FOX Sports co-president Eric Shanks spoke during the previewed coverage of the highly anticipated UFC heavyweight Cain Velasquez vs. Junior Dos Santos which is set as the main event bout for UFC on Fox 1. Shanks shared why he felt the need for a “coming out” party for the UFC coming to FUEL:
“It’s pretty obvious that we need to introduce the world to the UFC on FUEL. We need to let people know that FUEL is going to be one of the FOX homes for the UFC. It’s a coming out party for the UFC on FOX and it’s a coming out party for FUEL doing the UFC as well. It’s a way to raise awareness for FUEL.”
