Chris Jericho was recently interviewed by Newsweek and discussed his time at the commentary position as of late on Dynamite. Jericho noted that the temporary move to the commentary booth allowed him to be more of a focus of the show.
“I’m the leader of the Inner Circle, and I’m Le Champion,” he continued. “I think that was a great kind of stopgap measure to keep the star power on the show because we had a smaller crew for those four weeks that will plug up the gaps and I can kind of be one of the focuses of the show without being the focus of the show if that makes sense.”
Jericho continued to say that he has enjoyed his time working commentary but now he feels its time to go back to what he had been doing before.
“As fun as it is to commentate, that’s maybe something I’ll do more in the future,” Jericho said. “But I think it’s time to kind of take control again, outside of the commentary booth.”
While Dynamite will be live next week, they won’t be live every week moving forward. The May 13th edition will be pretaped before Dynamite runs live again on May 20th.
