UK based independent promotion 5 Star Wrestling recently made headlines when company owner Daniel Hinkles publicly offered CM Punk $1 Million Dollars to return to the ring.
Hinkle had hoped to sign Punk to take part in his company’s 128 Man Tournament that begins June 10th in Liverpool’s Echo Arena.
5 Star has now announced the first names for the tournament, they are:
- Rob Van Dam
- Carlito
- John Morrison
- Moose
- El Ligero
- Joe Coffey
- Zack Gibson
- Bram
The speculation surrounding Punk’s involvement has not yet waned and although this may well be a publicity stunt to gain notoriety for the UK company it likely will not die down until Punk himself makes an official statement or simply does not appear in 2 weeks time.
