Intergender Matches Teased for WWE 2K25

WWE Games continues to drop clues about new features being added to WWE 2K25 ahead of the next big news drop on January 28.

On Monday, they released a hype video for the game that strongly implies intergender matches are returning to WWE’s annual video game for the first time in 16 years. The caption contains male and female emoji symbols, the first hint.

Rhea Ripley, who will certainly be one of the highest rated playable characters on the WWE 2K25 roster, gets cut off while saying,

“WWE 2K25 fans, Mami is here with a little message to, you know, kick things off for WWE 2K25. I mean, some people think that inter…”

Dominik Mysterio takes over and says the ‘juicy secret’ (presumably Intergender matches in WWE) is between him and Liv Morgan.

Intergender Matches in WWE Games

While some recent WWE games like WWE 2K24 have allowed players to play intergender matches through unofficial methods like mods, WWE SmackDown vs Raw 2009 was the last WWE video game to officially sanction men wrestling women. Wrestling video game fans who have bemoaned its removal can blame WWE’s “PG Era.” After WWE television adopted a PG rating in 2008, the company moved away from featuring male versus female matches in both their programming and video games.
