After missing weight for his scheduled bout with Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone at Thursday’s official UFC 141: “Lesnar vs. Overeem” weigh-ins, UFC lightweight contender Nate Diaz finally managed to make weight.
Diaz, who initially weighed in at 157 pounds, one pound over the required limit per the Nevada State Athletic Commission, also failed to make weight on his second attempt. A third attempt, however, proved to be the charm for the Stockton-born and bread bad ass, as Diaz tipped the scales at 156 pounds.
So there you have it. Diaz-Cerrone is a go for the co-main event of Friday’s UFC 141: “Lesnar vs. Overeem” event, which emanates from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
