Jim Ross spoke about what one of his biggest fears was about going to AEW on the latest episode of his “Grillin JR” podcast. According to comments JR made, he was concerned that so many talents at AEW are also Executive Vice Presidents in the company.
“One of my biggest fears of going to AEW was that a lot of the top talent are all EVPs,” Ross said on his podcast. “And they are going to be deciding the fate and direction of a lot of talent and sometimes talents taking orders from other active talents doesn’t work out real well.”
Ross would continue to say, however, that so far there have not been any issues in AEW regarding this.
“Now, I will tell you, this situation at AEW right now has been phenomenal. Talents are communicated with, they have input, they have real input, not just lip-service bulls**t.”
JR then spoke about Jericho’s recent promo work.
“Do you think anybody books Jericho’s stuff? Jericho’s concept for that promo they had last week was all his and then he let the guys who had lines come up with their own lines. Like when Sammy G said that Jericho was the youngest AEW champion in history, it was funny!”
JR’s comments about AEW come in around the 42-minute mark of the below podcast:
