Marty Scurll Set To Challenge For ROH World Title At G1 Supercard

Marty Scurl

Marty Scurll is set to take part in one of the biggest matches thus far in his pro wrestling career.

On Wednesday during the press conference for Friday’s ROH 17th Anniversary pay-per-view, it was revealed that Scurll is cashing in his title shot to challenge the ROH World Champion at the G1 Supercard event.

Lethal is slated to make his next title defense as ROH World Champion against Matt Taven at the 17th Anniversary pay-per-view. Scurll vs. Kenny King is also on tap for this show.

If you recall, Scurll won ROH’s Survival of the Fittest tournament in November 2018 and as a result, has earned an ROH World Title Match. Lethal has been ROH World Champion since June.

Ring of Honor Wrestling (ROH) and New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) are co-promoting the G1 Supercard event in New York City’s Madison Square Garden on April 6th during WrestleMania 35 weekend.

The G1 Supercard event will air live on pay-per-view via cable and satellite FITE TV for $39.99 as well as on HonorClub and NJPW World. Here’s the updated card:

  • IWGP Heavyweight Champion Jay White vs. the winner of the New Japan Cup
  • Marty Scurll challenging for the ROH World Championship
  • IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion Taiji Ishimori vs. Dragon Lee and Bandido – Triple Threat Match
  • IWGP Tag Team Champions Tama Tonga & Tanga Loa vs. ROH Tag Team Champions The Briscoes
