Add Diamond Dallas Page and the Honkey Tonk Man to the list of wrestling legends that could appear in TNA Wrestling in the coming months.
DDP, who worked for TNA back in 2005, tells Jason Clevett of Slam Wrestling that he’s spoken to Eric Bischoff about coming in for a few appearances:
“Eventually I am sure at some point in time when they need a guest referee I may consider it. I want to do the Piper thing, he shows up for two months and then is gone for nine. That is the only kind of thing I want to do, and I am in the shape to still do it. I probably have ten really good matches left in me, and I am not gonna throw them away or just put them out there. If they are willing to pay me to come back, and it behooves me, maybe.”
Page now focuses on his “Yoga for Real Guys” business and says he’s dropped about 25 pounds since his wrestling days. Since he doesn’t have to carry all that extra muscle, he’s down to a “solid and lean” 230 – with the flexibility of a high school cheerleader:
“I can bend over and put my head between my legs, stick my foot over my head and stand one leg. Most guys can’t walk around on two legs!” … You don’t say!
As for the Honkey Tonk Man, the webmaster of his official website posted the following message on HonkeyTonkMan.net:
Honky Tonk Man is very close to signing a deal with TNA! HTM has been in contact with TNA since Early December. More on this breaking News in the next few days.
If there’s one thing misssing from TNA these days, it’s a 57 year old Elvis impersonator.
