  • Change Of Plans For DiBiase’s Group, Top Star Turning Heel

    – WWE needs another strong heel on the SmackDown brand and two names that have been discussed for the spot are Kofi Kingston and MVP.

    – Developmental talent Brett DiBiase, brother of Ted DiBiase, will be going in for knee surgery next week and will be missing several months of action. There had been plans for Ted DiBiase to lead a new group of second generation wrestlers, which would include his brother Bret as well as Joe Hennig, son of the late Mr. Perfect Curt Hennig. With Bret out of commission, there’s been talk of putting Carlito and Primo in the stable but that hasn’t been officially decided on.

With the fate of DiBiase’s new “priveleged sons” group on hold, WWE still wants to bring Joe Hennig to the main roster and pair him with DiBiase. Hennig, a standout developmental talent, was originally scheduled for this season of NXT until officials decided not to have any second generation stars on this season.

    — Beth Phoenix reportedly suffered a torn ACL that is expected to keep her out of action indefinitely.

The reigning Women’s Champion initially suffered the injury at last week’s SmackDown television tapings when she worked a match with Rosa Mendes for WWE Superstars.

As far as her Women’s Title is concerned, an angle will occur on tomorrow night’s episode of Friday Night Smackdown involving the belt.

    — Just before his release last month from WWE, Shelton Benjamin had gone back to college. He will be receiving his degree at the end of this semester from the University of Minnesota. Benjamin was a two-time All-American wrestler before being recruited alongside Brock Lesnar by Gerald Brisco to join the promotion in 2000.

    — Having passed 1,000 days as WWE Champion, John Cena is the fifth longest reigning champion in history, trailing Bruno Sammartino (4,040 days), Hulk Hogan (2,185), Bob Backlund (2,138) and Pedro Morales (1,027).

  • WWE Denies Executive Was Fired For Sexual Harassment

World Wrestling Entertainment today denied a report from wrestling author Irv Muchnick that the company fired general counsel Jared Bartie over a sexual harassment claim.

In an e-mail to CorpCounsel.com, WWE said Bartie “was not terminated by WWE. Jared Bartie and WWE have parted ways amicably. James Langham is acting general counsel for WWE.”

It should be noted that WWE did not actually deny the sexual harassment claim.

According to Muchnick’s report, a female co-worker from the company’s sales department accused Bartie of making unwanted advances on her at a WrestleMania XXVI after-party in late March.

Muchnick also reported that the female co-worker in question was terminated last month. She was reportedly caught in a sex act with a subordinate male employee at the company’s work offices, during work hours.

  • JR Blog: Danielson’s WWE Future, Comparing Orton & Austin

WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross has updated his blog at JRsBarBQ.com with his thoughts on the following:

Tuesday’s NXT Broadcast:“NXT was a surprising show Tuesday night. I am a reality show fan by and large and have always thought that NXT would be more effective it we fans could see the NXT rookies outside the arena environment to be able to get to know them better. Perhaps the 2nd version of NXT will provide that. ”

Bryan Danielson’s Future: “Daniel Bryan aka Bryan Danielson is by far the best pure wrestler of the NXT group, eliminated or not, and no matter what his name may or may not be today.”

Comparing Randy Orton to Steve Austin: “Randy is merely being his TV persona but it does have some Austin-esque qualities. Randy just has to continue to put his own, individual touches on his fan favorite persona of which I have very high hopes for as time goes on.”

Brock Lesnar vs. Shane Carwin on 7/3: “No…Brock Lesnar vs. Shane Carwin won’t go 5 rounds on July 3 in Las Vegas. I hope to secure a pair of decent seats to this one and enjoy a few days in ‘Lost Wages’ with the Mrs.”

Cena also responded to a fan who asked whether he’d considering bringing back his old “rapper” gimimck. Cena said it’s unlikely,

“Guys, I really appreciate the respect for the freestyle. It would have no home in today’s environment. It would be a weak, watered down, rehash of something that was very fun to be a part of while it lasted. I still freestyle all the time, it just wouldn’t be right for me right now, I really like the place where I am, and where WWE is.”

  • Bret Hart Talks About Wrestling The Miz, WWE Travel & More

WWE Hall of Famer Bret “Hit Man” Hart has posted a new blog on Facebook talking about his United States title match with The Miz next week on RAW, becoming a grandfather this week and what it’s been like working with WWE since WrestleMania. Here are some highlights of what Bret said about:

Wrestling The Miz Next Week: “My son, Blade, just told me I’ve got a U.S. title shot next week in Toronto. News to me. The Hartbeat goes on,”

Based on Bret’s response, it’s safe to assume that next week’s “match” with The Miz will be heavy on “sports entertainment” without much wrestling on Bret’s part.

Working With WWE Since WrestleMania: “Sometimes I can barely remember this stuff. Being stuck in Europe, the volcanic ash, Joe Legend, Monday Night Raw in London, touring both Smackdown and Raw, and before that, WrestleMania 26. Did all that stuff really happen? What an adventure. Life is good.”

Becoming a Grandfather: “I finally became a proud grandfather yesterday when my oldest, Jade, gave birth to a 8lbs., 11oz. beautiful baby girl named Kyra Beans Hart. To be a grandpop is such an important role in a child’s life and I look forward to being a big part of her life and the best grandpa ever. Like all proud grandfathers, I truly feel blessed at this time and I also congratulate her mother, Julie, on a job well done from the very beginning.”

  • Lilian Garcia Responds To Mick Foley’s Comments Defending Her

Last Wednesday, Mick Foley published a blog on his MySpace account criticizing Triple H for mocking Lilian Garcia during her appearance on Raw last month. Garcia was back on Raw to fill in as ring announcer with most of the Raw crew grounded overseas.

The event in question occurred during Hunter’s show-opening monologue on the Apr. 19 Raw in which he made a crack about Garcia “horsing around.” The comment stems from those in the WWE’s “inner circle” often joking that Lilian has a horse-shaped face.

Foley wrote: “Why does someone like Triple H, one of the most talented, well paid guys in the business, do something so shallow and mean? Why would a multi-millionaire, with millions of fans around the world, feel the need (several times over the years) to say something that is only meant to hurt? I don’t get it. I don’t get why it’s done, I don’t get why it’s condoned, I don’t get what possible satisfaction anyone involved gets from demeaning someone like Lillian Garcia. I just don’t get it.”

Breaking her silence on the matter, Garcia wrote the following message to Foley on her Twitter account today: “Mick Foley, this tweet’s for you!! I really appreciate your kind words and the compassion you showed in your blog. Your care for my feelings proves what a loving, caring and wonderful human being you are. This is why I truly miss working with you. You are one of a kind!! Thank you, love you!!”

Foley acknowledged feedback he’s received since last week for chastising Triple H for his dig towards Garcia in a follow-up blog. He acknowledged that he may have cost himself professionally down the road, not to mention that some people may see him as a hypocrite, but felt he had to stand for certain principles in this situation.

Foley explained further: “I could go into great detail about why some of the issues raised (it was innocent joking around on Triple H’s part, I’m a hypocrite because I made fun of Al Snow, Test, etc., where was I during the Mickie James angle?) but I think it would be far more productive for readers to try to figure out the differences for themselves.”

Warning: The following contains a *Spoiler* for Friday’s WWE SmackDown

At Tuesday’s SmackDown tapings from Buffalo, NY, Kofi Kingston defeated Christian to capture the Intercontinental Title.

The letter that McIntyre presented to Long stated that Teddy is irresponsible and abused his power. It also stated that McIntyre is a gentleman who signifies what the future of WWE is. Per the letter, McIntyre is reinstated to the active roster and is once again recognized as the Intercontinental Champion. The letter was signed by Vince McMahon.

  • Three NXT Rookies Eliminated This Week: Updated Roster

After it was originally announced that one NXT rookie would be eliminated on this week’s show, three rookies were actually sent home this week.

Prior to revealing the results of the latest WWE Pros PNXT host Matt Striker confirmed that WWE management decided that two additional eliminations were in order.

Based on their promos at the end of last week’s show, Michael Tarver and Daniel Bryan were eliminated. The storyline was that because they believed they deserved to be eliminated this week, the WWE Universe had no reason to believe in them and they were dropped from the competition.

During the show, both gave “exit interviews” regarding their eliminations. Daniel Bryan’s was particularly noteworthy, in that he acknowledged that ‘Daniel Bryan’ was a fake  name created for the WWE NXT competition. Bryan said that while “Daniel Bryan” is very likely done, there is no telling what Bryan Danielson will accomplish in the future. Matt Striker called him ‘Bri’ on commentary and wished him “the best in his future endeavors.”

The angle appeared to kill of the Daniel Bryan character and suggested that we could see him wrestle as Bryan Danielson in the future.

As for the Pros Poll, the results and elimination were as follows:

  • Update On The WWE Exec Accused Of Sexual Harassment

    Jared Bartie

Update: Irv Muchnick, who broke this original story, now writes that sources within WWE have told him that Jared Bartie, the 5th-most powerful man in WWE’s corporate structure, has been let go from the company following accusations of sexual harassment over WrestleMania weekend from a female employee. Bartie’s profile no longer appears on the WWE Corporate website either – and WWE has yet to comment on the situation.

To recap … Jared Bartie was recently suspended from WWE after a female employee allegedly accused him of sexual harassment. The incident that led to Barie’s suspension took place over WrestleMania 26 weekend. Muchnick’s source says that Bartie had been drinking during the WrestleMania festivities in Phoenix and inappropriately hit on a female executive in WWE’s sales department.

Musnick reports that the same woman who accused Bartie of sexual harassment was fired from WWE a few weeks later after being seen performing a sex act on another WWE employee on company property during business hours.

  • Update On Drew McIntyre, McMahon Return Being Discussed

Reportedly, some people on WWE’s creative team have no idea where the Drew McIntyre firing angle is headed, let alone why it was done in the first place. It was originally speculated that he failed a drug test, but that’s largely because nobody could figure out any other good reason for his kayfabe removal. If nothing else, his removal was clearly apart of an angle considering he worked the company’s tour of Mexico last week.

It’s been speculated that the angle could lead to Vince McMahon returning as an on-screen character to reinstate his “Chosen One” and perhaps fire Theodore Long. As recently as a few days ago, there was in fact talk of bringing “Mr. McMahon” back to television.

Further indicating that his removal from WWE is all an angle, Matt Hardy wrote the following on his Twitter account after last Tuesday’s SmackDown taping: “As a favor to me, if ur a fan of mine-Let Drew McIntyre hear ‘We want Matt’ over & over again. This thing with him & I is just beginning. RT.”

It has been confirmed that McIntyre and Taryn Terrell (a/k/a Tiffany) tied the knot a few weeks ago in Las Vegas. The feeling is that creative weren’t going to split them up immediately, meaning he’s likely not going to Raw.

  • Ted DiBiase’s New Storyline, Bret A Grandfather, Twitter

    – On RAW, we saw the beginning of a new storyline with Ted DiBiase, who has received a large trust fund from his father, the Million Dollar Man. The storyline goes that Ted was to receive the trust fund after either his 30th birthday or his first WrestleMania match, which happened this year. Ted is using his money to pay off WWE Superstars off, as seen on RAW last night with the Colons attacking R-Truth. He’s also sporting the classic Million Dollar Belt.

    – Jim Ross noted on Twitter last night that Bret Hart’s daughter Alexandra Sabina Hart gave birth to a baby girl named Kyra Beans Hart. The baby’s middle name comes from Alexandra’s nickname, Beans.

  • WWE RAW Results (5/10): Hosted By Flavor Flav

    Report by Kendra

This week’s RAW starts with video from last week’s The Cutting Edge where Edge complained about being drafted to RAW. Wayne Brady came out for a few minutes of pop, then Orton came out and hit the RKO on Brady. Edge tried to talk Orton down, reminded Orton about Rated RKO, but then Orton went for the RKO. Edge pushed off, but when Edge tried to spear, Orton hit the RKO.

The way they walk on this show and they think they run things. He did something about it. He called WWE Headquarters, complained long and loud. They Tweeted him back. From here on out Guest Celebrity Hosts have authority on RAW. That wasn’t enough for Edge. RAW needs a permanent GM. Someone who has experience, authority, the moxie to pull this job off. They agreed again. You’ll never guess who they picked to be the new permanent GM of RAW… Edge announces Vickie Guerrero. Out she comes screeching ‘Excuse me!’ The fans are HOT! She would like to state for the record… Edge says that she says, excuse her. She says despite her personal relationship with Edge in the past, she’s there to be a true professional. Randy, speaking of professionalism, Randy attacking celebrities won’t be allowed. He will be reprimanded. Orton told her to come down and reprimand him to his face. Edge says Orton’s a bully, but will learn what it feels like to be bullied. Vickie says tonight, due to his behavioral issues, Orton will take on Edge and a partner of his choice in a Two On One Handicap Match. Backstage Josh asks Orton if he’s at all worried about his match tonight. Orton says there’s nothing he can do about it, so he’s not concerned. He’d like Vickie to come to ringside so he’s sure tonight’s a night she’ll never forget.

    – Commercial

Cena’s music and he comes to the ring. 14,162 fans on their feet for the last time in the Igloo. Mixed reaction for Cena. He says this is a special occasion and it’s wonderful to be there. More mixed reaction. He wants to take this moment to thank Sheamus. Because of his outburst Cena had a whole week to think about his match with Batista. Maybe Batista was right. He did beat Batista, but it was intellectual, didn’t involve brute force. Some people thought it was the easy way out, an act of cowardice. He’s been called many things, but he’s not a coward. Tonight he’ll prove it. He stands in front of u with great power. He can choose anything. He can make Batista wear a blindfold. Make him wear hand cuffs. He can make him hop on one leg. That would be the act of a coward. This match at Over The Limit will be fair, but brutal. Very, very brutal. It will be the last time he faces Batista for the WWE Title. He‘s going on the record now saying that if Batista wins, he’s forfeiting his rematch clause. That being said, there’s only one match they can have. At Over The Limit, he’ll face Dave Batista in an I Quit Match. If Batista wants to shut him up and see Cena go, he has to make him say two words. He has to owe this all to Sheamus. He’d like to thank Sheamus, so how about that human jar of mayonnaise comes out so Cena can thank him in person. No music. Cena thought he wasn’t coming, but then the music started and he comes out to the stage. Sheamus says Cena wants to thank him? Cena hasn’t thought this through. If Sheamus comes to the match he won’t be in any condition to face Batista. Everyone knows this. So he’ll ask again, does Cena really want him down there? Cena says he’s head what Sheamus said and… off comes the shirt and hat. Cena says he’ll take his chances. Sheamus says he’s just lost his Championship. Batista shows up behind Cena. Henry down on one knee to check on Cena. “Cena” chants from the women and children. Henry right there to help Cena up.

Backstage Edge goes up to Vickie. Edge says he has a partner. Edge says he said some horrible things about Vickie. He wanted some sympathy for her, but it didn’t work. They decided they can be friends. Edge wants her ringside. Vickie says Orton’s a snake, cold blooded. Edge told her to come out. She demanded a guarantee that he doesn’t touch her. Edge says he guarantees her, plus she can fire him on the spot. She needs to be there to show she can’t be intimidated and so she can she the look on Orton’s face when he’s defeated. She says she’ll be there.

Natalya, as much as she’d love to wrestle around in the ring with him, no. Live in Toronto, commercial free, he’ll face… (The fans know) Bret ‘The Hitman’ Hart. The Dynasty’s not sure about this. Natalya looks the most shocked.

Backstage Josh stops Batista and says he’s heard that Batista’s facing Henry later. Batista asks if Josh knows about the I Quit Match. He’s not going to make Cena say I Quit, he’s going to make Cena scream it. Don’t believe him? Watch what he does to Mark Henry.

He wants to know what’s going on. Kozlov says Santino won’t leave him alone. Santino says they’d make a great team. Flavor Flav wants to work it out. Regal comes in and tells Kozlov to ignore Santino. Regal says Flavor Flav can’t rap. Kozlov tells Regal to bust a move. Regal does. Straight out of Blackpool, I’m William Regal, rhymes so fresh, they shouldn’t be legal. Regal goes on to rap in a British snotty way (which I thought was bloody great & hysterical). Flavor Flav took him down!

King and Cole talk about Over The Limit and the matches on the card.

Batista comes out to the ring. Video of Batista and Sheamus attacking Cena earlier in the show. Henry made the save, now Batista has to face Henry. Batista is sitting in a folding chair in the ring, spotlight on him.

  • Betty White Hosting RAW? Jim Ross Compares WWE-UFC

    Actress Betty White

    – Actress Betty White’s Wikipedia page claims she will host the Memorial Day edition of WWE Raw on May 31. The show will take place from Austin, Texas. Wikipedia is not the most reliable source, so take this one as a rumor for now. The 88 year old actress hosted NBC’s Saturday Night Live over the weekend and the show drew a better rating than usual. Her SNL hosting gig came about after a grassroots campaign on Facebook.

    – WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross has updated his blog at JRsBarBQ.com with some comments on how WWE’s production values compare to the UFC’s. Ross wrote, “WWE still has the TV production edge on UFC as WWE would have made the live event feel bigger than it did Saturday night with their shot selection and the way the event was mic’ed. The Bell Centre was packed but there were too many close up shots up dudes drinking and not enough shots of pretty women in attendance. I thought Joe Rogan and Mike Goldberg were on their game Saturday night and enjoyed their work. I have to admit when the show came on the air that I was ‘Jonseing’ at bit at the adrenaline rush the feel of the event gave me.”
