Following a failed one-time attempt in MMA, 48 year old Art Jimmerson is looking to make a comeback into pro-boxing as he began to feel the itch once again after nine years. Jimmerson is hoping to enter the ring with another failed MMA hopeful, Kimbo Slice.
Jimmerson believes that going back to the area where he has proven himself and where he is most comfortable is the right step in his career. “I want to redeem myself by showing them the real Art Jimmerson,” Jimmerson explained, “I fought five world champions. I’ve got two world titles under my belt. So I’ve proven myself in boxing. Now, he’s coming over in my territory. So let’s see how he does with me.”
Boxing is his specialty, his area of expertise, and when asked about how he feels Kimbo would stand up against him in the ring, all Jimmerson had to say was, “I just don’t want ‘Kimbo’ to embarrass the sport by coming over here acting like a joke, the way I did with MMA,” finishing by saying:
“I haven’t fought in a few years, but ‘Kimbo’ can’t beat me… I’ve got too much experience.”
