All Elite Wrestling’s Chief Brand Officer Brandi Rhodes has revealed she will no longer be accompanying her husband, Cody, to the ring.
Rhodes shared the information via her Twitter account. She explained that she will be taking a break from being ringside during Cody’s matches and noted that her “inability to focus has been noticeable.”
She added that she doesn’t want to distract Cody from the biggest night of his career as he approaches his AEW World Championship opportunity against current champion, Chris Jericho.
“I have decided to take a break from accompanying my husband to ringside. My inability to focus has been noticeable. I will not allow my…distraction to affect the biggest night of his career. At some point you have to stop dreaming and start doing. I have to wake up.”
The tweet doesn’t mention whether this means she will be focusing more on her in-ring efforts or redirecting her energies solely on backstage duties.
Although Brandi has competed in the past, she hasn’t been involved in a feud or match since participating in All Out’s Casino Battle Royal.
She aligned with Awesome Kong during Double or Nothing. Despite this partnership, both have yet to feature on AEW: Dynamite on TNT.
Cody is scheduled to face off against Chris Jericho at AEW Full Gear on November 9th.
