Mike Parrow’s NWA Ring Entrance Celebrated By LGBTQ Community

Mike Parrow proudly wore the Pride flag around his neck as he entered the ring at NWA’s 70th Anniversary show on Sunday. His entrance has been celebrated by Out Sports, a publication which features athletes from the LGBTQ community.

Parrow came out openly as gay in an article for Out Sports last December. In speaking about that decision, Parrow has said, “My life changed forever on Dec. 27, 2017, and I don’t have a single regret.”

“I never realized how many LGBTQ fans had felt forgotten by the wrestling world.” Parrow wrote regarding the December 2017 article. “They felt that they had no voice in wrestling and thought that the wrestling companies were basically going to give them the same tired gay characters. But something changed and I’m an example.”

Parrow hopes that by being open with his relationship to his fiance, it will help to normalize same-sex relationships. He has also referred to his partner as his “Swole-mate”.

Parrow appeared on Good Morning Britain this January. He spoke about having voluntarily undergone conversion therapy when he was younger.
