Erick Rowan Appears On Dynamite To Pay Tribute To Brodie Lee

Former WWE star Erick Rowan made an appearance on this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite which was a tribute show for his former partner Brodie Lee.

This week’s episode of the show featured multiple tag matches involving the members of The Dark Order. One such match was MJF, Ortiz & Santana facing the team of Alex Reynolds, John Silver & Adam Page.

Towards the ending of this bout, Wardlow came out and he interrupted the match by taking out Reynolds. Erick Rowan then made his AEW debut to stop the giant.

The former WWE star who now goes by the name Erick RedBeard dropped Wardlow with a chokeslam and then ran him off to backstage.

The match ended with John Silver delivering Brodie’s discuss forearm to Ortiz and pinning the Inner Circle member to pick up the victory for his team.

Erick joined the Dark Order in the ring post-match and Silver got emotional as the former Wyatt Family member held up a sign reading “Goodbye for now my brother. See you down the road.”

There is no word yet on if this was a one-time appearance or if Erick Rowan has signed a contract with AEW. We will have to see if he makes any more appearances for the company in coming weeks.

AEW Signs Brodie Lee’s Son To Contract

Jon Huber’s son, Brodie (-1), has been signed to an official AEW contract. Since Brodie (-1) is only 8-years-old, the contract will not begin until he is old enough to start wrestling. This was revealed recently on Tony Schiavone’s “What Happened When” podcast.

“Knowing Brodie was very sick and it was the holidays and knowing it was going to be very difficult for him to ‘kick out,’ [AEW] brought little Brodie to TV and wrestling is his life,” Schiavone said. “They made him a member of the Dark Order, they put a mask on him, he came out with a kendo stick and beat up a lot of people.”

“They signed him to a contract, legitimately signed him to a contract,” Schiavone continued. “When he gets of age, he’ll be with AEW. They have taken care of him.”

As for why Brodie Huber is named Brodie (-1), the idea is that he’s too young to officially join the Dark Order and his father was “The Exalted One”. So -1 is sort of his Dark Order number, similar to how other members of the stable are numbered.

Schiavone continued to talk about Brodie (-1) and how he is a member of the AEW family.

“He follows guys around in the back and becomes part of us. He gets involved with the guys, sits in Gorilla position, comes out with the mask and does some crazy things. The roster loved Brodie and we are family.”

Tonight’s episode of AEW Dynamite will be a special tribute to Brodie Lee.

Tony Schiavone Opens Up About Brodie Lee’s Condition Before His Passing

AEW commentator Tony Schiavone talked about the untimely death of Brodie Lee on the latest episode of What Happened When podcast and opened up about the events before his passing.

Reports have revealed that the original plans were to keep the former TNT champion off TV for only a few weeks after his Dog Collar match with Cody Rhodes on the October 7 episode of Dynamite.

Talking about how the sudden decline in Lee’s health forced them to change plans, Schiavone revealed that Brodie was hospitalised the day after they interviewed him on the AEW Unrestricted podcast:

“Unfortunately, the AEW Uncensored podcast that we do, the one we did with Brodie, we did it the day before he got sick.

Then we heard he had been airlifted to the Mayo Clinic and Amanda, his wife, came and met with the entire group and told us how bad a shape he was in and please don’t say anything to anybody.”

Discussing how everyone at AEW kept his condition secret, Tony Schiavone said that everyone at the company did a good job and he then revealed how they all found out about Brodie Lee’s passing:

“I think everybody did a great job keeping it close to the vest as the old cliche goes. We all knew it didn’t look good but we were all hoping he would kick out.

The day that he passed away, we received an email that we were going to have a company wide zoom call in 30 minutes and I knew that if we were going to have a zoom call that quickly, something was bad.”

Tony Schiavone also opened up about the segment they filmed with Brodie Lee’s son at last week’s Dynamite tapings where he beat Kenny Omega for the AEW world title.

The AEW star revealed that the company actually signed Brodie Lee Jr. to a contract and said that he will join the company when he gets old enough.

Jon Moxley On Vince McMahon’s Reaction To His WrestleMania 31 Spot With Brodie Lee

Former AEW Champion Jon Moxley recently had an interview with Sports Illustrated where he shared his memories of the late Brodie Lee.

Mox wrestled Lee many times in WWE when he was still known as Luke Harper and the two then locked horns again after the late star followed his friend’s footsteps and joined AEW.

Talking about the news of his demise, the former WWE champion claimed that it doesn’t feel real and it feels as if he is in a vivid dream:

“It doesn’t feel real,” said Moxley, on Sunday evening. “It feels like I’m in a very vivid dream and I’m waiting to snap out of it. My brain hasn’t accepted it yet. Right now, I’m completely f—— numb.”

Jon Moxley On His WrestleMania Spot With Brodie Lee

The former Dean Ambrose then talked about the many times he wrestled Brodie Lee and he especially recalled the one spot he did with the former TNT champion which even bugged Vince McMahon.

Jon recalled a spot from the WrestleMania 31 ladder match for the Intercontinental Championship and revealed how the boss reacted to it:

“We wanted to make the highlight reel, we figured the only way we could do that was if I nearly killed myself with a death-defying bump. So we devised this spot where he powerbombs me from the ring to the floor through a steel ladder, and that’s f—— sketchy.

It’s an extremely dangerous bump, going backward at a high angle. It was a gnarly bump. Vince [McMahon] bugged out. He thought I was dead, which meant it was a good f—— bump. “

The former WWE star continued by saying that he would have not trusted anybody else with the bump and he maintains the sentiment even to this day.

Apart from this, Jon Moxley also discussed how Brodie Lee was a family man who was very proud of being a husband and father. You can check out his full interview at this link.

Brodie Lee’s Wife Shares Final Text Conversation With AEW Star Before His Passing

Amanda Huber, the wife of the late pro wrestler Jon Huber aka Brodie Lee has shared her final text conversation with her husband before he passed away.

She made an emotional post on Instagram in which, Amanda shared pictures she “forgot existed” and explained how they reminded her of the life she had built with her husband.

Addressing the text conversation that took place in late October before Brodie Lee’s condition declined, Huber mentioned how she got angry looking at their text exchange because they had “so much planned.”

She also informed her late husband of the plans president Tony Khan has put together for the upcoming episode of AEW Dynamite to honour his memory.

Amanda thanked the fans for their kind words and stories that have been shared over the last few days as well. You can check out her post featuring the text conversation in the second slide below:

Former WWE and AEW star Brodie Lee passed away due to a lung ailment last week on December 26. Not many people were aware of his condition and so the news of his passing came as a shock for the wrestling world.

Various wrestling personalities and fans from around the world have come together to pay tribute to the late star since the news of his passing come out.

Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite Will Pay Tribute To Brodie Lee

This night is intended to honor Jon, but also this is for Amanda, and their sons Brodie (-1) & Nolan.”

The following is the AEW Dynamite holiday schedule:

  • December 23rd: AEW Holiday Bash
  • December 30th: AEW New Year’s Smash (Night 1)
  • January 6th: AEW New Year’s Smash (Night 2)

As usual, it’s a stacked lineup.

AEW Dynamite Holiday Bash Preview

Young Bucks vs. The Acclaimed

The Acclaimed has received a lot of attention since recently joining AEW. The duo has already built a 7-1 record and are already the number 5 ranked tag team in the company. Max Caster and Anthony Bowens made their AEW Dynamite debuts last week. The Young Bucks were scouting them at ringside. After picking up a win, the Acclaimed challenged Nick and Matt Jackson to a match at Holiday Bash.

The Acclaimed has looked impressive, but they will be up against their toughest challenge to date against AEW’s world tag team champions, the Young Bucks. A win would cement the Acclaimed as an AEW tag team to reckon with.

Chris Jericho & MJF vs. Top Flight

Chris Jericho and MJF appear to be back on the same page after Jericho recently presented the Inner Circle with an ultimatum. The Dinner Debonair co-stars will have to be quick on their feet at AEW Holiday Bash when they face Top Flight. Jericho and Friedman know every trick in the book to get an edge on their opponents, but they will have to stay on their toes vs. Top Flight.

PAC vs. The Butcher

PAC returns to action against one of Eddie Kingston’s henchmen, The Butcher.

Dustin Rhodes vs. Evil Uno

“The Natural” Dustin Rhodes did not take kindly to the Dark Order attempting to recruit him two weeks ago on Dynamite. The 51-year-old legend gets a chance at revenge against Evil Uno.

Jurassic Express vs. Dark Order

Jungle Boy, Luchasaurus and Marko Stunt will square off vs. Colt Cabana, 5 and 10 of the Dark Order.

We will also see:

  • AEW Women’s Champion Hikaru Shida will be in action.
  • Sting will be interviewed by Tony Schiavone
  • Kip Sabian and Penelope Ford will announce their wedding date.

As of this writing, AEW has not announced anything for AEW World Champion Kenny Omega, TNT Champion Darby Allin, Cody Rhodes or Team Taz.

Kenny Omega Says There’s Only 3 Stars On His Level in AEW

AEW Champion Kenny Omega and ‘The Invisible Hand’ Don Callis recently appeared on Chris Jericho’s Talk Is Jericho podcast. The duo discussed a number of topics during the podcast, including Omega’s recent match in AAA, Don Callis’ ‘megaplan’ and the NJPW match between Jericho/Omega that ‘changed the wrestling industry.’

Kenny Omega would also make a shot at the AEW roster during the show, saying that there’s not many stars in All Elite who are on his level.

Kenny Omega on the AEW Roster

“They’re (the fans) mad that one guy isn’t having a 45 minute match every episode” Kenny Omega would state on the podcast. “Of course I’m not. I don’t need 45 minutes for these guys! You’ve seen our roster, you know what I mean? Let’s just be honest, let’s called spade a spade.”

“There is a showmanship aspect to what we do” Omega continued. “But let’s be honest, you know? Who in this company, especially at this point in time, is really on my level? It’s a short list.”

Omega would then mention how Chris Jericho is on his list as well as two other members of the AEW roster. “We’ve got PAC, one of the greatest…I would say probably the greatest raw athlete on the roster, I can easily say that. I’m good at what I do because I mix the athletic with what I have upstairs. But PAC just has it so naturally in his body, in this genes.”

“Moxley is up there” Omega continued. “Jon Moxley is more cerebral as well, and he’s just tough as nails, way tougher than I am. I never said I was a tough guy! I can absorb a lot of punishment, but do I want to get hit in the face? No. Do I want to mess up this quaff? No. These curls take a lot of scrunching.”

Do you agree with Kenny Omega? Are there any stars on the AEW roster that you want to see him face going forward? Let us know in the comments

AEW Elevation Trademark Could Be For Second TV Show

All Elite Wrestling recently filed a new trademark for the name, AEW Elevation.

The United States Patent and Trademark Office database shows the application was submitted on December 16th. The filing includes the following usage description:

“International Class 041: Entertainment services in the nature of live wrestling performances; Entertainment services in the nature of production of wrestling programs and events; Services, namely, an ongoing multimedia program featuring wrestling distributed via various platforms across multiple forms of transmission media; Entertainment services, namely, an ongoing series featuring wrestling provided through a global computer network; Entertainment services, namely, production and distribution of ongoing television programs in the field of wrestling;”

Epo6Ht2XYAA6VJM?format=jpg&name=small

Elevation could be the name for second weekly television show the company is launching next year. The “wrestling programs and events” and “production of wrestling programs” aspect of the filed trademarks implies the name is for AEW’s second TV show.

AEW Elevation

AEW has a strong relationship with Turner Sports and Warner Media. Dynamite was a hit out of the gate. The early success with viewers landed Dynamite a multi-year contract extension, as well as additional programming.

AEW TNT
AEW on TNT

The AEW Dark Youtube series has also been a big success. It has allowed AEW fans to view new and upcoming talent. Dark used to feature a handful of matches, but the cards have ballooned to feature over a dozen matches each week. Dynamite and Dark do not allow for the entire roster to get sufficient ring time.

AEW executives have confirmed plans for additional live pro wrestling content on television in the months ahead. The extra programming will not be AEW Dark moving to television. Luckily for wrestling fans, it does not sound like we will have to wait long to get more information.

Tony Khan recently told TSN, “It’s going to launch in 2021. We’ve worked it out with TNT. It’s 100 percent going to launch in 2021. I don’t have the exact date yet, but I would look out for it soon and it’s right around the corner.”

Chris Jericho Talks Being ‘Worried’ About New Japan Return

AEW Champion Kenny Omega and ‘The Invisible Hand’ Don Callis recently appeared on Chris Jericho’s Talk Is Jericho podcast. The duo discussed a number of topics during the podcast, including Omega’s recent match in AAA, Don Callis’ ‘megaplan’ and the NJPW match between Jericho/Omega that ‘changed the wrestling industry.’

When discussing his Wrestle Kingdom 12 match against Kenny Omega; Chris Jericho would reveal that he was concerned about leaving the WWE bubble and heading to another promotion where he believes he may have not been ‘remembered.’

Chris Jericho on WWE versus New Japan

“There’s a certain atmosphere in WWE” Chris Jericho would begin. “It is what it is and I enjoyed it there for my time there. But this (New Japan) was a whole different level of…star positioning, shall we say. Positioning me in the main event of the Tokyo Dome with Kenny who is a proven huge star in New Japan.”

“Me? I’d not been there since 1997 when I was doing jobs for Kanemoto, whoever the hell it was…El Samurai?” Jericho would continue. “So for me to go there? People kind of knew who I was, but not really, unless you were a fan from 20 years prior. So I had to start from scratch. They might know the idea of what Chris Jericho is, maybe heard the name or seen some matches, when WWE came to Japan to do Sumo Arena? But this was a chance for me to prove myself on a completely different level.”

It’s almost baffling to believe that a veteran the stature of Jericho would think that the Japanese fans wouldn’t know who he is. Given that the former Y2J had been in almost every major promotion before 2018 and had won most of the biggest titles in the world? It’s fair to say that he would’ve always been welcomed by the Japanese fans with open arms.

Are you amazed that Chris Jericho was worried about this prior to re-joining New Japan? Let us know in the comments

Don Callis: “I Don’t Care About Ratings, I’m a Revolutionary”

AEW Champion Kenny Omega and ‘The Invisible Hand’ Don Callis recently appeared on Chris Jericho’s Talk Is Jericho podcast. The duo discussed a number of topics during the podcast, including Omega’s recent match in AAA, Don Callis’ ‘megaplan’ and the NJPW match between Jericho/Omega that ‘changed the wrestling industry.’

One of the most common comparisons Omega/Callis have had is that of Nick Bockwinkel and Bobby Heenan. Don Callis would start the interview by addressing that notion and saying that he and Omega are completely different beasts.

Don Callis on Comparisons To Greats

“I actually never said it, but people are saying that” the IMPACT Wrestling EVP would begin on the podcast. “I think it’s great. Nick Bockwinkel? He’s one of the greatest of all time. I think Bobby Heenan is a great wrestling manager. I am not a manager, I’m not a wrestling character, I’m making history Chris (Jericho), just like you.”

“I’m not out there performing, I’m not Bobby Heenan” Don Callis would continue. “I’m a revolutionary, I’m Winston Churchill. I don’t care what people say about me on the internet, I don’t care what the ratings are. Because guess what? When we get a rating? The next week, we forget about the week before and we’re on to the next thing.”

Don Callis would then reveal that his ambition goes far beyond the now in pro wrestling. “I don’t care what people say about me now. I care about what people say about Kenny Omega and Don Callis 50 years from now. When people are saying ‘we thought Eddie Graham, Bill Watts, Paul Heyman and Vince McMahon were smart?’ Don Callis and Kenny Omega are on a totally different level.”

‘The Invisible Hand’ would finish by again rubbishing the comparisons to Bockwinkel and Heenan. “That’s just the reality. So Nick Bockwinkel and Bobby Heenan? Great, great, wrestlers. Kenny Omega is not a wrestler, Kenny Omega is a God among insects. That’s how much better Kenny Omega is than everybody else.”

Do you agree with Don Callis? Do you think that he and Kenny Omega are carving out a path that will put them in the history books? Let us know in the comments

Kenny Omega: “I’ve Waited Long Enough Trying To Help Everyone Else Out”

AEW Champion Kenny Omega and ‘The Invisible Hand’ Don Callis recently appeared on Chris Jericho’s Talk Is Jericho podcast. The duo discussed a number of topics during the podcast, including Omega’s recent match in AAA, Don Callis’ ‘megaplan’ and the NJPW match between Jericho/Omega that ‘changed the wrestling industry.’

Jericho would begin the interview by asking Kenny Omega how he felt about finally getting the AEW Championship. Much had been made of the AEW EVPs (The Young Bucks and Omega in particular) not being ‘the same’ performers they were in Japan before creating All Elite. Omega would state that he was ready to be the ‘Best Bout Machine’ again.

Kenny Omega on Becoming AEW Champion

“I felt that it was time” Kenny Omega began on the podcast. “I felt that I’d waited long enough kind of trying to help everyone else out. It was time to help myself, and when I had sort of made that decision? I thought, who better to do it with than one of my family members, you know?”

Omega would then discuss how the pairing with him and Don Callis would align on AEW and IMPACT programming. “Even though he was involved with a different company had other business to attend to? He made himself available. I think you can really tell when you’re comfortable with someone in a ring, comfortable with someone in a professional environment. Don and I working together? It just goes hand in hand.”

“I think that’s why people enjoy it (Kenny Omega and Callis)” Kenny Omega would continue. “Because they see that, they see the chemistry there. They also see one of the greatest managers, one of the greatest wrestling personalities of all time with, arguably, I would say; the greatest wrestler currently active in today’s world.”

Are you enjoying the start of Kenny Omega’s run as AEW Champion? Do you think that he’ll appear in more promotions? Let us know in the comments

Arn Anderson: “No One Person Is Drawing a House Now”

Former WWE agent and AEW on-screen coach Arn Anderson recently discussed WWE’s booking style over the past 5 years. The Enforcer was discussing the TLC 2015 PPV on this week’s episode of the ARN podcast.

“We were starting to feel the changing of the guard around this time” Arn Anderson would begin on the podcast. Anderson would then state that the landscape of WWE and professional wrestling has changed to the point that no one person can ‘draw the house’ by themselves anymore.

Arn Anderson on ‘Drawing a House’

“No one person is going to be responsible for drawing a house and hasn’t for some time” Anderson claimed. “Now that used to not be the case. I mean when Hulk Hogan was on the card? That would do it. But when you’re saying in 2015 [and beyond]? If you’ve got eight matches on a card? You better have five that matter.”

Interestingly, John Cena was brought up by co-host Conrad Thompson, but Anderson didn’t address if he was/is still a major draw. It’s fair to say that over the last 10-15 years he has been possibly the one name that could’ve drawn the biggest ‘houses.’

Anderson would then discuss the importance of creating value for money on a PPV card in modern times. “People are tight with a buck these days and how they’ve got to spend their money. They pick and choose where they spend their money. One person hasn’t drawn a house in a long long time. You’ve got to have several things that the audience is interested in.”

Do you agree with Arn Anderson on the principal of ‘drawing the house’ and PPV buys in modern wrestling? Who to you was the last person to be ahead of the pack? Let us know in the comments

AEW World Title Match Set for New Year’s Smash (Night 1)

Kenny Omega’s first AEW World Championship defense will take place on Wednesday, December 30th on the final AEW Dynamite of the year. The bout will headline the first New Year’s Smash special event, which spans two consecutive weeks.

Omega battled Joey Janela in a no-disqualification match on this week’s Dynamite. Following Omega’s win, Death Triangle hit the stage. PAC said Omega had unfinished business, since Fenix had to withdraw from the recent World Title Eliminator Tournament due to injury.

Rey Fenix (Photo: AEW)

PAC argued that since Omega never beat Fenix, he can’t legitimately claim the AEW World Championship. Don Callis said that wrestlers don’t get to book their own title matches. PAC said that wasn’t an issue, because AEW President Tony Khan already sanctioned the match for 12/30.

Kenny Omega and Rey Fenix have history. In addition to being the reigning AEW World Champion, Omega also holds the AAA Mega championship. He defeated Fenix for that prize in October 2019.

AEW Holiday Schedule

AEW is closing out 2020 in a big way. The next three weeks of AEW Dynamite will be special holiday-themed shows. Here’s the announced schedule:

  • January 6th: New Year’s Smash (Night 2): WWE Hall of Famer Snoop Dogg will be on commentary for the first Dynamite of the new year.

Chris Jericho Names Big Show As His Favorite Tag Team Partner Ever

All Elite Wrestling’s Chris Jericho has named The Big Show as his favorite tag team partner. Jericho made the declaration on a recent episode of his podcast, Talk is Jericho. He stressed how Big Show was his favorite tag team partner “by far.”

“That was because I was tag team champions with Edge and Edge tore his Achilles tendon and he was going to be out for eight months,’ Jericho said. “They didn’t want to strip me of the titles, so Vince wanted me to have another partner because we were going into a feud with DX. A lot of people wanted to put me with a young guy and I said, we can’t do this, DX will eat you alive unless I have somebody that’s a world champion level.”

According to Jericho, he suggested he team up with Kane. However, Vince McMahon proposed he team with Big Show. Jericho liked the idea but had a couple of caveats before agreeing.

“I said, great, but no more comedy and he needs to get rid of the one-sided strap. I wanted him in tights. He wanted a singlet. I said we are going to remember how big he is and he is going to be a giant with me. Vince said, ‘Absolutely.’ That’s where it started.”

Jericho And Big Show’s Chemistry

Chris Jericho reflected on how every match the team won was only because of The Big Show knocking out their opponent. The two would ultimately become close friends, with Jericho noting how they would argue “like an old married couple.”

“[…] I would have an idea and then he would come up with an idea. I would say, ‘yeah that’s good, but mine’s better.’ He would say, ‘Fine, I’ll just sit here and be a big stupid giant and won’t say a word.’ We had a great chemistry and a great friendship. He was an excellent partner for sure.”

Chris Jericho competed during last night’s episode of AEW Dynamite. Alongside his Inner Circle stablemates, he faced off against Best Friends, The Varsity Blondes, and Top Flight.

Kenny Omega To Defend AEW Title At Dynamite: New Year’s Smash

After a successful defence at this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite, Kenny Omega will once again be defending his AEW world title at the upcoming New Year’s Smash episode of the show.

This week’s episode of the weekly show saw the cleaner taking on Joey Janela in the main event and the champion won the bout after delivering two V-Triggers and a One-Winged Angel on Janela.

Omega’s new associate Don Callis then took the mic and started gloating about how all the haters have been silenced with this victory before the Death Triangle came out.

The trio of Pac, Rey Fenix, and Penta El Zero Miedo interrupted the segment. Pac reminded the AEW champion that they have unfinished business but he claimed that he was here for a different reason.

The former WWE star reminded everyone how Rey Fenix had to pull out of the Title Eliminator Tournament earlier this year and said that Omega can’t call himself the rightful champion until Fenix has gotten his opportunity.

Callis tried to stop the trio but Pac revealed that he has already spoken to the AEW president Tony Khan. He then announced that a match between Rey Fenix and Kenny Omega has been made official for the upcoming Dynamite episode on December 30.

For those who don’t know, Rey Fenix had defeated Penta in the first round of the Title Eliminator Tournament in October but he was pulled from the second round of the tournament due to a neck injury. Penta then replaced his brother in the tournament and faced Omega in the second round.

Fenix will now be getting his shot at the AEW world title at Dynamite: New Year’s Smash night 1 on December 30. Chris Jericho would be on the commentary for this episode.

Angelico connected with an Arm Drag and then locked up with Rhodes in the middle of the ring. Angelico and Cody traded shoves and then ran the ropes until Cody connected with a Dropkick for a one count as Dynamite went to a commercial break.

After the match, Team Taz interrupted and mocked Cody’s announcement. Taz said that Brian Cage is going whoop TNT Champion Darby Allin’s ass. Taz added that Cody was about to be put on paternity leave right now but the lights went out. Sting came to the entrance ramp with his baseball bat and Team Taz retreated. Before making his way backstage, Sting winked as Darby Allin looked on.

Eddie Kingston came to the ring to a chorus of boos from the crowd. Kingston said he doesn’t care about anybody in the crowd and that he was here to address his enemies. Eddie stated that Pac went back home to nurse his injuries and suggested that his career was done.

Omega Will Defend The Title Against Fenix

AEW Champion Kenny Omega faced Joey Janela in a No DQ World Championship Eliminator match. Joey Janela launched a trash can in Omega’s face as Don Callis demanded Tony give him his headset so he can call the match. Tony told Callis to kiss his ass and Don stormed away.

Omega slammed Joey’s face into a steel chair and then followed it up with a Suicide Dive. Don Callis then called the match with a microphone and handed it to Omega. Kenny shouted at Janela to get up and brought him into the ring. Omega handed the microphone to the referee and Moonsaulted onto him with a garbage can for a two count.

Don claimed it was a slow count as Omega hit Joey with a chop to the chest. Omega connected with a Double Stomp and went for the One Winged Angel but Janela countered into a Destroyer. Sonny Kiss brought a table out from under the ring and set it up.

Joey put Kenny on top of the table and climbed to the top rope. Janela connected with a Leg Drop through the table and rolled him back into the ring. Janela went for a Moonsault but Omega got out of the way and hit the V-Trigger. Omega hit another V-Trigger and then the One Winged Angel for the pinfall victory.

After the match, Death Triangle (Pac, Fenix, and Pentagon) came to the entrance ramp. Pac said he had unfinished with Kenny Omega but they were out here to address injustice. Pac stated that Fenix never lost in the Eliminator Tournament and questioned how Kenny can call himself the rightful champion.

Callis said that wrestlers do not tell the world champion what to do. Pac stated that he has already spoke to Tony Khan and that this match has been sanctioned. Pac announced that Kenny Omega will defend the title against Rey Fenix on the December 30th edition of Dynamite.

Opinion: Omega and Fenix will put on an awesome match in a couple of weeks and I’m already looking forward to it. I’m guessing that most people either love or hate The Acclaimed. I find their promos to be entertaining and they should have a great title match against The Young Bucks next week. Overall, this week’s Dynamite flew by and was a very entertaining show.

Brandi & Cody Rhodes Expecting Their First Child Together

Brandi and Cody Rhodes are expecting their first child. The news was announced during Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite as Cody made his ring entrance.

https://twitter.com/AEW/status/1339380922261655553

AEW and Tony Khan congratulated the parents-to-be.

This is the second pregnancy announcement on AEW Dynamite in less than a month. Just a few weeks ago, Jon Moxley dropped the bombshell that he has a ‘pregnant wife at home’ during a promo video that aired on AEW’s flagship show.

Congratulations to Brandi and Cody Rhodes.

Jim Cornette Rips Into AEW Talent for Jim Ross Jibe

Former WCW, NWA, WWF and Smoky Mountain Wrestling personality Jim Cornette recently discussed Brandon Cutler’s remarks aimed at AEW commentator Jim Ross.

JR recently talked about the ‘overused’ spot where multiple performers wait outside the ring for a tope suicida. Cutler would respond on Twitter by writing the following:

“THIS WEDNESDAY on #AEWDynamite 7 vs 7 We’re gonna go outside, cluster up like coils, stand there in a huddle, friends and foes together, side-by-side to catch some leaping idiot going over the top.”

Jim Cornette on Brandon Cutler

Jim Cornette would completely rip into Cutler for making these remarks. “He’s gonna find out that he just the first time he gets a chance to show his little f*cking white ass on television? He’s just pissed off the announcer that might have actually managed to get him over.”

“JR’s the greatest announcer in wrestling, but he’s not Merlin/Magician” Jim Cornette would continue. “You couldn’t get this guy over with a f*cking 10,000 pound tank of helium. But these little f*cking jack offs and their little tree house school boy clique that they’ve got going? When people that obviously know more about the business that they’re in than they do? Whether they want to admit it or not? Whether they can grasp it in their little brains?”

Jim Cornette would finish by lambasting the team at AEW in general. “These people tell them: A) you dumb sh*t, this is what most people think. Yet they’re doing cartwheels and blowing kisses in the air whenever they get a million viewers!”

Do you agree with Jim Cornette? Do you think that AEW talent are not listening enough to the critique of more ‘old school’ types? Let us know in the comments

Darby Allin On Shaq In AEW, Other Celebrity Appearances

Following Shaquille O’Neal’s recent appearance on All Elite Wrestling, TNT Champion Darby Allin has shared his thoughts on celebrities doing crossovers with the promotion.

Speaking with SK Wrestling, Allin admitted it “kicked ass” to see O’Neal involved with AEW. He added he is interested to see where how this crossover will develop.

Allin shared how he’d like to see “more crossovers with other forms of media.” He shared how he’s a fan of “all that stuff” before pointing out his videos with Tony Hawk, Steve-O and Travis Pastrana.

He explained how, “[…] as much as these guys get me hyped, I want to bring them into the world so that all the other wrestling fans can see what they do.”

Darby Allin believes that the presence of celebrities and outsides coming into AEW may help the locker room take performing more seriously.

He claimed that “Half the wrestlers are complete jokes that don’t take it seriously. So I would love to have someone else step into our world and take it seriously and kicking ass.”

Shaquille O’Neal In AEW

Shaquille O’Neal featured in a segment during last week’s episode of AEW Dynamite. He participated in an interview with Tony Schiavone and Brandi Rhodes to discuss the actions of Jade Cargill.

O’Neal explained how, although he appreciates Cargill, he can’t condone her injuring Brandi’s arm. The former NBA star has previously expressed his interest in competing against Cody Rhodes.

Darby Allin, meanwhile, recently found himself face-to-face with “The Icon” Sting during Sting’s debut a few weeks ago. He was singled out by Sting during a promo on last week’s show in a segment that also featured Cody Rhodes.
