The former American Ninja Warrior who signed with WWE in January of 2018 has reportedly handed in her notice to the promotion. According to a report from Squared Circle Sirens, sources within NXT say Catanzaro suffered a back injury recently and has decided to stop wrestling.
“Sources tell us that Kacy suffered a back injury and decided to stop wrestling afterward,” the report reads. She had wrestled 55 matches in WWE dating back to April of 2018, with most of her matches coming on the NXT live event tour. Catanzaro also competed in the 2019 Royal Rumble match.
Kacy Catanzaro Leaving WWE
On an episode of Lillian Garcia’s podcast form this April, Ricochet spoke about how he met Catanzaro and how quickly she had been picking up pro-wrestling over the last year.
“She was always so nice and kind, and helpful to everybody in any way that she could be, and that was something that I had always admired about her,” he said.
“On top of that, as far as the physical part of the wrestling, she got that part so quick and is just so fun to see in the ring. I feel like, not only me, but everyone is drawn to her because she has this personality that you can’t ignore. It’s awesome.”
