The AEW Tag Team Champions SCU will remain on top of the division as they haven’t been dethroned by The Young Bucks because they retained the straps.
SCU beat Nick & Matt Jackson to keep the titles on Wednesday’s episode of AEW Dynamite in Corpus Christi, TX at the American Bank Center on TNT.Â
The match ended suddenly, which appeared to catch the fans in attendance off guard. The people were quiet once the finish of the match happened and only a few people clapped for SCU retaining the straps.
The Young Bucks’ Journey
All Elite Wrestling set up this contest last week when The Young Bucks faced off against Santana and Ortiz in a brutal Texas Street Fight on AEW Dynamite. This also served as a #1 contenders match.
As a result, it surpassed The Young Bucks to the #1 spot in the AEW tag team rankings and earned them this title match.
SCU Continues To Retain Titles
SCU’s previous title defense came on the November 13th episode of Dynamite when Kazarian and Scorpio Sky beat AEW World Heavyweight Champion Chris Jericho and Sammy Guevara.
SCU won the AEW Tag Team Titles when the promotion held the finals of the Tag Team Title Tournament on the October 30th episode of AEW Dynamite in Charleston, WV at the Charleston Coliseum. SoCal Uncensored beat The Lucha Bros to win the titles.
