WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross’ new gig calling live boxing from Las Vegas has been put on hold. The inaugural “Knockout Night at the D” boxing card scheduled for Saturday night has been canceled due to issues between the promoter and Nevada State Athletic Commission.

In a statement issued on Friday, D Las Vegas CEO Derek Stevens said:

“Last night, I received multiple calls from the Nevada Athletic Commission regarding eligibility concerns. After our discussions, it became apparent the fight card could not move forward.

“Although I’m disappointed with the situation, I appreciate the phone calls and look forward to working with the Nevada Athletic Commission on future boxing events at the DLVEC.”

The Saturday night card was going to air live on CBS Sports Network with Jim Ross and Al Bernstein calling the action. The goal was to use this show to launch a series of monthly fight cards from Las Vegas.
