New Japan Pro Wrestling has announced that a 5-team gauntlet match will take place on the Wrestle Kingdom 13 preshow. The winners will earn a title match against the NEVER Openweight 6-Man tag-team championships.
The 5 teams NJPW has announced for the gauntlet match on the Wrestle Kingdom 13 preshow include:
- Ryusuke Taguchi, Toru Yano, & Togi Makabe
- Minoru Suzuki, Davey Boy Smith Jr., and Lance Archer
- Jeff Cobb, Michal Elgin, & David Finlay
- Chuckie T, Beretta, and Hirooki Goto
- Marty Scurll, Hangman Page, and Yujiro Takahashi
Additionally, NJPW announced the following matches for the Fan Fest scheduled for January 3rd:
- Tiger Mask & Jushin Liger vs Yuya Uemura & Ren Narita
- Yuji Nagata & Manabu Nakanishi vs Toa Henare & Tomoaki Honma
- Satoshi Kojima & Hiroyoshi Tenzan vs Shota Umino & Ayato Yoshida
