UFC Heavyweight Champion Daniel Cormier is still talking about Brock Lesnar.
This is despite the fact that a fight between the two stars has a small chance of happening despite interest from “DC,” UFC President Dana White, and fans.
Cormier took part in an interview with “The Schmo” during the UFC 241 Media Day earlier this week where he was asked about Lesnar’s decision to essentially turn down the fight against him.
“He didn’t want the smoke. Brock decided to stay in the WWE and I think it’s smart, right?” Cormier continued, “You either go and perform or you come and fight me. It just makes more sense to stay in the WWE.”
Daniel Cormier Jokes With Triple H About Fighting Brock Lesnar In WWE
Back in May, it was revealed that Lesnar had decided to retire from the sport of MMA. This nixed plans as the UFC had been trying to get a fight done between Lesnar and Cormier for an event in August.
Instead, the UFC had to get a new opponent for Cormier and did just that.
Cormier will make his next title defense against former champ Stipe Miocic in the headliner of the UFC 241 pay-per-view event at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California.
