Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler was recently celebrated in his native Memphis, but the WWE Hall of Famer did not have long to celebrate thanks to Jeff Jarrett.
At a Memphis Grizzlies game, Lawler was presented with a Lifetime Achievement Title in recognition of his contribution to Memphis Wrestling in and out of the ring over decades. This brought out Jeff Jarrett, who was on hand to introduce his AEW ally Satnam Singh. The pair took the award from Lawler much to the disdain of the fans in attendance.

During another timeout, Jarrett cut a promo to the fans. The AEW star and WWE Hall of Famer said he was going to take over Grind City Wrestling. The Memphis Grizzlies would lose 112-118 to the Oklahoma City Thunder in an action-packed game.
Jerry Lawler and Jeff Jarrett
This is hardly the first time that Lawler and Jarrett have gotten into things at a Memphis Grizzlies game. Back in 2018, the pair didn’t just have an altercation but had a match at a game. The bout in question saw Jarrett hit Lawler with a guitar while the referee was down and pinned the Memphis legend.

Jarrett and Lawler’s history extends far back than 2018. The two feuded in the USWA during the early 1990s, often with championship gold on the line. Despite this, the pair would also hold the USA World Tag Team Championships together on four separate occasions. Jarrett would also hold those same titles with Lawler’s son the late Brian Christopher twice.
