CM Punk called in to 106.7 KROQ FM on Tuesday to promote his new horror movie, Girl on the Third Floor. During the appearance, the 40-year old wrestler turned actor addressed rumors that he is in talks to be part of the WWE Backstage studio show on FS1 beginning in November.
“You mean to tell me you’d watch a show where I talk about wrestling?” Punk joked during the show. He would continue to say the story has taken on a life of its own.
Punk is reported to have auditioned recently for a hosting gig alongside Renee Young on the show. According to a recent report from Wrestling Observer Radio, Punk’s audition went well and he is expected to receive some type of offer.
CM Punk Teases Smackdown Appearance
CM Punk would not directly address the situation with WWE Backstage on the radio today but did comment on possibly being on the Smackdown premiere on Fox this Friday. Punk noted that the Rock will be on the show and the last time the Rock was at Staples Center (
“I enjoy The Rock, I do,” he said. “And I’m not trying to put this out… gee,
“Let’s do it again. When is this show, next Friday? Dwayne, call me Friday,” Punk said.
CM Punk was also asked during the show about possibly writing an autobiography someday:
“It’s a possibility. After I shed these frivolous lawsuits and come out victorious in both, I realized I do have a lot of stories that are fairly ridiculous, that I think the public should probably read.”
