Former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Jack Swagger (real name Jake Hager) departed from WWE back in March of last year. He has since been doing work on the independent circuit for promotions such as House Of Hardcore and 5 Star Wrestling.
This past November it was announced that Swagger would venture into the world of mixed martial arts (MMA), signing a multi-fight deal do compete in Bellator MMA’s heavyweight division. It was initially announced that he is expected to make his debut in the cage sometime this year.
In a recent interview with Ringside News, Swagger made yet another revelation. He announced that he would be appearing on Lucha Underground in the next few weeks. As far as juggling professional wrestling and MMA goes, Swagger doesn’t see there being a problem with that:
“Jack Swagger, Jake Hager, he is going to be appearing on Lucha Underground in one week, two weeks, whenever this airs. Three weeks? June 13th. I think it’s going to be great.
“I don’t see any problem doing Lucha Underground and Bellator and hopefully we shoot another season of Lucha this year so we can put it out next year.”
