Independent wrestler, Anthony Gaines, got more than he bargained for over the weekend. He took on House of Hardcore wrestler, Ace Romero, at an Empire State Wrestling event.
The match took place at ESW’s “Summer Sleaze” event on June 30th, 2018. The match was for the Interstate Championship. Check out the highlight below:

Ace Romero vs Anthony Gaines
Romero is a regular for Tommy Dreamer’s House of Hardcore promotion. You can also see him competing for PCW Ultra and Rockstar Pro. Unfortunately for Romero, he was not booked on House of Hardcore’s upcoming tour of Australia.
As for Gaines, he is the current Interstate champion in ESW. He also competes regularly for Pro Wrestling Revolver. He started his career in late 2014.
Empire State Wrestling has been in operation since 2002 and generally runs shows out of the Buffalo – Niagra Falls region. Notable former wrestlers for the promotion include Braxton Sutter, Jimmy Jacobs, AR Fox, Gangrel, Joey Ryan, Petey Williams, Simon Grimm, and Stevie Richards.
