarGames

Ronda Rousey will defend her SmackDown Women’s Championship against Shotzi tonight at WWE Survivor Series.

Shotzi earned the title match by winning a Six-Pack Challenge on a recent edition of SmackDown. Ronda Rousey has aligned with Shayna Baszler on the blue brand and the Queen of Spades brutally attacked Raquel Rodriguez last night on WWE SmackDown.

Raquel still showed up to be Shotzi’s partner in their tag team match against Ronda and Shayna, but wound up tapping out to an Armbar from the champion.

Ahead of her match against Ronda Rousey tonight at Survivor Series, Shotzi appeared on WWE’s The Bump and said she was dedicating the match tonight to her fathers.

It has been a really tough year and I’m finally feeling like I am finding myself again. And being in this position really proves that.

So I just have both my dads in mind this whole match. This is dedicated to them and this is everything that they have ever dreamed of.

  • Triple H Has a Strategy to Differentiate Himself from Vince McMahon

WWE’s Head of Creative Triple H wants to make it clear that he isn’t like his father-in-law Vince McMahon.

The Game was appointed Head of Creative in July of this year, following McMahon’s shocking resignation and retirement from the promotion.

Triple H has also been appointed WWE’s Head of Talent Relations, replacing McMahon confidante John Laurinaitis.

    Different

So far, Triple H’s tenure as Head of Creative and Talent has seen several released Superstars return, including Bray Wyatt, Karrion Kross, and Dakota Kai, among others. All of these stars were released under McMahon’s regime, and Triple H is doing more to set himself apart from his father-in-law. A new report from PWInsider sheds some light on this subject.

Triple H seeks to differentiate himself from the McMahon regime by giving talent a little more leeway and creative freedom. This new regime is also providing talent with a bit more “grit” and allowing for more “unexpected action.”

The Game reportedly has big plans for WWE’s women’s division, and has seen the Judgment Day’s Finn Balor as a ‘reclamation project.’

Triple H’s changes to WWE so far, which have included changing rules over certain banned terms, have gone down well with fans for the most part.

    Future Changes

Triple H is giving Superstars more leeway, and the Head of Creative and Talent has big plans for the future.

It has been reported that WWE will be scrapping stipulation Premium Live Events, in favor of more traditionally-themed shows.

WWE has already removed WWE TLC, which is traditionally scheduled to air each December.

It has been said that the annual Hell in a Cell Premium Live Event is “completely dead.”

Despite recent rumors, there have been no plans yet for WWE to scrap the popular Money in the Bank event.

  • Best Tweets from WWE Superstars Going into Survivor Series: WarGames

Best Tweets from WWE Superstars Going into Survivor Series: WarGames

WWE Survivor Series 2023 is just hours away, and this year’s show will feature a huge twist.

For the first time in history, the iconic WarGames stipulation will be used on WWE’s main roster, after being used in recent years in NXT.

Tonight’s show will see a stacked card for the fans in Boston, and the WWE Superstars have been busy on social media making their views clear.

After last night’s SmackDown, Drew McIntyre poked fun at the Bloodline, using the group’s catchphrase ahead of WarGames.

Paul Heyman won’t be entering WarGames with the rest of the Bloodline, but the Special Counsel has been strategizing with his team.

Bianca Belair was delighted with Becky Lynch being revealed as the final woman for her team in the Women’s WarGames match.

Not to be outdone, Asuka shared her plans for WarGames in a way fans of the Empress on social media should be used to.

    https://twitter.com/WWEAsuka/status/1593813069561331712

Dakota Kai, who’ll be on Team Damage CTRL was quick to remind fans of her experience with WarGames.

Bobby Lashley is ready to add a fourth United States Championship reign to his resume ahead of his Triple threat match with Seth Rollins and Austin Theory.

Perhaps Austin Theory’s new, more serious attitude after losing Money in the Bank will see the youngest U.S. Champion in history regain the gold.

The Judgment Day’s Finn Balor is ready to finish his war with AJ Styles and the O.C. for good tonight when the two meet in singles action.

WWE Survivor Series will take place tonight, at the TD Garden in Boston, MA, and will be streamed on the WWE Network and Peacock.

  • Here’s How You Can Buy WWE’s First Logan Paul Action Figure

Here’s How You Can Buy WWE’s First Logan Paul Action Figure

Logan Paul has wowed WWE fans with his in-ring ability, and now the YouTuber-turned-Superstar has his very first action figure.

Paul made his in-ring debut in April, teaming with The Miz at WrestleMania 38, but was betrayed by the A-Lister after defeating the Mysterios.

At Summerslam, Paul got payback on The Miz, and at Crown Jewel, unsuccessfully challenged Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns.

    First Figure

The Maverick took to his Instagram and uploaded a few photos of his own action figure from Mattel.

The Ultimate Edition figure comes with Paul’s black and yellow attire, entrance jacket, and three heads with different expressions.

The figure makes use of TrueFX facial detailing and boasts over 30 points of articulation, including an ab-crunch torso, butterfly joints, double-jointed arms, knees, and articulated toes.

Paul first teased his figure back in September of this year, tweeting a photo from Mattel’s offices.

The figure isn’t on the shelves just yet but can be pre-ordered from Mattel for the price of $45.00.

    Logan Paul’s Recovery

For the time being, this figure will be the only way fans will get to see Logan Paul in a ring, as he is recovering from a torn MCL suffered at Crown Jewel.

It was first believed that Paul would have to miss six months of action, which would have forced the Maverick to skip WrestleMania 39.

In an update on his most recent vlog, Paul said that he was informed that he’ll need at least six weeks to be fully healed, meaning he could be wrestling again as soon as January.
