Ex-AEW Producer BJ Whitmer Receives Sentence for Domestic Violence Charges

Former AEW producer BJ Whitmer was facing second-degree burglary and first-degree strangulation charges, but that is in the past for him now. After accepting a plea deal, he has now received his sentence.

BJ Whitmer has been sentenced in relation to his arrest last year. He has received house arrest for 120 days, and five years of probation.

The BJ Whitmer Incident

Whitmer faced charges of second-degree burglary and first-degree strangulation stemming from an incident on June 4, 2023. Allegedly, he entered his former girlfriend’s residence, awaited her return, and then assaulted her.

According to the police report, Whitmer grabbed the victim by the throat and threw her onto the couch, where he proceeded to strangle her. The victim later described the ordeal to the media as a fight for her life.

Opting for an Alford plea, Whitmer acknowledged there was sufficient evidence for a conviction but maintained his innocence. This plea also allows him to clear the felony from his record after five years. He has been sentenced to five years of probation and 120 days of house arrest.
