Cody hit the entrance ramp headfirst at Full Gear and the result was a gash above his eye. All Elite Wrestling issued a health update for the 34-year-old earlier today. According to AEW, Cody needed 8 stitches, has a costochondral separation and is not currently cleared for competition.
Cody lost to Chris Jericho last night at AEW Full Gear. MJF was cornering Cody and threw in the towel as Jericho had the challenger locked in the Lion Tamer. Following the match, MJF then delivered a low-blow to Cody. Neither Cody nor MJF have posted on social media following the event and neither took part in post-event media scrums.
AEW Injuries Following Full Gear
AEW President Tony Khan noted in his post-event media scrum that no other serious injuries were sustained last night including in the Lights Out match between Jon Moxley and Kenny Omega.
“It was pretty gruesome,” Khan said. “I was very concerned for both guys because they are obviously two of the biggest stars not just two of the biggest stars in AEW but two of the biggest stars in wrestling.”
“We were concerned about it for sure but it was a great match and we’re really happy with it.”
