Pro wrestling contracts are very important to the business. It helps companies lock down talent to make sure they can use them for later. Then again, contracts are not essential in every case.
It seems that NJPW star Gabe Kidd has actually been working without a contract. This has left him working for the company for well over a month on a handshake deal.
Gabriel Kidd’s Contract Status
According to Fightful Select, Gabe Kidd’s contract with NJPW was expected to expire in January. It lapsed, leaving him without a contract for approximately a month and a half.
Despite this contract situation, he continued to participate in key events such as the major cage match with Bullet Club War Dogs in February and New Japan Cup matches in March.
Now it is reported that Kidd has inked a new deal with New Japan Pro Wrestling. The specifics of the contract terms have yet to be disclosed. During the past few weeks, Kidd has been in Japan, actively participating in matches for the New Japan Cup shows.
