We noted before how WWE Mae Young Classic competitor and former NXT Star Zeda had confirmed the news of her release on Instagram, though it appears she is not the only star the company has let go in the past week or so.
Pro Wrestling Sheet reports that one half of the NXT tag team The Ealy Brothers, Uriel Ealy has also been released sometime in the last week.
The Ealy Brothers signed with WWE back in 2015. They made their debut for the company in May in the same year where the duo competed in a 6 men tag match.
The Milwaukee-born siblings teamed up with Angelo Dawkins to face the team of Rich Swann, Kenneth Crawford, and the Velveteen Dream who was then dubbed as Patrick Clark during their debut, in a losing effort.
Uriel’s last on-screen appearance was in January earlier this year where he had teamed up with his brother to wrestle in a match against TM-61. He then wrestled at several house shows but has been out of action since late March.
It’s unusual for WWE to let go only one of the two brothers, though so far there are not many details available about his release and it’s hard to assume the reason behind this decision. We’ll keep you posted if any other details come to light.
