Impact Wrestling 12/3 Lineup & Preview

Impact Wrestling went back in time to 1983 last week. It was actually the Impact Provincial Wrestling Federation that hosted last week’s show. This week, Impact Wrestling jets back 36 years to present a show taped from New York’s Melrose Ballroom on November 7th, 2019.

Impact Wrestling on AXS TV 12/3:

  1. Brian Cage vs Eddie Edwards
  2. ODB Returns
  3. Rob Van Dam speaks
  4. The Rascalz vs Ace Austin & Reno Scum

Brian Cage vs Eddie Edwards

Brian Cage was the final person eliminated in the #1 Contender Gauntlet match 2 weeks ago. Tessa Blanchard won the match and will now face Sami Callihan for the Impact World Championship at Hard to Kill on January 12th. Cage seems to be out of the world title picture now for the time being but he’s going to look to get back on the winning side of things tonight against Edwards.

Edwards is coming out of a rivalry with Ace Austin that saw him and Alisha Edwards reconcile and Eddie to discover an even more unstable part of his persona. He’ll be looking for a big win tonight as well.

ODB Returns To Impact Wrestling

The tapings from New York’s Melrose Ballroom were declared “ODB Appreciation Nights” as the former Knockouts champion was honored for her contributions to wrestling and proceeds from the tapings helped to purchase a new food truck for her. ODB recently lost her food truck (which was the source of her livelihood) to a fire. Mick Foley has also been helping her raise money to replace what she lost.

During her run with the company, ODB helped the Knockouts division really stick out with her unique style and approach. ODB is a 4x Knockouts champion and a 1x Knockouts tag team champion.

Rob Van Dam Speaks (Maybe)

Impact Wrestling is advertising that Rob Van Dam will speak on this week’s episode. They advertised two weeks ago that he would appear on the show but RVD ended up no-showing. RVD sent in a video where he explained his flight had been booked for 11 AM, and he doesn’t get up that early so he couldn’t make it. RVD doesn’t seem to care much about his fans these days. He’d rather complain about wrestlers stealing his moves.

Will Rob Van Dam actually appear on Impact Wrestling tonight?

The Rascalz vs Ace Austin & Reno Scum

Ace Austin won the X-Division championship at Bound for Glory and now has Trey from the Rascalz as his next challenger. Trey won a #1 contender match on a recent episode of Impact while his mother cheered him on from the crowd. Austin was on commentary for the match and took a liking to Trey’s mother. Will Austin play the same games with Trey’s mother that he did with Alisha Edwards?

Austin and Reno Scum have been aligned in recent months, which works out well now that the tag team is on the road with Impact and not just at Las Vegas tapings.

This trios match will likely build to a future X-Division title match between Trey and Ace Austin.

What Else Could Happen Tonight?

Two weeks ago, Tessa Blanchard earned a title match against Sami Callihan at Hard to Kill. While Blanchard and Callihan were busy portraying a member of the Rough Riders and a cosplaying wrestling manager last week, the build to Hard to Kill picks back up this week. We’ll see if Blanchard and Callihan have something to say about their pending tilt on this week’s show.

Jordynne Grace seems to have emerged as the top-contender for Taya Valkyrie’s title. As she is one to do, however, Taya will be sure to avoid having to defend her title at all costs and even enlist the help of John E. Bravo to provide obstacles for Grace.

Also, Rosemary seems concerned regarding Jim Mitchell’s intentions toward Su Yung, who has been suffering from memory problems since a vicious assault from Havok.
