WWE WrestleMania London: Everything We Know Right Now

WWE WrestleMania might soon grace the iconic city of London. Recent discussions between Mayor of London Sadiq Khan and WWE’s Chief Content Officer, Paul “Triple H” Levesque, have sparked excitement and anticipation among wrestling fans.

Here’s a comprehensive look at everything we know about the potential for WrestleMania to be held in London.

WWE WrestleMania London: Sadiq Khan’s Ambitious Vision

Mayor Sadiq Khan has been vocal about his ambition to make London the “sporting capital of the world.” This vision includes hosting a variety of major international sporting events, from the Super Bowl to the Olympics, and now, WWE’s WrestleMania.

Khan’s commitment to this vision was evident in his recent meeting with Triple H, where they discussed the logistics and possibilities of bringing WWE’s flagship event to London.

In an interview with the PA news agency, Khan expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “I’m really excited to have begun conversations about bringing international WrestleMania to London. I know there are many fans in London and across the UK and Europe who are desperate to see WrestleMania live.”

    WWE’s Global Expansion

WrestleMania has of course traditionally been held in North America, with 40 of the iconic shows having taken place across the United States and two in Canada.

However, WWE has been expanding its global footprint, hosting premium live events in various countries in recent years.

Recent events have taken place in Cardiff, Glasgow, Saudi Arabia, Costa Rica, and France. This trend indicates WWE’s willingness to explore international venues for its marquee events, making London a plausible candidate for a future WrestleMania.

    WrestleMania’s Economic Impact

Hosting WrestleMania could bring significant economic benefits to London. Past events have demonstrated substantial economic impact for host cities.

For example, the Royal Rumble in St. Petersburg, Florida, generated over $47 million in economic impact, including $28 million in direct spending and nearly $3 million in taxes. Local businesses saw increases in revenue ranging from 10% to 700% compared to a typical day.

Similarly, the Clash at the Castle event in Cardiff brought over £21 million to the Welsh economy.

Given WrestleMania’s status as WWE’s largest event, it could potentially bring even greater economic benefits to London, attracting fans from across the globe and boosting local businesses.

    Challenges and Considerations

While the prospects are exciting, there are challenges to consider. WWE events are typically scheduled years in advance, and the earliest available date for a London WrestleMania might be as late as 2026.

Additionally, hosting such a large-scale event requires significant financial investment, which could be a point of contention given the current economic climate.

However, the potential economic returns and the boost to London’s global profile might justify the expenditure.

  • Trevor Lee Talks About Wanting to Wrestle for AEW

Trevor Lee Talks About Wanting to Wrestle for AEW

Trevor Lee (formerly Cameron Grimes) has expressed his interest in every promotion after being released from WWE in April. However, he has specifically mentioned AEW as his possible future destination.

During K&S WrestleFest virtual signing, Lee discussed his exit from WWE. The former NXT North American Champion stated that it was all about the timing. While he believes it was unfortunate, he knows that pro wrestling never ceases. He highlighted the fact that wrestling shows take place all around the year. The former Cameron Grimes made it clear that he will be back on TV shortly.

A handful of WWE wrestlers have jumped ship to AEW in the past. There has been speculation that Lee might follow suit. He recognized how AEW has made an impact on the wrestling world since its inception in 2019 and wouldn’t rule out signing with the promotion. He said:

“I have interest in absolutely every company. But, I do have interest in AEW. Why wouldn’t I? It’s doing what they’re supposed to do and it’s shocking the culture and it’s stirring up a firestorm that is the new era of wrestling so, of course.”

    What’s next for Trevor Lee?

Lee is scheduled to appear in Black Label Pro promotion for the first time. He will be making his debut for the Indiana-based promotion at BLP Old Habits Die Screaming at the Logan Square Auditorium in Chicago, Illinois on July 26. This will mark his first appearance for any promotion since his release from WWE.

Meanwhile, Elevation Pro Wrestling has also announced that Lee will appear at the promotion’s Homecoming event on July 27.

  • John Cena Stands By The Idea of London Hosting WrestleMania

John Cena Stands By The Idea of London Hosting WrestleMania

WWE legend John Cena has yet again endorsed the idea of WrestleMania taking place in London.

WWE CCO Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque and WWE President Nick Khan recently met London Mayor Sadiq Khan at London’s City Hall. This has increased the chances of WrestleMania possibly taking place in the UK in the future. Sadiq Khan, who won re-election earlier this year, confirmed the meeting. He shared his excitement that WrestleMania could be headed to London.

Now John Cena took to his X account and weighed-in on the matter. He has backed the idea of WrestleMania coming to London and believes the city deserves to host ‘The Shows of Shows.’ The 16-time World Champion is retiring in 2025 and he said won’t be able to compete when WrestleMania goes London. However, he assured that he will attend the show as a fan. He wrote:

The city of London, and all of the UK has supported WWE thru thick and thin. I try to minimize using the word “deserve” so I will use more appropriate terms.

I’ve said it before and stand by it. In my mind London has EARNED a chance to host WrestleMania. I won’t get to compete when it happens but I will BE THERE as a fan for sure!

After waiting for several years, the UK crowd could be getting what they want. They have been vocal about hosting WrestleMania for years and the interest peaked especially after WWE Money in the Bank 2023. The London crowd were surprised when John Cena made an appearance and floated the idea of WrestleMania coming to London.

The Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes has also endorsed WrestleMania in the UK. Mayor Khan previously said that the city is ready to host ‘The Show of Shows. This led to Triple H wanting to meet Khan. Hunter later said that everything was on the table for future host cities of WrestleMania.

Meanwhile, John Cena announced his farewell tour before hanging up his boots. He didn’t mention when and where he would compete in his final match. However, he made it clear that next year will be his last time competing in the WWE PLEs.

  • Raj Dhesi (f.k.a Jinder Mahal) Doesn’t Believe ‘WWE Dropped The Ball On Him’

Raj Dhesi (f.k.a Jinder Mahal) Doesn’t Believe ‘WWE Dropped The Ball On Him’

Raj Dhesi (formerly Jinder Mahal in WWE) doesn’t agree with the critics who believe that WWE missed an opportunity with the wrestler.

In a TikTok video clip, the former WWE Champion reacted to a fan who said WWE “dropped the ball” on him. He explained that during his 12-year career with WWE, he was able to make the most of the opportunities. He also got to travel the world, build valuable relationships, become financially independent, and have multiple in-ring achievements.

During his time in the company, he held the WWE Championship once and won the United States Championship at WrestleMania. ‘The Modern Day Maharaja’ said that he had a great time in WWE and thanked his fans for their support. Now, he is eyeing to make a mark on the indie circuit. He said:

“So I see this comment a lot and I wanna kinda share my opinion on it. ‘WWE dropped the ball on me’ – I would say that’s not true.

“Had a very long career, 12 years in WWE. WWE Champion, won the United States Championship at WrestleMania, made a great living, really set myself up for the future, for the rest of my life. Given me a sense of financial independence where now I can just do whatever I wanna do. Freedom, flexibility, got to travel the world, build amazing relationships, a lot of good memories. And it’s gonna continue now on the independents, just doing things my way.

So WWE did not drop the ball, I had a great career, a great time, and, yeah, thank you for all the fans tuning in for all these years.”

Dhesi was released from WWE back in April and he candidly spoke about his release. The former United States Champion was one of seven former WWE wrestlers who became free agents recently. After his non-compete clause expired, Dhesi immediately made an impact on the indie scene by making a surprise appearance in GCW.

    What’s next for Raj Dhesi?

Dhesi will make his in-ring debut for GCW next month. The promotion announced that Dhesi will face Effy in a singles match on August 2 at GCW Now and Forever event in Cleveland, Ohio. “The Maharaja” has also revealed the tour dates for his ‘Unhindered Tour.’ He is scheduled to make a handful of appearances in several locations across North America. Check out the schedule below.

  • Drew McIntyre Deletes Photo With AEW’s Jack Perry

Drew McIntyre Deletes Photo With AEW’s Jack Perry

Drew McIntyre’s heel work has no boundaries when it comes to furthering his feud with CM Punk. The Scottish Warrior continued to wage mental war against his upcoming opponent for SummerSlam, bringing the actual Jack Perry into the mix.

Both AEW and WWE have a presence at the San Diego Comic Con this year and WWE’s side actually includes both McInytre and CM Punk. Drew sure had some cruel intentions in mind as he happened to cross paths with Perry who is just fresh off of nearly getting lit aflame at Blood & Guts the day before.

McIntyre made sure he didn’t miss getting a Kodak moment with Perry. To add further salt to the wound, Drew dipped into the words Perry had for Punk during ALL IN 2023 in his match against HOOK.

RELATED: CM Punk Vs. Drew McIntyre is the Only Choice to Haedline WWE Bad Blood – Inside Hell In A Cell

“It’s a real photo, cry us a river,” McIntyre wrote as he shared the photo. However, McIntyre either reconsidered his post or got word to take it down because he has removed it from his socials.

The history between Punk and Perry isn’t one of good nature as their is infamous footage behind the scenes where Punk scuffled with Perry after Jack decided to use real glass in his street fight battle with HOOK. AEW ALL IN 2023 ended up being Punk’s final appearance with the company as Tony Khan fired him the following weekend.

McIntyre will face CM Punk at SummerSlam but not without some added moderation as Seth Rollins will be the special guest referee.

  • CM Punk Reveals Vince McMahon’s Departure “Illuminated The Way” For His Return

CM Punk Reveals Vince McMahon’s Departure “Illuminated The Way” For His Return

CM Punk has revealed that former WWE Chairman Vince McMahon’s departure from the company paved the way for his return.

‘The Second City Savior’ spoke to Denise Salcedo at San Diego Comic Con and said that Vince McMahon being out of the picture was one of the factors for his comeback to the company after a decade.

“No, because it was never a thing that I was yearning to do. There were a lot of things that had to happen for the pathway to kind of clear. The stars had to align. There had to be a full moon. A lot of dominoes fell in order for us to get here. There was a never a, ‘Man, I’d really like to go back.’

    He added:

“Vince (McMahon) being out of the picture probably illuminated the way. That might have been one of the biggest things. That’s both ways, for everybody who is going to sensationalize a headline. It wasn’t me, it wasn’t him, there’s just a lot of history there. All of a sudden, one of us is removed from the equation, and I think it changed a lot of things.”

Vince McMahon had stepped down from his roles in June 2022 after it came to light that he was involved in a hush-money scandal with former WWE employees. He returned the following year as executive chairman of the TKO Group Holdings. However, he left WWE yet again earlier this year due to Janel Grant’s lawsuit which alleged abuse and trafficking.

Meanwhile, CM Punk returned to WWE last year at WWE Survivor Series and shocked the pro wrestling fraternity. During the interview, Punk also stated that he knew his surprise return would be a big deal. The former WWE Champion competed in his first WWE match in almost ten years at the 2024 Royal Rumble. Unfortunately, he suffered torn tricep during the match and has been on the shelf ever since.

The former WWE Champion is set to make his comeback at next month’s SummerSlam where he will face his arch-rival Drew McIntyre. It was also recently announced that Seth Rollins will serve as the Special Guest Referee.

  • ‘Call Of Duty’ Cody Rhodes Appeases Arn Anderson

‘Call Of Duty’ Cody Rhodes Appeases Arn Anderson

Arn Anderson is far from a video game player, but what ‘The Enforcer’ saw from Cody Rhodes and Call Of Duty, he liked.

WWE has collaborated with the ever-popular first-person shooting game, Call Of Duty for season five of their latest game, Modern Warfare 3 and WarZone. The collaboration included “finishing moves” and an array of character skins to use for the game including Rey Mysterio, Rhea Ripley and ‘The American Nightmare’ Cody Rhodes.

An in-game action screenshot was taken of Cody Rhodes holding an assault rifle and it conjured up memories for Arn Anderson. Rhodes’ former “coach,” ever loaded with a zinger, had a good one for the current WWE Undisputed Champion.

“I guess Cody finally took my advice.”

Rhodes reacted to the image as well by posting a laughing emoji on X.

RELATED: Ex-Employee: AEW Hasn’t Had a Face of The Company Since Cody Rhodes

All this stems back to the notorious “glock” promo Arn cut on Cody back in September of 2021, giving Rhodes a reality check during his feud with Malakai Black. Anderson said Rhodes was the type of guy who would let someone hijack his car, while “The Enforcer” would pull out his glock and defend his wheels. You can catch the promo below.

  • Raquel Rodriguez Could Return To Active Roster Soon

Raquel Rodriguez Could Return To Active Roster Soon

Raquel Rodriguez could be back in action shortly.

Earlier this year, Rodriguez was removed from WWE’s internal roster due to health concerns. Now, reports state that the former NXT Women’s Champion, who has been absent for months could return soon. PWInsider has reported that there have been some talks of Raquel Rodriguez returning to the ring in the near future.

The Texas native has been away from in-ring action since the February 26 edition of Raw where she defeated Chelsea Green. Raquel Rodriguez is a former 3-time Women’s Tag Team Champion. She has won the titles twice with Liv Morgan and once with former WWE wrestler Aliyah. Rodriguez had also won the NXT Women’s title during her run on the developmental brand.

    Raquel Rodriguez having health issues

Rodriguez had revealed that he was diagnosed with Mast Cell Activation Syndrome. In January, the 33-year-old star opened up on the Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS), having allergic reactions like hives, swelling, and respiratory difficulties. This led to her taking time off.

Rodriguez had competed in the 2024 Women’s WWE Elimination Chamber. She had revealed that her Mast Cell Activation Syndrome was flaring up before the event but she still managed to compete alongside Becky Lynch, Bianca Belair, Liv Morgan, Tiffany Stratton, Naomi. The match was ultimately won by ‘The Man.’

MVP Reflects On Latest WWE Run Amid Rumored Roster Removal

MVP has appreciated the “ride” he’s been on since returning to WWE, even though many believe it could come to an end very soon. On Instagram, MVP shared a photo of the night he returned to WWE as part of the 2020 Men’s Royal Rumble match.

In the caption, the Hurt Business alum spoke of being brought back as a producer, which didn’t work out as the COVID-19 pandemic and lack of live events left WWE not needing him in the role. MVP also addressed his time as a commentator, an in-ring talent, and working with ‘Roberto’ Bobby Lashley in WWE.

    MVP’s WWE Status

MVP’s reflections on his time in WWE since his 2020 return come amid reports that he and Bobby Lashley could soon be out of the company. It’s been reported that both men (alongside Tamina Snuka) have been removed from the promotion’s internal roster, signifying that there are no plans for them on TV. Lashley hasn’t competed on WWE TV since April of this year and MVP, the manager of Omos, has similarly vanished from shows.

Following reports that he had been removed from WWE’s internal roster, MVP shared a salute emoji online. Another report has claimed that MVP and Lashley are both considered to be ‘gone’ by those in WWE as both men’s contracts are said to expire soon. While an offer was reportedly made to Lashley, it’s said that this deal was one the All Mighty would be in no hurry to sign.

MVP has certainly done plenty since returning to WWE though a title reign has continued to allude the manager/commentator/Superstar/producer. Keep tuned to SE Scoops for all the latest on this ongoing situation.

  • Boxing Icon’s Son Reported To Participate At WWE SummerSlam Tryout

Boxing Icon’s Son Reported To Participate At WWE SummerSlam Tryout

The son of a true legend in the world of professional boxing will be part of the upcoming WWE tryouts that will take place over SummerSlam weekend. Elijah Holyfield, the son of Evander Holyfield, will be a part of the tryouts, PW Insider reports. The tryouts will take place on Friday, August 2, and for the first time ever, fans will be able to watch the tryouts and perhaps get their first glimpse at a future WWE Champion.

Despite being the son of one of the biggest names in boxing, Elijah Holyfield has focused is athletic career on football. The 26-year-old played college football in Georgia and has been signed by the Philadelphia Eagles and Cincinnati Bengals as a running back. Holyfield stands at 5-foot-10 and weighs 215lb.

On Twitter this week, the younger Holyfield gave a taste of his athletic prowess.

Should Elijah make it through the tryouts and sign a WWE contract, he wouldn’t be the first member of his family to compete in a wrestling ring. During an August 2007 edition of Saturday Night’s Main Event, Evander Holyfield, subbing for the ‘injured’ MVP, boxed Matt Hardy. After Holyfield refused to do more damage to Hardy who was seemingly unable to fight back, MVP got in the face of the boxer and earned a right hand for his troubles.

WWE has held tryouts around several events in recent years with names like Nikkita Lyons, Tatum Paxley, Edris Enofe, Javier Bernal, and Monday Night Raw’s Maxxine Dupri all joining after a SummerSlam tryout. These tryouts have demonstrated that there is no one way to make it into WWE and an athletic background outside of the ring can often be as valuable as someone spending years on the independents.

    WWE SummerSlam 2024

SummerSlam 2024 will take place on August 3, one day after the Priority Pass tryouts, from the Cleveland Browns Stadium in Cleveland, Ohio. The show will be the second SummerSlam from Cleveland and currently has seven matches announced. In addition to in-ring action, SummerSlam weekend will see Damian Priest: Live, which will include the premiere of his WWE: 24 episode and a live panel from El Campeon.

  • CM Punk Reportedly Looking To Restructure WWE Deal

CM Punk Reportedly Looking To Restructure WWE Deal

CM Punk is enjoying his current WWE run so much that’s already thinking beyond the length of his current 3-year deal. According to respected wrestling journalist and podcaster Ibou of WrestlePurists, Punk is looking to restructure and extend his deal.

“I can tell you right now that he is in the process of trying to get his deal restructured from a money and years standpoint. Punk’s legitimate stance right now is if all goes well I will never leave. That’s his legitimate standpoint. He wants to be here ‘forever,’ is the actual word he used.”

Ibou, WrestlePurists, 7/22 WWE Raw Youtube Review

    What does CM Punk Want?

Punk is gearing up to return from injury and wrestle his first match since Jauary next weekend at WWE SummerSlam. According to sources close to Punk, he’s interested in spending the latter years of his pro wrestling career giving back to the next generations.

” Basically, he wants this to work out, he wants to get paid, and then he wants, when it’s time to slow it down, to slow it down and just run NXT.”

Ibou, WrestlePurists, 7/22 WWE Raw Youtube Review

Despite his injury at WWE Royal Rumble, Punk has been a bonafide team player while healing from a torn triceps. He’s still managed to appear on WWE television, but has also found some solace in helping out down in NXT. Additionally he’s found some pre-show chemistry with Big E during big WWE kick-off shows.

However, Punk’s absence from the ring is soon to come to an end as just this past Monday on WWE Raw, Punk revealed that he’s medically cleared to wrestle and will face Drew McInytre at SummerSlam with Seth Rollins as the special guest referee.

Punk is not on the best of terms with Rollins after he cost Seth his WWE World Title chances against Damian Priest at Money In The Bank. That story will continue on as Rollins will lay out the ground rules next week to both Punk and McIntyre, who aren’t allowed to lay a hand on one another until SummerSlam.

Titus O’Neil Rescues 2 Abandoned Pit Bulls While Donating School Supplies

WWE’s Titus O’Neil is giving two pit bulls a second chance after they were abandoned near a middle school in Tampa, Florida. O’Neil and volunteers were at Sligh Middle School donating various school supplies when they found the two dogs, a statement from the Humane Society of Tampa Bay shared. O’Neil contacted the HSTB, a group he is a longtime supporter of and they agreed to take the dogs and help them find homes.

The two pit bulls, now named Biggie and Betha, are believed to have been part of a dog fighting ring, Sherry Silk, executive director of HSTB, told FOX 13 News. That’s because their ears have been clipped, a common experience for fighting dogs as it prevents other dogs from latching onto them.

Silk added that Bertha appears to have had puppies, which she believes may have been why she and Biggie were dumped. This is unfortunately a common occurrence that Silk called “awful.” Biggie and Betha have also been dealing with ear infections but have since found a space of their own inside the shelter.

Biggie and Bertha have been through an awful experience but thanks to Titus, the HSTB and other volunteers, they will hopefully have a new forever home very soon. Once again, the WWE Hall of Fame Warrior Award recipient has shown his immense kindness, as he continues to be an ambassador for WWE and a role model to all.

Ronda Rousey ‘Encouraged’ By Progress Of Women In Combat Sports

Ronda Rousey believes women’s wrestling in WWE is taking steps forward again now that Vince McMahon is no longer in charge of bookings.

The former WWE star recently had an interview with TV Insider to promote her new graphic novel ‘Expecting the Unexpected.’ The Kickstarter campaign for the novel is set to be launched on July 25.

Rousey, who is considered a trailblazer for women’s combat sports across the board was asked for her thoughts the current state of female performers in WWE, UFC and beyond. The former Raw Women’s Champion mentioned how women are being taken more seriously now:

“I think women in combat sports everywhere are succeeding more than ever before because people are taking them seriously. I think that being able to prove that women can fight and be exciting and dynamic. There has been this ripple effect on boxing, UFC, pro wrestling, and even Olympic wrestling.”

We Are Taking Steps Forward Again: Ronda Rousey

Speaking specifically about the world of pro wrestling and WWE, Ronda Rousey explained that things have gotten better since Vince McMahon was forced out of WWE:

“There was a point after we had the main event of WrestleMania that I feel like WWE took several steps back, but now that Vince McMahon is gone and Triple H is at the helm, I feel we are taking steps forward again. I’m extremely encouraged by what is happening across the entire industry.”

Vince McMahon had to resign from his post on the TKO board in January this year after former WWE employee Janel Grant filed a lawsuit accusing him of sex trafficking among other things.

The Department of Justice has since launched their own investigation of the matter. On May 30, it was revealed that Grant had agreed to stay her case for 6 months at their request.

Ronda Rousey also recently talked about the potential of a UFC return somewhere down the line. You can check out what she said here.

  • Roxanne Perez Hopeful CM Punk Will Help Make Match With AJ Lee Happen

Roxanne Perez Hopeful CM Punk Will Help Make Match With AJ Lee Happen

Fans of AJ Lee could see her back in the ring in the future, if Roxanne Perez and Lee’s husband CM Punk have anything to say about it. It’s been over nine years since the former WWE Divas Champion competed in WWE, with her final match being on the post-WrestleMania 31 RAW in 2015.

With the return of CM Punk last November, fans of Lee have been hopeful she too will make a comeback to the squared circle. Speaking to Pro Wrestling Illustrated, Perez shared that both she and Punk are pulling for a return to happen (h/t POST Wrestling.)

“I try (to talk to CM Punk about convincing A.J. Lee to return) but he tells me that he’s doing the same thing. He’s trying to get her to come back, he’s pulling her in but, I hope one day she decides to come back and have a match with me.”

Perez said in April of this year that she can’t retire from wrestling until she’s had her dream match with AJ. At just 22 years old, the two-time and reigning NXT Women’s Champion has plenty of time left in the ring for the dream match to happen.

In April, a rumor went around that WWE was actively working on recruiting AJ but that she wanted a memorable return rather than a one-off appearance. We later confirmed that this rumor was not true, and while she is well-liked and respected in WWE, her return was not a topic of discussion. At the WWE Money in the Bank post-show event, CM Punk also downplayed the idea of his wife’s return, saying he didn’t want to give fans false hope and is proud of AJ for “doing her own thing.”

If AJ Lee returns to WWE, there’ll be no shortage of delighted fans. Stay tuned to SE Scoops for all the latest from the world of WWE and beyond.

Dominik Mysterio’s Brutal Rejection of Liv Morgan On WWE RAW Translated

‘Dirty’ Dominik Mysterio didn’t hold back in his comments about Liv Morgan in both England and Spanish during the latest episode of WWE RAW. After weeks of Morgan’s advances, Mysterio made clear this week that he doesn’t like the WWE Women’s World Champion, leaving Morgan in tears after RAW went off the air.

Dominik switched between English and Spanish during his comments to Liv and thanks to Oscar The WWE Nexus Shirt Guy, we know exactly what he said.

“I hate you Liv! Are you stupid? Are you deaf? Do you not understand what I’m telling you b***h? I don’t like you! You’ve ruined my life, over and over again. I can’t understand what goes on in your head! Are you a dumbass or what? I can’t stand you! You’ve ruined everything for me, and now– I hate you with all of my life!”

With all seemingly forgiven between Rhea and Dominik, Mami can now focus on WWE SummerSlam 2024 where she will challenge Liv Morgan for the WWE Women’s World Championship. It remains to be seen what headspace the champ will be in come August 3 after this brutal bi-lingual rejection by ‘Daddy Dominik’ on RAW.

  • Ronda Rousey Comments On Potential Return To UFC: “If I Could, I Definitely Would”

Ronda Rousey Comments On Potential Return To UFC: “If I Could, I Definitely Would”

Former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey recently shared her thoughts on possibly stepping foot inside the UFC cage. Speaking with Justin Barrasso for Sports Illustrated, Rousey was asked if she ever plans on returning to fight. She said:

“I appreciate when people ask. Maybe it means they still miss me.”

After a successful MMA career, Ronda Rousey decided to retire in 2016. She had suffered consecutive knockout losses to both Holly Holm and Amanda Nunes in title fights. Holly Holm handed her first career loss at UFC 193. Meanwhile, Amanda Nunes defeated her in December 2016. Recently, Rousey has been candid about suffering from concussions during her UFC run. Would Ronda Rousey fight for the UFC again?

“If I could, I definitely would. If I want to have a whole basketball team full of kids, I can’t take any more detours. I’ve always wanted to be a mom with a lot of kids.”

    – Ronda Rousey to Sports Illustrated

‘Rowdy’ then shifted her career to WWE a year later where her first run was remarkable. She won the Raw Women’s Title and headlined WrestleMania 35 with Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair. However, her second run was lackluster which ended last year. She departed the company after SummerSlam where she was defeated by Shayna Baszler in an MMA Rules match.

While she’s enjoying motherhood, she has found a new passion in writing. Ronda Rousey has recently sold her first screenplay to Netflix. The UFC Hall of Famer is also set to make her graphic novel debut with Expecting The Unexpected which launches on July 25.

Ronda Rousey has teamed up with comics publisher AWA and Mike Deodato, Jr., a reputed comic book artist. They have created spectacular fight scenes and the story revolves around a deadly hitwoman, who is pregnant. She has a bounty on her head and has to fight off the assassins.

  • U.S. Olympic Committee Suing Logan Paul’s PRIME Over Trademarks

U.S. Olympic Committee Suing Logan Paul’s PRIME Over Trademarks

PRIME, the beverage brand co-owned by WWE U.S. Champion Logan Paul, is facing legal action by the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Committee. The suit, which has been seen by CBS News, claims that PRIME is using trademarked phrases and symbols on a special edition of its drink featuring three-time Olympic gold medallist Kevin Durant. The beverage in question uses the terms ‘Olympic’ ‘Olympian,’ and ‘Team USA’, and also refers to ‘going for gold’ on its label.

The Olympic Committee, which also represents the Paralympic Games, claims in the suit that PRIME has acted “in bad faith.” The committee adds that it has sent a cease-and-desist to PRIME but the Durant-inspired product continues to be sold.

The suit states that consumers could be misled to believe there is an agreement between the Olympic and Paralympic Committee and PRIME. This year’s games will kick off this Friday in Paris, France.

    Criticisms of PRIME

Earlier this month, U.S. Senator Chuck Schumer called for an investigation into PRIME due to the high caffeine content of its energy drink. PRIME responded by stating that it companies with all requirements in the countries it operates in. As data from caffeineinformer.com shows, PRIME Energy has 56.3mg of caffeine per 100ml, more than Red Bull (32mg per 100ml) or Monster (33.8mg per 100ml).

Last year, a lawsuit was filed stating that PRIME’s grape-flavored drink contained per- and polyfluoroalkyl (PFAS) substances. In April 2024, Paul disclosed that PFAS were not listed ingredients but were detected in the product.

PRIME currently serves as the official sponsor of WWE PLEs and is the promotion’s first sponsor to receive branding on the ring mat. A ‘Hydration Station,’ complete with PRIME bottle can be found ringside at RAW and SmackDown events. In January 2023, UFC announced a partnership with PRIME that saw corroboration at UFC events.

  • Donovan Dijak On WWE Exit, Retribution & ‘Burned Bridges’

Donovan Dijak On WWE Exit, Retribution & ‘Burned Bridges’

Former WWE Superstar Donovan Dijak recently sat down with Chris Van Vliet to reflect on his journey in wrestling and his abrupt release from WWE earlier this year. Dijak was with the promotion for seven years and had runs in NXT and on the main roster. Dijak never held gold in WWE but has already won a championship now he’s back on the indies.

    On Leaving WWE

When sharing that he’d be exiting WWE in a letter, Dijak claimed that the promotion had “stonewalled” attempts to negotiate a new deal. Now out of the company, Dijak is looking forward to what’s to come.

“[I’m feeling] Excited. Yeah, it took a little bit of time to get over the initial waves of emotions, mostly disappointment, frustration and fear. But now I’m in a really good spot because I’ve had a good solid week of let’s call it return on investment.”

On If He’s Burned Bridges With WWE

With his letter, Dijak made his views on WWE ‘stonewalling’ his attempts to sign a new deal crystal clear. When asked if his very public display may have hurt his chances at a return, Dijak argued that nothing he wrote was dishonest.

“If that letter burned a bridge with WWE, then they need to take a long hard look at themselves because everything in that letter is true and it’s what they did. So if me telling the truth about their actions, burns a bridge, then maybe they should consider changing their actions because that doesn’t reflect well on them. All I did was say what you did to me.”

Dijak pointed out that he didn’t scorn or badmouth anyone in WWE or throw out wild allegations against the company. Instead, he simply said “these are the facts” of what happened to him in the company.

    On Being At Forbidden Door

Mere days after his WWE exit, Dijak teased appearing at AEWxNJPW: Forbidden Door and whilst he wasn’t shown on-screen, he was backstage at the event.

Dijak: “I did not talk to Tony [Khan]… some phone calls were made, we saw where we could go and Steve [from Paragon] has enough connections at AEW where it was, I don’t know who’s in charge of green lighting who goes backstage, but in some capacity, I was approved to be backstage.

Dijak added that he was welcomed with “open arms” at Forbidden Door and he had great conversations with old friend. Dijak name-dropped reigning AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland as one of the individuals he spoke to.

    On Retribution

During his WWE run, Dijak worked as Retribution T-Bar though the group struggled to make an impact on the main roster. According to the ex-Superstar, the idea for the group was agreed upon long before the wrestlers were picked.

“Retribution existed before the members of it were selected in any capacity. The original group of Retribution that you saw on Monday Night Raw was a bunch of writers and extras all wearing those head-to-toe blacks and throwing Molotov cocktails at a generator.

Dijak filmed a brief vignette in his basement and presented it to Vince McMahon who after watching spoke about the importance of professionalism to the Superstar.

“I made the pitch about Retribution. He was like ‘You need to have more respect you know for these board members, these CEOs’… it’s just a very confusing message and I’m like yes sir. Sounds good. Yeah, I’ll be more professional next time.

On If FOX Had An Issue With Retribution

Following his own release from WWE, fellow Retribution member Mace said Retribution was scrapped as many saw it as too similar to Antifa. On the podcast, Dijak addressed the rumor that FOX, the broadcaster of SmackDown, had an issue with the group.

“I never heard that in an official capacity. I never saw a report that said that. But yes, that is the rumor I heard that Fox did not like Retribution, which for the record they had every right.”
