What Happens When You Call the Number Shown During the Bray Wyatt Promo on WWE SmackDown

Bray Wyatt returned at Extreme Rules after a White Rabbit teaser campaign that captured the imagination of the WWE Universe.

The mind games are still happening as a phone number flashed on the screen during tonight’s episode of SmackDown. Wyatt came to the ring and claimed that he was not the one who attacked LA Knight last week.

LA Knight made the bold decision of slapping Bray Wyatt in the face not once, but twice last week. He was later found buried under a bunch of equipment and showed up this week with his arm in a sling.

Uncle Howdy interrupted Bray Wyatt and accused him of being a liar once again. A phone number flashed on the screen during the segment and the following message is delivered when it is dialed:

“Patient suffers from delusions of grandeur, perhaps the most extreme incidence I’ve encountered. Concerns that no regime or treatment will be able to counteract the imbalance of pattern in the patient’s psyche.

Prone to disorganized thought patterns that communicate a sense of unmatched importance. Bouts of isolation has seems to have amplified their inner monologue and honestly blocked out any outside voice.

In short, the patient would need to think as highly of a medical practitioner as they do themselves and honestly that seems to border on the impossible. I’ve become concerned that this patient has become such a danger to themselves and anyone that they encounter that… Hello? Hello? Is someone there? Hello? I…”

  • What Happened with Braun Strowman After WWE SmackDown Went off the Air?

What Happened with Braun Strowman After WWE SmackDown Went off the Air?

Braun Strowman and Ricochet were opponents on this week’s episode of WWE SmackDown on FOX, but proved to be formidable allies after the show.

During the show, Ricochet got a huge win over Strowman to advance to the finals of the SmackDown World Cup Tournament.

Ricochet, representing the United States, will face Santos Escobar (Mexico) in the finals on next week’s show, with the winner earning a title match against Intercontinental Champion GUNTHER.

    After SmackDown

Ricochet’s win over Strowman was far from clean, as GUNTHER and Imperium were at ringside and ensured that Braun did not win the match.

After the match, Imperium attacked Strowman, and while at first conflicted, Ricochet made the save on the man he had previously beaten.

Once SmackDown went off the air, Braun and Ricochet teamed up to face Imperium’s Ludwig Kaiser and Giovanni Vinci.

Despite their differences on TV, Strowman and Ricochet got the win to send the crowd home happy.

    Punishment?

Strowman’s loss came as a shock to some fans, but it may have been more than just WWE’s creative plans that caused this booking decision.

After losing to Ricochet, his first loss since returning to WWE in early September, fans online speculated that this was a punishment for the former Universal Champion.

Strowman earned considerable heat with fans and wrestlers after his ‘flippy floppy’ comments on Twitter, in which he mocked indie wrestling and wrestlers.

It has been reported that while Strowman has been nothing but good at WWE events ‘Social Media Braun’ has proven to be a problem for WWE’s higher-ups.

  • WWE Superstar Receives Name Change on SmackDown

WWE Superstar Receives Name Change on SmackDown

WWE Superstar Sarah Logan has been given a new name on SmackDown.

She returned alongside the Viking Raiders recently on the blue brand. Erik and Ivar beat Hit Row and the Viking Raiders down. Sarah attacked B-Fab of Hit Row before making eye contact with Zelina Vega of Legada Del Fantasma.

Vega hopped over the barricade and ran away out of fear. Zelina referred to it as a “big brain play” on Twitter after WWE uploaded a video of her escape.

Sarah Logan has used the phrase “Valhalla is here” during vignettes leading up to the Viking Raiders return. It appears that her official new name is Valhalla to go along with her new look.

The Viking Raiders picked up a dominant win against Hit Row tonight and seem to be on their way to earning a shot at the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championships in the near future.

  • Ricochet on Earning Braun Strowman’s Respect During Their SmackDown World Cup Match

Ricochet on Earning Braun Strowman’s Respect During Their SmackDown World Cup Match

Ricochet squared off against Braun Strowman tonight in the semifinals of the SmackDown World Cup.

Braun Strowman was the heavy favorite in the matchup and controlled the majority of the action. However, the Monster of All Monsters became distracted by Intercontinental Champion Gunther making his way to the ring.

Ludwig Kaiser and Giovanni Vinci of Imperium hopped on the ring apron but Braun fought them off. Ricochet was able to capitalize on the distraction and rolled Strowman up for the pinfall victory. Imperium attacked Braun after the match but Ricochet ran back to the ring for the save. Ricochet and Strowman shook hands and posed in the ring after the match.

Ricochet on Wanting Braun Strowman’s Respect, the Importance of the IC Title

Ricochet sat down with Cathy Kelley in a WWE Digital Exclusive after SmackDown went off the air. Braun Strowman sent out a controversial tweet after defeating Omos at WWE Crown Jewel. In boasting about the victory, Braun mocked smaller wrestlers and their “flippy” style. Ricochet, Mustafa Ali, and other professional wrestlers responded to the tweet.

During the interview, Ricochet revealed that it was important for him to get Braun to respect him tonight in their SmackDown World Cup match.

“I was going to go into this match no matter what to make sure that Braun Strowman respected me at least,” said Ricochet. “He can think what he wants, he has his own opinions, but I was going to come in tonight, knowing very well that as soon as we leave this match he is going to respect me. Of course, it wasn’t my idea to have Imperium come out, and obviously, it wasn’t because they beat me up.”

Ricochet also discussed his opponent in the SmackDown World Cup finals next week, Santos Escobar. He noted that they have a history before WWE and he is excited to bring their rivalry to the fans. Ricochet added that winning the Intercontinental Championship back from Gunther represents a chance to redeem himself.

“It means the world. It means everything to me. It was devastating when I lost it. So that is another key motivating factor behind all of this. It is not just to win for America, to win the SmackDown World Cup, and to just win in general for Ricochet. Because we know Ricochet’s past, this hasn’t been the best couple of years for him so this is a chance for me to redeem myself and show that I belong here,” he added.

  • Santos Escobar Says He Has A Game Plan for the SmackDown World Cup Finals Next Week

Santos Escobar Says He Has A Game Plan for the SmackDown World Cup Finals Next Week

Santos Escobar battled Butch in the semifinals of the SmackDown World Cup tournament tonight on the blue brand.

Butch had the match in control as Legado Del Fantasma and The Brawling Brutes were ringside. The camera cut backstage on the jumbotron to reveal that The Usos were brawling with Kevin Owens and Drew McIntyre.

Butch told Sheamus and Ridge to go help out backstage. As the referee was distracted, Cruz Del Toro booted Butch in the face and Santos capitalized with the Phantom Driver for the pinfall victory.

Ricochet earned a spot in the finals tonight by defeating Braun Strowman in the semifinals. Intercontinental Champion Gunther and Imperium distracted Strowman and Ricochet capitalized with a roll-up to advance in the tournament. Imperium attacked Strowman after the match but Ricochet made the save.

Santos will go on to battle Ricochet in the finals of the SmackDown World Cup next week. The winner of the World Cup will earn a shot at Gunther’s Intercontinental Championship.

    Santos Escobar Warns Ricochet

Santos Escobar was interviewed by Cathy Kelley in a WWE Digitial Exclusive following this week’s episode of SmackDown. Escobar said that he had a game plan for Ricochet and vowed to win the tournament next week. The Legado Del Fantasma leader added that he will go on to win the Intercontinental Championship as well.

“Shinsuke and Butch were no easy task and rest assured, my family [Legado Del Fantasma] will always be with me. So as for Ricochet, there is a universal truth. What goes up must come down. The game plan is easy, win the World Cup and become the new Intercontinental Champion,” Escobar said.

  • Randy Orton Undergoes Back Surgery, WWE Future in Question

Randy Orton Undergoes Back Surgery, WWE Future in Question

Fans shouldn’t expect to see Randy Orton return and perform inside of a WWE ring anytime soon due to a back injury.

The former WWE Champion has been out of action since late May when he and RKBro teammate Matt Riddle dropped the Raw Tag Team Championships to The Usos, who were the SmackDown Tag Team Champions and now Unified Champions. WWE later wrote him off television in an attack angle.

At the time, Orton reportedly had a “significant” injury, and was expected out for a few months and then later the rest of the year.

    Injury Update

Randy Orton has undergone a fusion in his lower back that would keep him out of action for an extended period of time. Orton’s wife recently posted a photo of him in a hospital bed, which got fans concerned about the timeframe for his return.

Back fusion surgery is very serious business and could keep him out of action for an extended period of time. At 42 years old, he’s already in the later stages of his in-ring career.

Orton remains under contract with WWE through 2024, although the company could ‘freeze’ the contract due to his prolonged hiatus.

  • Logan Paul Could Be Back in a WWE Ring by January

Logan Paul Could Be Back in a WWE Ring by January

Logan Paul has provided an update on his health and it’s great news for fans hoping to see him back in a WWE ring.

Paul injured his knee during his match against Roman Reigns at WWE Crown Jewel earlier this month. He knew something was up mid-match, but decided to gut it out. He ended up turning in a performance that people are still talking about.

Despite the setback, he was thrilled with the experience. He plans to wrestle for a very long time and is already plotting a blockbuster match at WrestleMania.

    Logan Paul’s Injury

Paul initially thought he tore his MCL, ACL and meniscus, which would have kept him out for a long time. Luckily, it was “only” a Grade-3 MCL tear.

He posted a new vlog on Friday and shared the news of what his doctor told him:

“You have a significant tear of the MCL, you have what we call a Grade 3, which is almost a complete tear of the MCL. We’re going to treat this with a brace and rehab, it’s going to take a minimum of six weeks for this to heal fully.”

    – Logan Paul relaying what his doctor told him

Anybody who has been through physical therapy will tell you, it’s not pleasant. Paul has spent November undergoing PT and sports rehabilitation sessions. He says “it’s been great thus far” and teased that he knows when he’ll be able to return to WWE.

The vlog ended with Paul saying, “As of now, it looks like I’ll be back to the WWE, sometime in …” and it cuts off.

    Recovery

If Logan Paul stays on course with his recovery, six weeks from today brings us to January 6. Hypothetically, he could appear in the 2023 men’s Royal Rumble match on January 28.

That would be an aggressive timeframe, perhaps too aggressive. Even if he plays it safe and returns at a more conservative pace, a match at WrestleMania 39 in April seems very realistic. If only there was somebody he wanted to work with…

  • Mandy Rose Explains Why She’s Ready for Another WWE Main Roster Run

Mandy Rose Explains Why She’s Ready for Another WWE Main Roster Run

Mandy Rose sees herself on the main roster again while in the middle of a long and successful reign as the WWE  NXT Women’s Champion for over a year.

There are no signs of her slowing down alongside her Toxic Attraction running mates, Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne.

Rose has retained her title over the likes of Alba Fyre, Meiko Satomura, Zoey Stark, Dakota Kai, Raquel Gonzalez, and more.

While speaking to Chris Van Vliet on Insight, Rose was asked what’s next for her in her career. She noted that she’s beaten everyone in NXT and while she doesn’t mind being champion for a longer time, she’s ready to have another shot on the main roster.

    One More Shot

    Mandy Rose and Toxic Attraction

“I’m at a point now where, who else can I beat in NXT? I totally don’t mind remaining the champ for a long time, but I think it’s time. I want Gigi and Jacy to be able to experience the main roster. Being up on Raw or SmackDown, I want to get back up there because I’m a whole different person I feel. Whether it’s from the outside looking in it looks like that, I just feel so much more respected now, and that has a lot to do with it. Not that I was scared to like say anything, but I feel I’ve earned the respect over the last 386 days; whatever it’s been, even before I won the title, I earned that respect. I know I belong. I think I have another good run on Raw or SmackDown and I want to prove to people, and I’ve already proven, but I want to showcase myself with my girls, Toxic Attraction. That’s going to be really cool. We’ve shown so much over the last year, we run NXT, and it’s time.”

Rose made her most recent title defense by beating Alba Fyre in a Last Woman Standing match on the November 15 episode of NXT.

  • Ric Flair Attending WWE’s Royal Rumble and Raw XXX Anniversary

Ric Flair Attending WWE’s Royal Rumble and Raw XXX Anniversary

The legendary Ric Flair is gearing up to attend two big WWE events in January 2023.

On the latest episode of his To Be The Man podcast, the 16-time world champion revealed that he’d been invited to be part of the 30th Anniversary of Monday Night Raw (“Raw is XXX”) on January 23 from Philadelphia, PA.

“I’m gonna be there. They didn’t say don’t tell anybody. I’ve been invited and it’s a f**king big deal. Why, because it’s Raw and it’s a big f**king deal. I’m on it, hell yea are you kidding me? 30 years.”

    – Ric Flair

Five days later, Flair will be stylin’ and profilin’ in San Antonio, TX at the 2023 Royal Rumble. The event takes place from the AlamoDome and is already setting box office records.

    Flair Back on WWE Programming

    Raw is XXX

Flair and WWE parted ways in August 2021 after he requested his release. The two sides parted ways after Flair was featured in the controversial Plane Ride from Hell episode of Dark Side of the Ring.

Back in June, WWE announced a new documentary is in the works focusing on Flair’s life and wrestling career. The following month, Flair partnered up with his son-in-law Andrade El Idolo in his “last match” against Jay Lethal and Jeff Jarrett. The event took place during SummerSlam weekend at the Nashville Municipal Auditorium.

Flair has a storied history with the Royal Rumble and Monday Night Raw. Flair won the vacant WWF Championship at the 1992 Royal Rumble, an event that is considered by many to be one of the greatest Rumble events in history.

The Nature Boy competed on Monday Night Raw during its early run back in 1993. After WCW folded in 2001, he’d go on to be the General Manager of Monday Night Raw from November 2001 through June 2002.

Just a few weeks ago, Flair said he’d welcome the opportunity to appear on WWE programming again. He won’t have to wait long to get his wish.

  • WWE Survivor Series WarGames Predictions

    WWE Survivor Series WarGames Predictions

WWE Survivor Series takes place this Saturday from Boston, Massachusetts. This will be the 36th Survivor Series event for the company; it originated in 1987.

SEScoops correspondents Andrew Ravens, Robert Lentini, and Ryan Droste have assembled to provide our official WWE Survivor Series predictions.

Men’s WarGames Match: The Brawling Brutes (Sheamus, Ridge Holland, Butch), Kevin Owens, and Drew McIntyre vs. The Bloodline (Roman Reigns, Jey Uso, Jimmy Uso, Solo Sikoa, Sami Zayn)

Andrew Ravens: The Bloodline goes over. It’s so hard to bet against Roman Reigns in any match, including a WarGames match. This could be the match of the night and given the star power, it arguably should be and that be the bar. It will be interesting to see how limited Kevin Owens is in this match, given his injury, which could play into the finish. (Prediction: The Bloodline)

Robert Lentini: The Bloodline should win this match on paper, but I think something will go wrong for them this Saturday at Survivor Series. Jey Uso’s ego might get in the way, Sami Zayn may be the one that costs them after he guaranteed a victory, just something is going to go wrong for The Bloodline and cost them the match this Saturday night. (Prediction: The Brawling Brutes, Kevin Owens, and Drew McIntyre)

Ryan Droste: Given the booking of the last few years, how do you bet against The Bloodline? Obviously the key here is that Roman doesn’t have to take the pinfall, so I think WWE uses that to their advantage to give his team a rare loss. Spoiler alert: Roman Reigns isn’t taking the pinfall. (Prediction: The Brawling Brutes, Kevin Owens, and Drew McIntyre)

    Consensus: Split

Women’s WarGames Match: Bianca Belair, Alexa Bliss, Asuka, Mia Yim, and TBA vs. Damage CTRL (Bayley, Dakota Kai, Iyo Sky), Nikki Cross, and Rhea Ripley

Andrew Ravens: This is a real pick ’em here, but I’ll side with Team Belair based on the rumored fifth member of the babyface team and want to keep this person strong. This is going to be one of the best matches of the night and one I look forward to seeing. (Prediction: Team Belair)

Robert Lentini: Becky Lynch is rumored to be the fifth and final superstar on Bianca Belair’s squad. I was holding out hope for Sasha Banks as Survivor Series is in her hometown, but appears that The Man will come around again. Bianca Belair’s team gets the victory and perhaps a rivalry between Rhea Ripley and the RAW Women’s Champion begins following Survivor Series. (Prediction: Team Belair)

Ryan Droste: Yeah, the babyface team goes over here with the surprise member of the team putting them over the top. Becky Lynch would be great, Sasha would set the world on fire. The women will be out to prove something, and this could end up being very good. (Prediction: Team Belair)

    Consensus: Team Belair

WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey vs. Shotzi

Andrew Ravens: There’s no way that Rousey loses the title here. Shotzi is a fresh challenger and for that, I can respect it, but no one takes her as a serious title contender. (Prediction: Ronda Rousey)

Robert Lentini: Ronda Rousey will retain against Shotzi in what should be a lopsided match. Shotzi will get in some offense but doesn’t stand a chance of winning this match. I’m expecting a return or something after this match to set up Ronda’s hopefully more interesting next feud. (Prediction: Ronda Rousey)

Ryan Droste: To quote one of my favorite Christmas movies, “If I woke up tomorrow with my head sewn to the carpet, I wouldn’t be more surprised than I am right now.” That would be my reaction to Shotzi pulling out an upset. It ain’t gonna happen. (Prediction: Ronda Rousey)

    Consensus: Ronda Rousey

    AJ Styles vs. Finn Balor

Andrew Ravens: Balor should get the win here, but this is just for them to have a classic match while holding off the eventual multiple-person match down the road, likely on an episode of Raw. Let Balor, a heel, get the win here, but the babyfaces go over in the end. (Prediction: Finn Balor)

Robert Lentini: The Judgment Day and The OC have been battling for weeks now. AJ Styles challenged Finn Balor to this match at Survivor Series because he wants to put an end to their rivalry once and for all. I don’t think that will be the case and Finn Balor will escape with a win after outside interference from Judgment Day. (Prediction: Finn Balor)

Ryan Droste: Feels like Balor will go over here. These two have been involved in a lot of tag team matches of late, but it’s been a really long time since they’ve had a singles match together — TLC 2017. That match was outstanding and there’s no reason to believe that this one won’t be another great one. (Prediction: Finn Balor)

    Consensus: Finn Balor

WWE U.S. Champion Seth Rollins vs. Bobby Lashley vs. Austin Theory

Andrew Ravens: I’m siding with Rollins here, although there’s more to this story. WWE is really building up Theory and I can see him having another run as the United States Champion, but he’s going to have to wait a while. I see WWE saving a one-on-one match between these two at either the Royal Rumble or the Elimination Chamber. (Prediction: Seth Rollins)

Robert Lentini: Seth Rollins has made a lot of enemies on WWE Raw lately and has made life difficult on himself if he wants to have a long reign as United States Champion. Rollins wins by pinning Theory and Lashley will have a reason to demand another match. (Prediction: Seth Rollins)

Ryan Droste: I just don’t see Rollins dropping the U.S. title yet. I’d go with Rollins pinning Theory here to keep Lashley strong. (Prediction: Seth Rollins)

    Consensus: Seth Rollins

  • Bray Wyatt News Headed into Friday’s WWE SmackDown

Bray Wyatt News Headed into Friday’s WWE SmackDown

Bray Wyatt’s new feud with the recently-rebranded LA Knight is set to continue tonight on SmackDown.

The primary focus of the show will be the final build to Survivor Series, including an ‘Advantage Match’ on the men’s side, and Asuka, Alexa Bliss and Mia Yim revealing the final member of their team for the women’s WarGames match. However, WWE has several other ongoing storylines that are worth tuning in for.

    LA Knight

Wyatt has been trying to keep himself on an honest path since returning to the company, but he’s had a difficult time keeping his violent tendencies at bay. He slipped up by recently attacking LA Knight, and attempted to apologize for his actions last week. Knight wasn’t having it. After interrupting a Wyatt’s in-ring promo, he slapped Wyatt in the face, twice.

Later in the show, Knight was found badly beaten backstage. Maybe the attack was carried out by Waytt, maybe someone else was responsible.

Headed into tonight’s SmackDown, Fightful Select reports that plans call for Knight to sell his injuries “pretty heavily” on the show.

It would be (very) short notice to add Wyatt vs. Knight to the Survivor Series card less than 24 hours before the event. One thing we o know: this storyline still has a ways to go as we head into the final weeks of 2022.

    Wyatt Masks

Finally, Fightful also notes that several Bray Wyatt masks are being brought to SmackDown.

Check back later tonight for our WWE SmackDown results and takeaways feature.

There are several items advertised for SmackDown, but the most consequential match will determine which team gets the numbers advantage the men’s WarGames match. This Saturday night, Drew McIntyre, Kevin Owens and the Brawling Brutes go to war with The Bloodline.

Tonight on SmackDown, Sheamus and Drew McIntyre will face Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions The Usos in a non-title match to determine which team will gets the first entry into WarGames, which provides a 1-man advantage for a good portion of the match.

RAW Women’s Champion Bianca Belair will be on SmackDown, along with Asuka, Alexa Bliss and Mia Yim, to reveal the final member of their WarGames team. The SmackDown World Cup Tournament also continues with two semi-final matches.

  • Sami Zayn: Fan Response to the Honorary Uce has Exceeded Expectations

Sami Zayn: Fan Response to the Honorary Uce has Exceeded Expectations

Sami Zayn was confident that his work in the Bloodline would go well, but even he has been blown away by just how popular it has been.

Zayn has been aligned with the faction for months now and was crowned the Honorary Uce on SmackDown last month by Roman Reigns.

Tomorrow night, Zayn and the rest of the Bloodline will enter WarGames against the Brawling Brutes, Drew McIntyre and Kevin Owens.

    Strange Beginnings

Prior to becoming an official member, Zayn had been trying to worm his way into the group for months.

Speaking on After the Bell, Zayn explained how at first glimpse, the idea of a Syrian-Canadian being part of the Anoa’I wrestling dynasty must seem odd.

“It’s not something you predict ahead of time. It’s not something that you want to see or would think would make sense. But in the execution [it has worked.]

“The concept is a bit strange. All the Bloodline is a family, and here’s this person who is clearly not family. The whole thing doesn’t make sense on paper. But it’s the perfect example of when things work in execution more than they do on paper.”

“All the Bloodline is a family, and here’s this person who is clearly not family.”

Sami Zayn on his role with The Bloodline.

    The Execution

On paper, Sami Zayn in the Bloodline shouldn’t work, but not only has it worked, but it has become arguably the most popular act in WWE today.

Zayn admitted that the execution of the idea has proven to be the difference maker, and it’s not the first time that a strange idea has been pulled off by the right person.

“There are so many things that I think you could say the same about. The easiest one that we often fall back to, just as an example: the People’s Elbow. If you wrote down ‘Rock comes up with a new move called the People’s Elbow, where he stands over the guy and does this,’ it doesn’t read like something that’s going to become iconic.”

“It’s the execution. It’s the performer, the time, and the place, and all these variables that make it magic and make it special.”

    Sami Zayn.

Speaking to BBC Radio 1 in 2020, Triple H, the first recipient of the People’s Elbow, said that The Rock invented the move as a way to make his opponents crack up and break character.

    Exceeding Expectations

Sami Zayn spent years as a lovable underdog babyface, but it is perhaps his role as the heelish Honorary Uce, that has proven to be his most popular work.

When asked, Zayn said he was confident in his own abilities, but he could not predict just how ‘over’ his role in the Bloodline has been.

“I’m not entirely surprised at the success of the segments that we’ve done, but it has still exceeded my expectations.”

“I knew it would be good, but I didn’t think that fans would take to it the way they have.”

    Sami Zayn.

Zayn has proven to be so popular, that fans were chanting for him in Saudi Arabia, despite Sami not attending any Saudi shows due to his Syrian heritage.

For use of these quotes please give a h/t to SEScoops.

  • Rumor Killer on WWE Already Planning Men’s 2023 Money in the Bank Winner

Rumor Killer on WWE Already Planning Men’s 2023 Money in the Bank Winner

LA Knight may be impressing fans with his actions on SmackDown, but he isn’t destined to hold the Money in the Bank briefcase just yet.

Knight was called up to the main roster in April this year, originally as Max Dupri, the heel manager of the Maximum Male Models.

Ditching the name in favor of his NXT moniker, Knight recently began a feud with Bray Wyatt.

    Money in the Bank

Recently, it was rumored that Knight has been penciled in to win the Men’s 2023 Money in the Bank Ladder match, earning himself a future World Champion.

Knight is rumored to be a favorite of WWE’s Head of Creative and Talent Triple H, but this hasn’t guaranteed him the briefcase.

One source within WWE who spoke to Fightful Select said that while they like Knight, there are no plans for him to win Money in the Bank at this time.

The source added that there are no “definitive plans across the board for months down the line,” never mind picking a specific person to win the briefcase.

It was also said that Knight winning the Men’s contract next year could happen, as he is a “great performer” but nothing has been confirmed or even discussed yet.

    Austin Theory

Austin Theory is the most recent holder of the Men’s Money in the Bank contract but failed in his cash-in on U.S. Champion Seth Rollins.

Speaking to Fightful, the source added that if WWE really wanted Knight to hold the briefcase, it would have been easy for Theory to lose his contract to the former Million Dollar Champion.

Since losing his match with Rollins, a much more serious Theory has attacked the U.S. Champion, and both he and Bobby Lashley will challenge for the title at WWE Survivor Series WarGames.

Latest on WWE Possibly Scrapping Popular Stipulation Premium Live Event

WWE’s Premium Live Event calendar is expected to undergo a major overhaul next year, as part of the promotion’s new regime.

Since Vince McMahon’s retirement, Triple H has been appointed as both head of Creative, replacing McMahon, and head of Talent Relations, replacing John Laurinaitis.

The Game’s tenure in the roles has seen multiple ex-Superstars brought back and remove rules on certain ‘banned’ terms.

    Premium Live Events

Last month, it was reported that WWE’s annual Hell in a Cell event is “completely dead,” as part of Triple H’s plan to scrap stipulation events.

Instead, high-profile stipulations will be used when the storyline demands, an idea that has gone down well with fans.

There have been rumors that WWE could also scrap the annual Money in the Bank event, and would likely host the two ladder matches on each night of WrestleMania.

Fightful Select asked several members of creative and higher-ups in WWE, who said that the idea of scrapping Money in the Bank as an event hasn’t come across their desks as of yet.

The report added that the idea of ending the Premium Live Event, which has been a staple since 2010 “isn’t impossible.”

    Other Shows

Even if WWE Money in the Bank is safe, many Premium Live Events may not be as lucky.

Starting in 2009, WWE introduced several stipulation-based Premium Live Events which may now face the ax.

Elimination Chamber is likely to go, as, like Hell in a Cell, it is a stipulation close to the heart of Triple H.

Not only did the Game compete in the first three Chamber matches, but he also won the second one in Summerslam 2003.

Other events that could go include WWE TLC and WWE Extreme Rules.

  • Becky Lynch Training in Ireland Amid WWE Return Rumors

Becky Lynch Training in Ireland Amid WWE Return Rumors

Becky Lynch is getting in fighting shape, ahead of her rumored return to WWE programming on this Friday’s SmackDown.

Lynch last competed at Summerslam 2022, marking a year since her return from pregnancy, where she unsuccessfully challenged Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair.

The Man suffered a shoulder injury during the title match, which has kept her on the shelf ever since.

    Training

Lynch hasn’t competed on WWE TV in close to four months, but the former champion remains in impressive physical condition.

In one of her Instagram stories, Lynch shared that she was in Ireland at the time, and has been training at The Edge Gym with trainer James Swann.

    The Return

Lynch may have been in her native Ireland this week, but she is expected to be in Providence, Rhode Island tomorrow night.

WWE has confirmed that the fifth woman for Team Bianca ahead of this Saturday’s Survivor Series WarGames event will be revealed on tomorrow’s SmackDown.

It has been reported that Lynch will be the final woman in the WarGames match, and will team with Belair, Asuka, Alexa Bliss, and Mia Yim.

The group will go up against Team Damage, consisting of Damage CTRL’s Bayley, Dakota Kai, and IYO SKY, as well as Nikki Cross and the Judgment Day’s Rhea Ripley.

This Saturday’s Premium Live Event will mark the first use of WarGames on the main roster, after previously featuring the iconic wrestling match type at WWE NXT events.

  • Backstage Update on The Rock’s Status for WWE Royal Rumble 2023

Backstage Update on The Rock’s Status for WWE Royal Rumble 2023

Roman Reigns has eclipsed 800 days as Undisputed WWE Universal Champion and it doesn’t seem like anyone is going to stop him soon.

The Tribal Chief defeated Logan Paul in his latest title defense at WWE Crown Jewel. Roman will not put the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship on the line this Saturday at WWE Survivor Series.

Reigns will be battling alongside The Bloodline in a WarGames match against The Brawling Brutes, Drew McIntyre, and Kevin Owens. Honorary Uce Sami Zayn has already guaranteed a victory for The Bloodline on last week’s edition of SmackDown.

The Rock Reportedly Will Not be at Royal Rumble 2023

The Rock has been rumored to be Roman Reigns’ opponent for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at WrestleMania 39 for some time now. Next year’s WrestleMania will air from SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles. The Rock has dominated Hollywood since leaving professional wrestling and LA seemed like a perfect destination for his return match.

According to a new report from Ringside News, The Rock will not be at the Royal Rumble event on January 28th at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas. Ringside said they spoke to a “tenured member of the WWE creative team” and were told that The Great One will not be at the event.

The report added that The Rock is still a “virtual lock” to be at WrestleMania but is unlikely to appear at the premium live event in January. The winner of the Royal Rumble match will earn a shot at the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at WrestleMania 39.

  • Sheamus Reveals Why He Treats Every Match Like it is WrestleMania

Sheamus Reveals Why He Treats Every Match Like it is WrestleMania

Sheamus is set to battle in a WarGames match this Saturday at WWE Survivor Series.

The Celtic Warrior will team up with Budge, Ridge Holland, Drew McIntyre, and Kevin Owens to battle The Bloodline in the men’s WarGames match this Saturday at the TD Garden in Boston, MA.

The Bloodline brutally attacked Sheamus on a recent edition of SmackDown and sent him to a local medical facility. Sheamus returned with revenge on his mind heading into the WarGames match at the premium live event. Sami Zayn has also already guaranteed a victory for The Bloodline.

Sheamus on Treating Every Match Like it is WrestleMania

Sheamus has had an amazing year in WWE so far. He came up short in his battle against Gunther at Clash at the Castle, but received a standing ovation from the fans in Cardiff.

Speaking with Shak Wrestling, the 44-year-old noted that he thought his career was over recently, so he doesn’t take any opportunity to get inside the ring for granted.

I knew I had more to prove, and I came back and [thought] what have I got to lose? I thought my career was gonna be over and I got a second chance.

Every time I get in that ring, it’s a blessing. It’s an opportunity to show everybody what I can do because that literally could be my last time in the ring.

I don’t wanna go out that way, I don’t wanna go out in a way where it’s something lackluster. So my mentality is to treat every match as possible, given the time and given the segment and given where it is, but try and make every match you do like a WrestleMania moment or a WrestleMania match.

I can’t go out there and half-ass anything. It’s just not in my DNA. I wanna go out there and put on banger after banger after banger. I wanna raise everybody.

  • Brock Lesnar Refused to Wrestle Kevin Owens

Brock Lesnar Refused to Wrestle Kevin Owens

Brock Lesnar has worked with some of the biggest names in the history of the wrestling business although he has been known to be hard to work with.

Jon Moxley, formerly known as Dean Ambrose, has spoken openly about Lesnar not wanting to do anything wild in their WrestleMania 32 match in 2016.

On the latest edition of the Oh You Didn’t Know podcast WWE Hall of Famer Road Dogg spoke about Lesnar and this is where he claimed that The Beast didn’t want to work with Kevin Owens.

    The Story

    Brock Lesnar
    (via WWE)

This was brought up when discussing Lesnar facing AJ Styles at Survivor Series instead of Jinder Mahal after Lesnar said he didn’t want to work with Kevin Owens:

“I want to clarify, it is not that he did not want to work with Jinder. It’s that he really thought he could have a better match with AJ. So I just wanted that to be clear. Like because look, I don’t think I’ve ever heard of Brock saying I don’t want [to], I’m not working with that guy. Well, I did, I did hear that with Kevin Owens, but only him.”

Road pointed out how Lesnar had a good amount of pull due to the relationship he has with Vince McMahon.

“Look, Brock is that kind of talent, like I just talked about, has a special relationship with Vince. And so apparently they had a conversation and, and a decision, a creative decision was made. We’re gonna go with AJ Styles as a champion into this tournament at Night of Champions.”

  • Booker T Tells Hilarious Story Of His First Singles Title Win In WCW

Booker T Tells Hilarious Story Of His First Singles Title Win In WCW

Booker T had a dream run in WCW. He started off at the bottom as part of the Harlem Heat tag team and worked his way up to the main event scenes, eventually becoming the final WCW champion in the history of the company. Apart from his talent, Booker’s luck played a big part in his success, including his first singles title in the company.

The wrestling veteran recently appeared on Ryan Satin’s Out of Character. Talking about WCW, the former world champion mentioned how he got to learn a lot during his time in the company. T then recalled how he won his first singles title because Rick Martel had forgotten to bring his wrestling boots:

“I miss WCW. I had a great time getting polished up, to cut my teeth in WCW working with a lot of great talent. Just getting a chance more than anything. That’s the only thing I was looking for in WCW – a chance and an opportunity.” said Booker T, “I got several opportunities in that company. Every time I got an opportunity, I pretty much cashed in on it. When I got the Television Championship, it was because Rick Martel had forgotten his boots. He forgot his boots and he was supposed to win the championship that night from Disco Inferno.

He thought he was coming to TV just to do an interview but they still had to get the title off Disco. So they said ‘Book, we’re gonna put the title on you and we’re gonna give Rick Martel a couple of weeks down the road. When [will] that [be] we’ll figure that out. We’re gonna put it on you tonight.’ I was thinking ‘Man you put the title on me, you’re never gonna get it back. I’m gonna hold onto that title forever. What are you thinking.’”

  • NJPW, WWE, AEW & Stardom Talent to Compete at Wrestle Kingdom in 17 (Report)

NJPW, WWE, AEW & Stardom Talent to Compete at Wrestle Kingdom in 17 (Report)

Talent from four of the biggest promotions in the world will come together for Wrestle Kingdom.

The show, scheduled for January 4, 2023, will be the seventeenth Wrestle Kingdom event, New Japan’s biggest annual event.

Next year’s show will mark the first time since 2019 that Wrestle Kingdom will take place on one day.

    Karl Anderson

Earlier this week, it was reported that WWE Raw Superstar Karl Anderson will defend his NJPW Never Openweight Championship at the World Tag League/Super Junior Tag League finals on Wednesday, December 14.

Anderson was previously scheduled to defend his title at NJPW Battle Autumn but instead competed at WWE Crown Jewel, which took place the same day.

In an update from Fightful Select, it is reported that NJPW and WWE have agreed that next month won’t be Anderson’s last match in Japan, and that he will work the Tokyo Dome.

Sources who spoke to Fightful said Gallows and Anderson have “always been penciled in” to compete at Wrestle Kingdom, despite reports of tension.

Gallows and Anderson had committed to working these dates for New Japan before their WWE returns in October and before leaving Impact Wrestling in August.

    The Four

Having (at least) two WWE Superstars compete at Wrestle Kingdom is a huge deal, but just part of a stacked show.

Of course, New Japan’s own talent will be competing at the show, but so will names from AEW and Stardom.

AEW’s Kenny Omega will challenge IWGP United States Heavyweight Champion Will Ospreay.

KAIRI, who recently became the first IWGP Women’s Champion, will defend her title against fellow STARDOM wrestler Tam Nakano.

  • ‘Road Dogg’ Jesse James to Jeff Jarrett: “Sorry I Took Your Job”

‘Road Dogg’ Jesse James to Jeff Jarrett: “Sorry I Took Your Job”

Road Dogg Jesse James is WWE’s Senior Vice President of Live Events but is remorseful for taking the role from Jeff Jarrett.

In May of this year, Jarrett was rehired by WWE for the role and would appear on screen in July as a special guest referee at Summerslam 2022.

Mere weeks after officiating The Usos vs. The Street Profits, Jarrett was released from the company, and Road Dogg served as his replacement.

    Sorry

Before being appointed WWE’s Senior VP of Live Events, Road Dogg worked for years as a producer and writer for WWE.

Speaking on the latest episode of ‘Oh You Didn’t Know,’ the New Age Outlaw addressed his time backstage, and how names can be cut for seemingly no reason.

“Look, you can be doing your job, and one day someone not like it, and the next day you’re not there.”

    Road Dogg Jesse James.

When James’ co-host Conrad Thompson joked that Jarrett used the same line after losing the SVP role, Road Dogg saw the funny side but was apologetic.

“[Laughs] Bless his heart, I’m so sorry. It hurts me when you say that. But I bet it hurts him a hell of a lot more. [Laughs] I’m so sorry Jeff.”

    Road Dogg Jesse James.

    Jeff Jarrett is All-Elite

Jarrett’s return to WWE was short-lived but the ‘Chosen One’ has bounced back nicely.

On the November 2, 2022, Dynamite, Jarrett debuted for AEW, his first televised appearance for a wrestling show on TBS since the final WCW Monday Nitro in March 2001.

At AEW Full Gear, Double-J made his AEW in-ring debut, teaming with Jay Lethal against Sting and Darby Allin in a losing effort.

  • Marvel Studios Considered WWE Raw Superstar for Huge Movie Role

Marvel Studios Considered WWE Raw Superstar for Huge Movie Role

Damian Priest has proven himself in WWE as part of NXT and the main roster and has seemingly caught the eye of Hollywood.

Priest debuted on the main roster as part of the 2021 Men’s Royal Rumble match and captured the United States Championship at Summerslam that same year.

Earlier this year, Priest turned heel and aligned himself with The Judgment Day, which consists of himself, Rhea Ripley, Finn Balor, and Dominik Mysterio.

Damian Priest – King of Talokan

Earlier this month, Marvel Studios released Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, a sequel to the 2018 film Black Panther.

Fightful Select reports that Priest was asked by Marvel to read for the role of Namor, the primary antagonist of the film.

The iconic Marvel antihero made his comic-book debut in Marvel Comics #1 back in October 1939.

The report adds that Priest was also considered for a role as one of the other “featured members” of Namor’s kingdom, the Talokan.

Priest has no official acting credits to his name, and it is unclear whether he attended the line reading.

The Judgment Day member does not appear in the film, with Namor instead being played by Mexican actor Tenoch Huerta.

    Wrestling and Comic Books

Priest is not the latest high-profile name to join the MCU, but the world of wrestling and Comic Book movies are linked.

In Marvel’s Cinematic Universe, Batista has made several appearances as Drax the Destroyer, part of the Guardians of the Galaxy.

‘Macho Man’ Randy Savage played Bonesaw McGraw in the 2002 Spider-Man film, while NJPW/WCW name Tyler Mane would play Sabertooth in the 2000 X-Men film.

For DC Comics, The Rock wowed audiences earlier this year with his work as Black Adam, while John Cena plays Peacemaker in 2021’s The Suicide Squad and the HBO Peacemaker series.

  • The Undertaker to Attend WWE Survivor Series WarGames 2022

The Undertaker to Attend WWE Survivor Series WarGames 2022

WWE Survivor Series WarGames will be watched live and in person by The Undertaker, PW Insider reports.

This Saturday will mark the latest Survivor Series event, and the first since 1994 not to happen on a Sunday.

The report adds that the Phenom’s wife Michelle McCool will also be in attendance for the event.

It is noted that the duo will be backstage, and it is not specified whether an on-screen appearance could happen.

The Undertaker famously debuted at Survivor Series 1990 as part of Ted DiBiase’s Million Dollar Team.

    Who Won’t be There?

The Undertaker and McCool will be at Survivor Series WarGames, but not every big star will be in town.

In the report, PW Insider adds that there is no confirmation on whether Sasha Banks, Naomi, or Charlotte Flair will be at the event.

All three women have been missing from WWE TV since May, with Banks and Naomi absent due to being suspended following their May 16, Raw walkout.

Flair has been missing since losing the SmackDown Women’s Championship at WrestleMania Backlash.

While all three would be fine additions to Team Bianca, it is believed that the fifth woman for the Women’s War Games match will be someone else. Click here to find out.

    Survivor Series WarGames

This Saturday will mark WWE’s annual Survivor Series event, which for the first time ever, will use WarGames matches.

Undertaker and McCool have a stacked show to enjoy, including two WarGames matches.

SmackDown Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey will defend against Shotzi, while Finn Balor will take on AJ Styles.

As confirmed on Raw, U.S. Champion Seth Rollins will defend against Bobby Lashley and Austin Theory.
