Rey Mysterio is apparently done working with Mexico’s AAA promotion due to reported late payments and overall company disfunction. Alberto Del Rio left AAA abruptly while holding their top championship when he returned to WWE. Several luchadors are frustrated with the financial situation and have had talks about joining rival promotions.
Mysterio is already moving on and is booked to wrestle Kurt Angle at an iPPV based out of Arizona next month.
There is also some interest from WWE. After leaving the company following a slew of injuries, Mysterio is open to returning – but only with a reduced schedule that does not require being on the road for months on end.
It’s worth noting that “Dr. Lucha” Steve Sims discussed Mysterio situation on Friday’s Wrestling Observer Live show and suspects Mysterio will be back in WWE by SummerSlam.
