Five weeks into AEW Dynamite’s run on TNT, Cody Rhodes grades the show an A.
Ahead of Saturday night’s AEW Full Gear pay-per-view, Cody spoke with Peter Rosenberg on the Cheap Heat podcast for ESPN Radio.
When asked what ‘grade’ he would give the show so far, Cody wasn’t shy about how happy he is with the product. Cody told Rosenberg, “I would give it an A. I’d say four of the five shows, I would give an A+.”
Cody elaborated that it’s all about executing a long-term vision – an AEW is right on course with their plans. Cody reveals that AEW is taking a more-traditional approach to their booking. They’ve planned out several months of television, they know the destination they’re aiming for and their week-to-week writing is all about staying on that path.
“I only say that because the execution is the main thing, we have to execute and we have this long form plan,” he said, “and we had been planning this for quite some time, and it’s a lot more traditional booking vs. writing, and with traditional booking, you’re going backwards from these major events.
Cody aded that his role as one of the top people behind the scenes has prevented him from being a ‘regular’ fan of AEW. He feels honored to be in his position and is working tirelessly to validate the responsibilities he’s been given.
