Bryan Danielson considered his AEW World Championship win the greatest moment of his life for several reasons, but leave it to Jack Perry to put a damper on his celebration.
Danielson walked away from ALL IN the new World Championafter he made Swerve Strickland submit, a first in AEW, and on this week’s Dynamite, Bryan was looking for his first challenger, but not before he made a few things clear.
At first, Danielson teasedthat he may be retiring as champ, noting that he’s going to need neck surgery again soon and the promise he made to his daughter, but got Champaign, Illinois amped back up when he said he wasn’t done yet.
He planned to wrestle full time until he lost that title which he didn’t plan on doing anytime soon. That’s when Danielson issued a “first come, first serve” challenge to anyone in the locker room. Jack Perry appeared on the big screen and mentioned the two’s brief history with one another. Suddenly a reveal was made when Perry attacked Danieslon from behind and it was ‘The Scapegoat’ who stood tall to end the show.
Perry is indeed a surprise challenger for Danielson despite getting a definitive victory against Darby Allin at AEW ALL IN. With less than two weeks before AEW ALL OUT, many fans speculated that the quick feud would be against Christian Cage who won a future title shot at the PPV. Being a false father figure, Cage has a built-in story with Danielson considering how major of a plot Brie Garcia and his kids have been. However, that appears to be a feud further down the line.
Mariah May was dressed to celebrate her AEW Women’s Championship win, but decided against doing so in Champaign, IL.
May took out her former friend in Toni Storm to become the new champ this past Sunday at AEW ALL IN and a celebration was advertised for this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite. Tony Schiavone was standing on stage during the show and introduced the new champion, who merely came out with a black silk robe on. However, there were no fireworks, balloons or champagnes as May decided that Champaign, IL wasn’t fit for such an occassion.
She ran down the town, claiming it should be called “p*** warm beer” instead of Champaign, and then made a vulgar implication towards the average looking women of the area.
May had Schiavone all kinds of flustered in his ‘Mean Gene’ Okerlund role, and probably got a good deal of the viewing audience the same way when she opened up her robe to show a revealing outfit along with her newly won title.
Mariah wasn’t the only woman celebrating that evening as Mercedes Mone had a little backstage bubbly to celebrate her victory against Britt Baker. Private Party tried crashing the party, but Isiah Kassidy and Marq Quen were removed from the premises with a little help from Kazuchika Okada.

Outside the ring, Chris Jericho has held many roles in entertainment, from Dancing with the Stars to leading Fozzy and now the AEW original is returning to the Terrifier film series. On August 28, a new trailer was dropped for Terrifier 3, which will take place five years after the event of the previous film. Jericho appears around halfway through the trailer, though based on the expression on his face, things aren’t going well for the Learning Tree.
Jericho appeared in Terrifier 2, which was released in cinemas in October 2022. For the film, Jericho portrayed a psychiatric hospital nurse called Burke and is reprising the character for the upcoming movie. Terrifier 3 will have its premiere at Fantastic Fest next month and will be released in cinemas on October 11.
Terrifier 3
The new film follows siblings Sienna and Jonathan, who survived the demonic Art the Clown’s Halloween massacre from the previous film in the series. The pair’s efforts to put the past behind them and focus on the approaching holiday season prove impossible when Art returns to unleash his twisted brand of terror on all those unfortunate to come across him.
Chris Jericho And Horror
The first-ever AEW World Champion is no stranger to stepping into the world of horror. One of Jericho’s first feature film roles saw him play Levi in 2009’s Albino Farm, a horror film in which four college students are hunted by cannibals on the titular farm. Unfortunately for Jericho, his first foray into horror was met with negative reviews, and the film has a disappointing 14% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
In April of this year, Jericho was cast in an action-horror film about pro-wrestling, blending two of the 53-year-old entertainer’s passions. Dark Match will tell the story of a small-time wrestling company that accepts a well-paying gig in a remote town only to learn the town falls under a cult leader. In addition to Jericho, the film will star Steven Ogg (The Walking Dead) and Ayisha Issa (Transplant.)
AEW TBS Champion Mercedes Mone recently revealed that Royal Corgis were part of her entrance at AEW All In London.
During the latest edition of her Mone Mag newsletter, Mercedes Mone revealed that the Corgis who were part of her entrance at the show in Wembley were actually the Royal Corgis. She named Snowdon, Honey, and Jam who were the Corgis for her entrance and revealed that they were descendants of Queen Elizabeth’s Corgis. ‘The CEO’ also revealed how they had a great time backstage. She said:
“Snowdon, Honey, and Jam, were the name of the corgis who I shared my entrance carriage with. These were not just any corgis mind you, they were corgis from actual royal lineage. Snowdon, Honey and Jam were descendants of the Queen’s corgis (as in Queen Elizabeth). Like most corgis, they were so loving and connected. They hung in our dressing room all day and really added a lot of calm and love. Big shoutout to @?corgis_of_eton!“
Mercedes Mone also revealed that she spent over $10K on her outfit. She revealed:
“My hair wasn’t the only thing that cost a pretty penny. My robe, which was so beautiful, grand, and regal, was also my most expensive in my 14 years of wrestling. The whole outfit, in total, cost me over $10,000, All In (no pun intended).”
AEW All In London 2023 She was watching over the competition. AEW All In London 2024 She defends the TBS Title.
Can the TBS Champion Mercedes Moné leave Wembley Stadium #ANDSTILL?
Last year, Mercedes Mone was in attendance for All In London and this year she managed to retain her title at the show. She defeated Britt Baker D.M.D to retain her TBS Championship. This marked Mone’s sixth defense of the title that she won back at the Double Or Nothing pay-per-view in May. ‘The CEO’ will return to the ring at NJPW Capital Collision when she defends her NJPW Strong Women’s Title against Momo Watanabe.
AEW All In: London 2024marked the end of MJF’s time as AEW American Champion, as well as the end of that star-spangled strap. Now, not only will MJF not be known as the AEW American Champion, but he doesn’t want to be known as an American at all.
On the August 28, edition of AEW Dynamite, a visibly frustrated MJF arrived on the scene and complained about a splitting headache. To chants of “shut the f*** up,” MJF lamented his loss inside Wembley Stadium and claimed he now has herniated discs in his spine.
In stark contrast to his jingoistic title reign, MJF renounced his American citizenship, claiming he wanted nothing to do with “this garbage country.” The only exception MJF made was for his native Long Island, for which his love remains unwavering.
The modern-day Benedict Arnold described the promotion as a “circus” without him at its center, emphasizing his belief that he is the key to AEW’s success. MJF then turned his ire to Will Ospreay, the man who dethroned him and became AEW International Champion at All In: London. The scumbag vowed to screw Ospreay over whenever the Brit gets close to winning the AEW World Championship.
Turning On Your Country
MJF joins a select number of wrestlers to turn their backs on the United States, including Sgt. Slaughter who turned on the U.S. to support Iraq in the Gulf War. Years later, Rob Conway would become a French ‘sympathizer’ and align with La Resistance despite being from Louisville, Kentucky.
AEW All Out just got even more intense, as a new match has been officially added to the card: Daniel Garcia will face MJF on September 7 in Chicago. The announcement comes after a violent encounter on this week’s AEW Dynamite, where Garcia once again targeted MJF with a vicious assault.
Be careful what you ask for MJF, DANIEL GARCIA IS HERE!
Garcia revealed that he was the one who stole MJF’s prized Dynamite Diamond Ring, and pawned it to pay for his trip to London, where he interfered in MJF’s his match against Will Ospreay at All In. In a scathing promo, he didn’t hold back in expressing his hatred.
“Max, ruining your life is all I think about. It is my obsession. Max, ruining your life is my fetish.
Garcia disclosed that AEW President Tony Khan granted his request to make the match official for the upcoming pay-per-view event. With this announcement, All Out continues to shape up as a must-see event.
Stay tuned to SEScoops for more updates and coverage leading up to AEW All Out.

Swerve Strickland threw the gauntlet on AEW Dynamite, challenging ‘Hangman’ Adam Page to a Steel Cage Match at AEW All Out on September 7. This challenge adds another layer to what has already become one of the most personal and heated rivalries in AEW history.
RUN IT BACK! Swerve Strickland and Hangman Adam Cage in a CAGE at #AEWAllOut?!
Strickland, known for his intensity and mind games, had strong words for Hangman when issuing the challenge.
“I challenged you to remind the world what ‘Cowboy Shit is all about. Instead of trying to burn my career to the ground, your career is the one going up in flames, boy. So once again, I ask you a question. In that cage, what kind of man are you going to be? Better yet, what kind of man are you going to show your kids you’re going to be?”
– Swerve Strickland to Hangman Page
Page accepted the challenge later in the show and AEW made it official.

Jon Moxley made a shocking return at the start of this week’s AEW Dynamite, live from Champaign, IL. The former AEW World Champion had been absent from television for two months, with his last appearance being at the AEW Forbidden Door pay-per-view in June.
During his return, Moxley revealed that he’s been doing a lot of thinking during his time away, reflecting on some matters that need to be addressed. He made it clear that he’s back for a specific reason— to speak to someone who wasn’t present at Dynamite this week.
In a cryptic message, Moxley addressed Darby Allin, stating that while they might seem different, they are also very much alike. He emphasized that this conversation with Allin is long overdue, adding, “Trust me, I’m not gonna be hard to find.”
Before wrapping up, Moxley delivered a bold statement to Tony Schiavone, saying:
“It’s going to take some time for everybody to wrap their brains around this, but we’re going to get started now. This is not your company anymore”
– Jon Moxley
Later in the show, Moxley had former UFC and WWE star Marina Shafir roughing guys up backstage.
It’s Wednesday and you know what that means. Tonight’s AEW Dynamite airs live TBS at 8pm ET from Champaign, IL at the State Farm Center.

AEW wrestler recently Tay Melo has positive news for the fans. She has announced that she has been cleared to return to in-ring action.
Last month, Sammy Guevara revealed that they were training for their return to action. The recent edition of her husband, Sammy Guevara’s vlog documented what went down behind the scenes at AEW All In London. The Brazilian wrestler said on the vlog that she wants to wrestle. Guevara asked, “That might be soon?” Melo said that she has to ask the AEW President about it and revealed that she is cleared to wrestle.
Tay replied:
“You gotta call Tony Khan and ask him because I don’t know about that. I’m cleared, though. I’m cleared. Mama is cleared. Just got cleared.”
Her last AEW match took place in January last year when she joined forces with Anna Jay and faced the team of Ruby Soho & Willow Nightingale in a street fight. Tay has not competed in the ring since last year’s March. At AEW Double or Nothing 2023, she and Sammy announced that they were expecting their first child and in November, the couple was blessed with a baby girl, Luna.
Meanwhile, Tay’s husband, Sammy Guevara had been away from the promotion for quite some time after being suspended. On the February 16 edition of AEW Rampage, Jeff Hardy suffered a broken nose during a No DQ match against Sammy Guevara. During the match, Hardy suffered a concussion as well.
However, the former TNT Champion didn’t follow the concussion protocol. ‘The Spanish God’ still performed his finisher which led to his suspension. Sammy Guevara finally returned in ROH earlier this month and he is currently one-half of the ROH World Tag Team champions with Dustin Rhodes.
All Elite Wrestling’s first-ever AEW International Champion, PAC, will challenge the newly crowned champion, Will Ospreay, at the upcoming AEW All Out pay-per-view. Ospreay captured the title this past weekend at AEW All In London, defeating MJF at Wembley Stadium. During his 39-day reign, MJF had renamed the championship the AEW American Championship, which Ospreay has now reclaimed.
Lee South / AEW – WILL OSPREAY VS MJF: London, AEW All In, August 25, 2024
Updated Card for AEW All Out 2024
There are two matches confirmed for All Out:
AEW International Championship: Will Ospreay (c) vs. PAC
CMLL Women’s World Championship: Willow Nightingale (c) vs. Kris Statlander
AEW All Out airs live on pay-per-view Saturday, September 7, 2024 from Hoffman Estates, Illinois at the NOW Arena.
Brock Anderson believes that AEW’s ‘just TV’ nature has resulted in no ‘setup’ for young talent signed to the promotion to learn the basics. On the Under the Ring podcast, Brock spoke about his time with AEW and his belief that he needed more time to learn away from televised wrestling.
“Looking back now, I wasn’t ready for that because it — for young guys, there is no setup to really learn and grasp the business. It’s just basically just TV.”
Anderson signed a contract with AEW in 2021 and news of this was broken in March of that year on his father Arn’s podcast. Brock’s legendary father helped with his training, as did Q.T. Marshall, Glacier, and Lodi. Brock wrestled 38 times for AEW and shared the ring with notable names including Cody Rhodes, The Acclaimed, and the Blackpool Combat Club. Anderson racked up an impressive 22-16 win/loss record before parting the promotion in late 2023.
AEW and Developing New Talent
Since launching in 2019, AEW has been almost exclusively a broadcast promotion, with only a handful of live events, dubbed ‘House Rules’ shows to its name. Unlike its competitors at WWE, AEW does not have an official in-company developmental system.
The closest Tony Khan’s first promotion got to this was its Dark and Dark: Elevation shows, though these were still broadcast and neither exists today. In 2022, Khan acknowledged that Dark shows were supposed to be “somewhat of a developmental show” before the COVID-19 pandemic changed things.
Khan’s reasoning, as he told the Pro Wrestling Torch podcast, was that the pandemic left plenty of already-trained independent talent itching for a chance to work on a show that was still being broadcast, such as Dark. With a bounty of developed talent ready to work, Khan made use of these already-trained wrestlers, shifting away from the ‘developmental’ intentions of the show.
More has come to light about plans for the recent AEW All In: London pay-per-view that ultimately didn’t make it to the show in Wembley Stadium.
Last weekend’s event saw The Young Bucks retain the AEW World Tag Team Championships against The Acclaimed and FTR. On Wrestling Observer Radio, it was reported that not only were the Lucha Bros. set to challenge for the titles in London, but they were originally planned to win the gold.
The Lucha Bros. haven’t competed for AEW as a team since the July 17, 2024, taping of AEW Rampage. Their absence from All In: London comes amid reports that the duo is wrapping up their time with AEW to jump to WWE. Their Death Triangle ally PAC won the AEW Trios titles in Wembley alongside Claudio Castagnoli and Wheeler Yuta.
From the wild card team to now NEW #AEW World Trio's Champions! Claudio Castagnoli, Wheeler Yuta & PAC!
Jack Perry retained the AEW TNT Championship at All In: London 2024 in a coffin match that went 10:40. The match was the second shortest bout on the main card, only being surpassed by Chris Jericho and HOOK’s FTW Championship battle which went 10:15.
The Observer adds that the TNT Championship match got several minutes cut off as the show had a strict 10 PM BST deadline. This explains why the pair went quickly into glass spots, rather than build up to such violent portions of the match. After the match, Sting made his first appearance since retiring to prevent Perry from setting Allin on fire.
AEW looks like it’s going to be Swerve Strickland’s house for years to come as the former World Champion inked a new deal with the company.
Strickland happened to sign his new AEW deal on air with Tony Khan observing and Fightful Select has some new details of what that new deal entails.
According to the report, the contract is a multi-year deal that will keep Strickland around AEW at least through 2028. This is reportedly one of the biggest deals in AEW history.
Sources have praised Swerve for the work he has done not just in the ring, but out of the ring as well when it comes to making appearances and doing interviews.
Bryan Danielson actually had very high praise for Swerve following his main event match with Strickland at ALL IN. During the post-show media scrum in London, Danielson commended on the talent of Strickland not just as a performer, but as an ambassador for the company as a whole.
Strickland and Danielson duked it out big time in the main event at Wembley and it was Danielson who came out on top, being the first wrestler to force Strickland to submit when he locked him in the LaBell Lock.
Swerve first signed with AEW back in 2022. That initial deal was set to keep him through March of 2025, but now this new deal locks the star in for the foreseeable future. Current plans are to keep Strickland at the top of the card.
It’s fitting that Bryan Danielson came out to Europe’s “Final Countdown” before his AEW World Title win, and ‘The American Dragon’ certainly didn’t plan it that way.
Danielson partook in a bloody, yet technical battle between he and Swerve Strickland in the main event of AEW ALL IN in London for World Championship gold. The stakes were high and simple as Danielson put his career on the line to express his desire to win the World Title.
It was a back and forth match for the two while Danielson appearing to be dead to rights after Swerve unloaded several Swerve Stomps on the challenger. However, being motivated for the love of his kids, Danielson persevered and got the first submission win against Strickland to become the new AEW World Champion.
During the media scrum sitting with his daughter Birdie, Danielson was asked by veteran journalist Keith Elliot Greensburg about walking out to Europe’s “Final Countdown” and if he ever considered how poignant those lyrics were for that night.
“Honestly I chose it as a joke. I was going to Japan a lot and would pick up music magazines at the airport and they used to have all these lists of best songs or whatever. Well they had a 100 worst songs of all time. I think #1 was Final Countdown…”
Danielson hated to admit it, but he was illegally downloading the list of bad songs on Napster. When he heard the song, he thought it would be awesome for entrance music. He did say it was surreal that over 50,000 people were singing along to the famous song, but hoped that it could lead to a heavier wallet for his boss, Tony Khan.
“I don’t know if anybody’s shown this to Europe, if you could, maybe they might bring down the price? It might get us a couple more buys.”
This championship win marked the first time Danielson has won the AEW World Championship since joining the company nearly three years ago.
The newly-crowned AEW International Champion Will Ospreay pulled off an epic Assassin’s Creed-inspired entrance at AEW All In London. He has thanked Roger Craig Smith, who is the voice of Ezio in the Assassin’s Creed game.
Ezio had a message as part of Will Ospreay’s entrance at the pay-per-view at Wembley. A video package having Ezio’s message along with Assassin’s Creed Shadows and Will Ospreay’s highlights was played.
Roger Craig Smith, the popular voice actor thanked AEW and Ubisoft after they partnered to promote the upcoming Assassin’s Creed Shadows. He said that he was honored to be a part of such an epic moment at AEW All In London. ‘The Aerial Assassin’ thanked Smith and explained how he had a huge role to play in his career.
You have no idea how much your role in Assassins Creed played a huge impact in my career.
Thank you so much for being part of the biggest night of my life.
This isn’t the first time Ospreay pulled off such an entrance. He previously paid tribute to Assassin’s Creed with a themed entrance at the Wrestle Kingdom 18 event earlier this year.
It is well-documented that Will Ospreay’s gimmick is heavily inspired by the Assassin’s Creed franchise and it is evident from his entrance attire, nickname and his signature moves.
For his homecoming, Will Ospreay decided to channel his inner Assassin’s Creed character and walked out to a spectacular entrance at All In London. Will Ospreay donned an Assassin’s Creed-inspired red, black, and gold robe with two banners that marked the game’s November 15 release date. The entrance also featured several ninjas performing stunts while wearing Assassin’s Creed hoodies.
Following the entrance, Ospreay competed in an incredible match and defeated MJF. He then finally reinstated the AEW International Championship much to the fans’ delight at Wembley Stadium.
More has come to light about Bryan Danielson’s AEW Word Championship victory that closed out AEW All In: London 2024. Danielson won the gold from Swerve Strickland inside Wembley Stadium in a match that also saw Danielson’s career on the line. After the match, the American Dragon celebrated in the ring with his wife Brie, and their children.
YES! YES! YES! #ANDNEW#AEW World Champion! "The American Dragon" Bryan Danielson!
Danielson had “often and actively” pushed against the idea of becoming AEW World Champion, Fightful Select reports, but ultimately accepted the honor at the insistence of Tony Khan. The AEW President was said to be adamant on Danislon winning the world title eventually and wanted the win to be at All In: London.
The decision for Danielson to face Strickland was made at least by April, despite speculation among fans that Will Ospreay would be headlining All In instead. A source told Fightful that Ospreay would have chances to headline the show for years to come, while Danielson has made clear his career is coming to an end.
There were jokes of a “reverse Montreal Screwjob” taking place, that would ensure Danielson won the match even if he didn’t want to. Fightful’s report adds that Danielson has been working banged up in recent months.
What’s to Come?
Bryan Danielson is AEW World Champion but there are still questions about how long he’ll hold the gold. Bryan has said that he expects to have neck surgery later this year which would of course affect his title reign. On the post-show media scrum, Danielson said he hasn’t planned for the future but will be at this week’s AEW Dynamite in Champaign, Illinois.
Should he remain champion, Danielson will face Darby Allin at Grand Slam: Dynamite next month, amid reports of a World title run for the challenger. Danielson will also have to keep an eye out for Christian Cage. The self-professed great-father won the Casino Gauntlet at All In: London, earning himself an AEW World Title match at a time of his choosing.
Tony Khan is pleased that things are easier backstage these days in AEW, compared to the era of the company when CM Punk was around. Speaking on the AEW All In: London 2024 post-show media scrum, Khan shared that dealing with the AEW roster, especially those who are regulars on Collision, is proving to be a far easier task now compared to 365 days ago.
“I think it’s a lot easier flow between the two shows than it was a year ago. I think the locker room is in a much better place than it was a year ago, as evidenced by when we came up here versus what happened a year ago. And I think it’s a much easier job I have dealing. Because I had to deal with the people on Collision last year and it’s a much easier meeting process to put the TV together than it was a year ago at this time too.”
The ‘what happened a year ago’ Khan is referencing is the infamous backstage altercation at All In: London 2023 between CM Punk and Jack Perry. Rather than celebrate last year’s event, which remains AEW’s highest-attended show, Khan started the 2023 media scrum by addressing the backstage drama and made clear that he would not be taking questions on the matter.
AEW Collision was launched, in part, to keep Punk and The Elite separate, a necessary side-effect of Punk’s previous backstage drama from AEW All Out 2022. The Chicago-Made star was supposed to be the ‘face’ of the show, which has managed without him following his termination from AEW in September 2023.
Though he didn’t leave Wembley with an opportunity at the AEW World Championship, he did kick-off his first feud in the promotion. Backstage, Don Callis spoke about the arrival of Ricochet, who he plans to ‘feed’ to his family member Kyle Fletcher. Callis threw out the challenge to Ricochet to face Fletcher on Dynamite, and Fletcher agreed to ‘crush’ the dreams of fans excited to see the ex-WWE star.
When Ricochet told the two to shut up, Fletcher referred to Ricochet having a ‘sabbatical’ from wrestling. When Fletcher went even further, making reference to Ricochet’s time with WWE Speed, the inaugural Speed Champion questioned why his time with the X-exclusive show was seen as a bad thing.
Wait…why is being a CHAMPION a bad thing??
Plus, I hate to say it but more people watch those matches than one of yours. But don't worry, I'll change that for you. https://t.co/qFdiGNpbVx
The match with Fletcher will be Ricochet’s first singles match since the July 7, 2024 taping of WWE Speed, where he lost the show’s title to current champion Andrade. Stay tuned to SE Scoops for all the latest on Ricochet now that the One & Only is officially an AEW All-Elite talent.

Mercedes Mone successfully defended her TBS Championship against Britt Baker tonight from Wembley Stadium at AEW All In.
Mone was the odds on favorite to win the match before the PPV went live, and she managed to get the dub in her first Wembley Stadium match for All Elite Wrestling.
Can the back of Britt Baker stay strong enough to capture the victory?!
Mone took the win after hitting her Mone Maker on Baker in a decent back and forth match.

Former WWE Superstar Ricochet made his debut for All Elite Wrestling as part of AEW All In 2024 tonight from London, England.
Ricochet left WWE earlier this year and it was reported that he had signed a deal with Tony Khan’s company in the last week or so. It was expected that the former WWE Intercontinental and United States Champion would be appearing in London, and he did as part of the Casino Battle Royale. He put on a dazzling array of high-flying offense, but it was Christian Cage who ultimately won the match.
Nigel McGuinness shocked fans by making his return to the ring by competing at AEW All In: London 2024 inside Wembley Stadium.
