CM Punk gave a little preview of his WWE Backstage role before the airing of this week’s episode of the show when he tagged both Vince McMahon and Tony Khan in one tweet about catching up on the recent happenings of the wrestling world.
During a recent interview with WrestlingInc, the AEW President talked about a number of things and also revealed his thoughts on this move from the former World Champion
Khan first explained how he has never brought Punk’s name in any of the interviews by himself and discussing the Straight Edge Star’s tweet, he claimed that he is not sure why he was tagged:
“I haven’t talked to him in a long time. I wish him the best and am not sure why he tagged me but it’s hard to talk about all of the great things happening in wrestling without talking about AEW.”
Khan also spoke about his mentions of Punk saying that he tries to be very honest whenever he is asked a question in media scrums and claimed that he has never tried to lead anyone to believe that the WWE star will be doing anything with AEW.
