Don Callis’ current situation with New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) is certainly an interesting one. Callis recently missed the last three days of the G-1 card due to his obligations with IMPACT Wrestling. He was even left off the “King Of Pro Wrestling” pay-per-view (PPV) and reportedly hasn’t been called for any future NJPW shows.
In Japan, it’s believed that Callis’ duties with IMPACT will prevent him from returning. All of this could simply be a miscommunication, however. It’s possible Callis works several big shows a year while maintaining his responsibilities with IMPACT. With that being said, the entire ordeal seems to be bothering IWGP Intercontinental Champion, Chris Jericho.
Callis and Jericho are great friends, as Callis was the man responsible for setting up “Y2J’s” feud with Kenny Omega last year. Jericho took to Twitter recently to comment on the matter. Here’s what he had to say:
“Not using @CyrusOverHuge over huge for ANY AND ALL commentary is a big mistake and just plain stupid. @njpw1972”
