  • Gail Kim Denies Injury Reports, James Discusses Crossing Over

    — Gail Kim posted a note on her official website to clear up rumors that have been circulating online regarding an alleged injury sustained this past week on Monday Night Raw.

She wrote: “I’m mainly writing a message because I’m getting concerned emails about an injury??? I am not injured. I don’t know where that came from?? oh well…. thanks for the concern everyone. Off for the road once again, so tune in monday and check out those smart, sexy and powerful DIVAS….!!!!”

    — Mickie James discusses crossing over into the world of country music in an interview with the Miami Herald.

“If anything, people are thinking it’s kind of cool,” James said. “I think it’s human nature to say, ‘You’re a wrestler. That is what you do.’ I think it can be hard sometimes for people to understand that you can have more than one thing you like to do.”

“It’s really crazy for the most part that everyone has been really cool about it. Some people who aren’t even wrestling fans have no idea who I am. It’s a whole new journey for me.”

Though she has crossed over to country music, James believes she still has more to accomplish in the world of wrestling. Therefore, she doesn’t see herself leaving an industry she worked so hard to break into.

“I still have history to make and some goals. I love it so much,” said James. “I have already dedicated much of my life to it. I definitely want to go down as the greatest of all time. That’s what anyone, who has ever wanted something, believes. That is their main goal. I want to keep bettering myself. There is new competition coming in, so I have to work to keep my name at the top.”

    — Angelo Poffo’s funeral service will be held this Monday morning at St. Joseph Church in Downers Grove, Illinois. The address is 4824 Highland Ave, Downers Grove, Illinois 60515-3615. The webmaster of Lanny Poffo’s official website, www.LannyPoffo.com, noted that the family “would like to extend the invitation to any friends or fans that would like to attend.”

    — In today’s birthday, former TNA wrestler Sean Morley turns 39, former United States Champion David Flair turns 31, and 1980s WWF wrestler Killer Khan turns 62.

  • Mickie James Undergoes Surgeries To Treat Staph Infection

WWE Diva Mickie James underwent surgical procedures Monday and Thursday in an attempt to remove a staph infection.

There is currently no time frame available for when she’ll be able to be able to return to action.

James posted the following messages and picture on Twitter earlier this week regarding the surgery:

Sorry I’ve been mia the last few days James Gang! Fact is your leader has taken a bad hit. Surgery Monday & today.

Being laid up in the hospital is no fun :-( but I didn’t want u all to worry. So now we show just how tough we r! How we can’t be stopped!

Nothing ever worth fighting for is ever easy… So we ride! To glory… To Wrestlemania… Embracing Strangers & Angels… Are you with me?!

  • More Guest Hosts Announced, Former WWE Writer Speaks

    – WWE.com has announced that the cast for the upcoming comedy movie “Hot Tub Time Machine” will be guest-hosting WWE RAW on March 29, the night after WrestleMania. Commercials for the movie, which hits theaters on March 26, have begun airing during WWE RAW. To see a full list of the upcoming RAW guest hosts, visit WWE.com.

    Comedian and actor Patrice O'Neal

    – Comedian Patrice O’Neal recently spoke to Atlantic City Weekly about his brief run as a member of the WWE creative team. “I had to audition to get it so I actually wrote a scenario where they wanted me to write a finish to an existing beef and conclude it in a Pay-per-View match,” O’Neal said. “I think I was doing the Undertaker and Triple H and I had to escalate it for three weeks and then end it with a Pay-per-View. At the time I was really into wrestling so that was easy to do and my writing sample got the job.”

O’Neal says short time he spent working for WWE was exciting and he doesn’t sound upset that his run didn’t last longer. “It was fun; I flew around on a WWE jet, [got to] roll with some of the big-time wrestlers … and directed a couple of vignettes. So when that ended it was almost like it should’ve ended cause it was a good experience and I didn’t have to see anything I shouldn’t see and didn’t have to deal with anything I shouldn’t have dealt with. It was just short and sweet.

Being a huge WWE fan and finally getting to work closely with the larger than life personalities we see on television every week, O’Neal says it was actually the boss who he was in awe of. “Vince McMahon was one of the few people I’ve ever seen that I was in complete awe of his presence, you know? He was the man, he was the boss. I learned a lot of things in like three days looking at Vince McMahon and how he operates; it was a hell of a thing.

  • Hulk Hogan Talks About His Past Steroid Use (VIDEO)

Hulk Hogan appeared on Don Imus’ Fox Business News radio show this morning to hype his return to the ring this coming Monday night on TNA iMPACT!

After going through his usual story of hitting rock bottom during his divorce and getting his life back together, Imus asked Hogan if he ever used steroids and if so, whether he still does. Hogan replied:

“Nawwww. I think we’ve been re-educated. I’m back at my weight when I was in ninth grade here – about 290 pounds. When I was on steroids, I was about 325, 330.”

After Hogan admitted that he did used to use steroids when they were legal, Imus asked him the drugs took a toll on his body over the years.

“Yeah, I beat my body up pretty bad. I don’t think any. I didn’t abuse them. When I did them, it was a situation that it was legal at the time and the doctors would monitor you and I would always have my blood taken. It wasn’t a situation where I went to some gym and buy a bag of unlabeled bottles and try to get to 450 pounds. I had a little bit of common sense. You can tell the guys that went down that road have health problems now and things are crazy wrong with them.”

Hogan is “in character” for most of the interview and also talks about Vince McMahon vs. John Cena on RAW Monday night, Ric Flair’s recent domestic violence incident and more.

  • Bischoff Reveals Interesting Bret Hart – WWE Information

Did WWE have to buy out a major insurance policy in order to get Bret Hart to participate in a match at WrestleMania?

TNA executive Eric Bischoff was asked this week on Facebook if he thought the Bret Hart vs. Vince McMahon storyline was being done well. Bischoff responded with:

“For what it is..yes. Allegedly WWE found out about a Lloyds of London (insurance) policy that Bret had in effect AFTER setting up this match, and as a result Lloyds of London has to approve of the physical structure of the match. Can’t confirm this, and perhaps WWE has “bought out” the problem, but if not..could be disappointing. Either way, I am looking forward to it and am happy for Bret. Going back to WWE in any capacity was the right thing for him to do at this stage of his life.”

SEScoops Analysis: Though Bischoff is unable to confirm that validity of this story, it appears that Bret Hart has been collecting insurance money due to his health preventing him from making a living in the ring. With Bret Hart is getting physical once again at WrestleMania, those payments would stop. When Bischoff says WWE might have “bought out” the problem, he means that WWE would have to be paying Bret Hart enough for him to voluntarily wave the insurance money he’d automatically receive by not wrestling.

  • New RAW Guest Host Announced, Maria On The Red Carpet

    – Former WWE Diva Maria Kanellis made her first public appearance since being released from WWE last week at TheWrap.com’s 2010 Awards Season Nominee Celebration over the weekend in Beverly Hills. Paul Heyman covered the event on his website and posted pictures of Maria from the event, which you can see at HeymanHustle.com.

    – Contrary to speculation that WWE would be ending the RAW Guest Host angle after Steve Austin hosts on March 15th, WWE.com has announced that MLB great and WWE Hall of Famer Pete Rose will be the guest host of the March 22 edition of Raw. • New Details On NXT’s Format, Possible WM26 Celebrity

    – It’s believed WWE is trying to get NXT star David Otunga’s fiancee Jennifer Hudson to sing the National Anthem at WrestleMania this year.

    – It was announced on this week’s WWE NXT show that the rookies will progress through the season by having the WWE Pros vote on and evaluate the Rookies. The Pros can’t vote for their own Rookies.

    – Even with that new information regarding the format of NXT, WWE still has yet to officially announce what the winner receives. One idea that has been discussed would have the winner recieve a WWE RAW contract and the runner up receive a SmackDown contract, but as you can imagine, nobody on SmackDown likes the idea of WWE openly acknowledging that RAW is the superior brand.  This has led to talk of there being two winners – with one going to RAW and the other going to SmackDown.

    – Chavo Guerrero noted on Twitter last night that he was busted open above his eye and had to get 6 stitches after his match with Kofi Kingston at the tapings. He posted a graphic picture on Twitter of the cut – check it out:

  • Jim Ross Blogs About Visiting RAW & Meeting With Bret Hart

WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross has updated his blog at JRsBarBQ.com. Here’s what JR said about visiting at WWE RAW last night from Oklahoma City:

Being at RAW Last Night: “It was great seeing so many of my friends from the WWE world Monday at the Ford Center. It is always good to catch up with long time acquaintances and how they and their families are doing. If I was asked once, I was asked a 100 times, ‘When are you coming back?’ I don’t have the exact answer to that question but my standard and honest response remains the same and that is that my goal is and always has been to return to WWE at Wrestlemania 26. If all the necessary arrangements can be made from a business perspective then that goal will hopefully become a reality.”

Meeting With Bret Hart At RAW: “Bret Hart and I had a long conversation Monday of which I enjoyed immensely. Bret is one of the all time greats, a WWE HOF’er, and has battled thru amazing adversity in overcoming a serious stroke to get to where he is today. Bret, as we discussed, will never be ‘100%’ but his heart and spirit are strong and he will no doubt do all he physically and mentally can to provide the fans their monies worth at WM26 versus Mr. McMahon. I personally can’t wait to see this attraction. Bret and I even talked casually about doing some appearances together, perhaps even some Q&A’s”

  • Is Jim Ross Returning At WrestleMania?

It was reported online that prior to last night’s Raw in Oklahoma, Jim Ross announced that he would be ringside at WrestleMania.

He has since tweeted that what he said was he hoped to be at ringside, not that he said he would be at ringside, and that nothing has yet been confirmed.

  • New Details On The Rock’s WWE Return This Summer

    Dwayne "The ROCK" Johnson

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson will in fact be returning to WWE this summer – and his return will be more than just a one-night gig hosting RAW.

In a radio interview with Boston’s Mix 104 last month, Johnson shed some new light on his return, which is expected to take place this summer.

When asked if he plans on wrestling a match in WWE this summer, The Rock said:

“How I would come back is a different capacity than what Hulk Hogan did or I believe Ric Flair is doing. Those guys are coming back to actually wrestle. I don’t want to wrestle; I have no intention of wrestling a match.”

.. at least that’s what he’s saying. So if he’s not wrestling, what’s the plan?

The Rock plans on having a major impact on WWE programming and could serve as a semi-permanent RAW Guest host for the entire summer:

“I do have intention of going back and hosting the show. Hosting a show like that would give me the opportunity to get on the microphone, rip open the writing, and invite guests on to come host with me. We wanted to create something cool and big and fun for the audience.”

The Rock’s WWE return appears to be this summer’s big angle. Two years ago, WWE went with “Million Dollar Mania” to spice things up. Last year, Donald Trump “bought” Raw and kicked off the weekly Guest Host storyline. While The Rock claims that he currently has no plan to get back in the ring when he returns to WWE in a few months, his presence alone on WWE television should be enough to heat things up this summer headed into SummerSlam.
