AEW Dynamite took an emotional turn this week, as MJF evoked Owen Hart during his in-ring segment with Jeff Jarrett. During a tense promo, MJF suggested that Jarrett was leveraging his friendship with the late Owen Hart to maintain relevance on screen.
“What really makes me mad is that just because you were best friends with Owen Hart, you think you’re owed a grand finale.”
Jarrett had remained calm against MJF’s earlier barbs but this comment rattled the WWE Hall of Famer. However, this time, Jarrett snapped, landing a decisive right hand on MJF. Security and Jarrett’s crew rushed to separate the two, with MJF narrowly escaping the ring and nearly coming face-to-face with Karen Jarrett.
Jarrett had some choice words of his own for MJF in their promo, including labelling the former AEW World Champion a leech and stating that “I was MJF before you were MJF.” Jarrett recently shared that he is on his final contract as an in-ring talent, and plans to capture the AEW World Championship before he retires from competition.
Owen Hart’s tragic passing at WWF Over the Edge 1999 remains one of wrestling’s darkest moments, over 25 years after his fall. Nevertheless, the legacy of the Rocket carries on, with AEW hosting its annual Owen Hart Foundation Tournament. Stay tuned to SEScoops for the latest on Jeff Jarrett and his bitter feud with MJF.
