The first UFC heavyweight title fight of 2012 is likely to place at the mid-point of this year.
On Tuesday’s episode of the new FUEL TV show “UFC Tonight,” UFC president Dana White revealed that a title fight between champion Junior Dos Santos and new number one contender Alistair Overeem is likely for the summer.
Despite the hint at when the fight will take place, no official date or venue is confirmed at this point.
White stated, “Hopefully this summer. This summer is probably when it’s going to go down.”
“Alistair wants to take some time off. Dos Santos is ready but needs to get some training in. So hopefully, this summer,” concluded the company president.
