Eric Bischoff’s WWE NXT Debut Sets the Stage for Deadline

Eric Bischoff, the legendary former leader of WCW and WWE Hall of Famer, made his highly anticipated debut on WWE NXT during the December 3 episode. Known for his revolutionary impact on pro wrestling and his knack for controversy, Bischoff added star power to the show as he brought his trademark charisma to the second hour. This special episode also promised an appearance by another Hall of Famer, Sean Waltman (X-Pac), to further excite fans.

Bischoff’s segment opened with him addressing the crowd and reflecting on his storied career, highlighting his role in reshaping the wrestling industry. He expressed admiration for NXT, stating that walking through its doors gave him the same excitement he once felt at the height of his career.

To cap off his appearance, Bischoff introduced Trick Williams and Ridge Holland, competitors in the NXT Title match set for this weekend’s NXT Deadline 2024 premium live event. The tension between Williams and Holland quickly escalated during their promo exchange. While Bischoff praised both athletes, Holland dismissed Williams as a “stand-up comedian with abs,” prompting Trick to retaliate by labeling Holland as dull and uninspiring.

The verbal clash turned physical when Holland called Trick “soft,” leading Williams to throw the first punch. The confrontation spilled outside the ring, where Holland delivered a brutal DDT to Williams on the announce table, delivering such damage to the champion that he was transported to a local hospital.

The Don In WWE NXT

It’s not just in his personal life where D’Angelo is reaching new heights. The Don is the reigning NXT North American Champion, after ending the record-long reign of Oba Femi on the October 8, show in St. Louis. D’Angelo retained the gold against Femi at NXT Halloween Havoc in a Tables, Ladders, and Scares Match.

D’Angelo’s most recent defense took place on this week’s WWE NXT where he defended the gold against Shawn Spears. We here at SEScoops would like to extend our congratulations on D’Angelo and Isabella as they embark on their future together as newlyweds.

Eric Bischoff Crashes WWE NXT: ‘Next Week, I’m Coming to NXT’

Former WCW President Eric Bischoff has announced that he’ll be making the trip to Orlando for an in-person appearance at next week’s episode of NXT.

This week’s episode of the Black & Silver show featured Trick Williams in a segment where he talked about his upcoming Deadline title defence against Ridge Holland. Holland later came out to deliver some words of his own.

The segment didn’t end with just the two of them, however, and Eric Bischoff appeared on the Titan Tron to address both the stars. The wrestling veteran revealed that he’ll be attending next week’s episode of the show in person to test both the NXT talents:

“Now, Trick, you’re right. Things have been very chaotic in NXT, and I really enjoyed it. But next week, I want to get a closer look because next week, I’m coming to NXT.

Ridge, you want the NXT title so bad? Trick, you want to keep it, right? Well, we’re going to find out how bad. What makes both you guys tick? If you think tensions are high right now, by the time I’m done, you guys are going to want to destroy each other at Deadline. Hell, maybe right there in the room. See you next week.”

Ridge Holland originally won the title shot by defeating Andre Chase on the November 19 episode of the show. The loss not only cost Andre the title opportunity but his Chase U faction was also forced to disband after it.

The NXT Deadline event will be taking place from The Armory in Minneapolis, Minnesota on Saturday, December 7.

Gigi Dolin Returns To WWE NXT With Attack On Fatal Influence

Gigi Dolin made her long-awaited return during the latest episode of WWE NXT, and is back to war with former ally Jacy Jayne. In the show’s main event, Fatal Influence’s Fallon Henley defended her NXT Women’s North American Championship against Tatum Paxley. After the match, Dolin returned and attacked the faction that consists fo Henley, Jayne, and Jazmyn Nyx.

Dolin had been out of action since March with a knee injury and made her return to action last weekend at a NXT live event. She and Jayne competed as part of Toxic Attraction for years before Jayne turned on Dolin in February 2023.

Dolin’s return adds a new layer of intrigue to the NXT women’s division, which has gone from strength to strength in recent months. We’ve seen the arrival of top-tier talent including Stephanie Vaquer, Giulia, and most recently Zaria, all of whom have made an impact since debuting. Dolin isn’t the only recent return as Nikkita Lyons also made her return following an injury, exciting fans of the Lionness.

Now, Dolin is back and is ready to carve her own place in the stacked NXT women’s division. With Fatal Influence holding the NXT Women’s North American Champion, it may be just a matter of time before Gigi Dolin finds herself in a match with championship implications.

Shawn Michaels Gets Physical On NXT After Backstage Brawl

Shawn Michaels showed that he is in charge after a chaotic segment on this week’s episode of NXT on the CW from the WWE Performance Center.

This week’s episode of the company’s development show featured a backstage segment with General Manager Ava. She addressed the individuals who have lost their Iron Survivor qualifying matches over the course of the last few weeks. She announced that all the competitors would get one more chance to make the PPV card in Last Chance matches for both women’s and men’s sides next week.

Eddy Thorpe who lost his qualifying match to one-half of the current NXT Tag Team Champions Nathan Frazer was not pleased with the announcement. A number of tag teams have come out to brawl with the current champions during his bout last week. The NXT star tried to argue that he only lost the match because of interference but Eva said that she had given him everything he wanted. As the General Manager tried to leave, Eddy grabbed her hand to keep the conversation going.

A fight broke out between Bronco Nima and Mark Coffey at the same time. Bronco shoved Coffey into the door which in turn knocked out Ava who was entering the medical area. Shawn Michaels and other officials quickly ran down to check on the authority figure. Michaels was not pleased when Thorpe tried to explain himself and the WWE Hall of Famer shoved the young star against a garage door.

NXT Deadline will be taking place from The Armory in Minneapolis, Minnesota on Saturday, December 7. A total of 4 matches have been confirmed for the show till now. Apart from the Men’s and Women’s Iron Survivor Challenge matches, the event will feature Trick Williams defending the NXT title against Ridge Holland. Axiom and Nathan Frazer will also be defending the tag titles but their opponents are yet to be determined.

Gigi Dolin Returns To Action After 8 Months At NXT Live Event

NXT star Gigi Dolin has returned to action after spending most of 2024 on shelf due to an unfortunate knee injury.

Dolin had been out of action since March this year. Her last match before the injury came during the March 12 episode of NXT where the female star lost a singles bout to Arianna Grace.

The 27-year-old finally returned to action during Friday’s NXT Live Event from Lakeland, FL. She came out after Cora Jade claimed that no one was strong enough to challenge her. Gigi Dolin then pinned Jade in her return match to pick up the victory:

Gigi Dolin In NXT

Dolin took part in the 2018 Mae Young Classic and was signed to a contract in 2021. Before her WWE signing, she made a couple of appearances for AEW as well.

Prior to her injury, the NXT star was involved in a storyline with Arianna Grace who wanted to give her a makeover. Gigi was supposed to get the makeover after she lost the bout to Grace but the storyline was dropped due to her hiatus.

In her absence, NXT has brought on names such as Giulia, Zaria, and Stephanie Vaquer. There is no word on when Gigi Dolin will make her return to TV but it’s sure that things will not be easy for her whenever she makes her on screen comeback.

Andre Chase’s Emotional Farewell as Chase U Falls on WWE NXT

This week’s episode of WWE NXT delivered a gut-wrenching blow as Andre Chase faced Ridge Holland in a high-stakes match with serious implications. Victory for Chase meant a shot at Trick Williams’ NXT Championship at the upcoming Deadline event on December 7. However, defeat would mark the end of the beloved Chase University faction.

Fans were stunned when Holland emerged victorious. Fans were left reeling as the faction, led by Chase with the support of Duke Hudson, Riley Osborne, and Thea Hail, crumbled despite their best efforts to intervene.

Chaos erupted when Riley Osborne attempted a high-risk dive at Ridge Holland but inadvertently struck Thea Hail, leaving her incapacitated. The distraction proved costly, as Holland capitalized and secured the win, effectively dissolving Chase U and leaving the NXT Universe stunned.

In the aftermath, Chase shared an emotional farewell on social media.

“And I guess that’s the TEACHABLE MOMENT… You guys never needed me. I was the one who always needed y’all. Thank you for everything. I wouldn’t be here without you. ??”

– Andre Chase

The heartfelt message highlighted the deep connection Chase U had fostered with fans over the years. While the end of the faction marked a bitter chapter, Chase’s words served as a reminder of the unique bond that made Chase U a cornerstone of NXT programming.

For Thea Hail, who took a hard hit during the match, the physical toll reflected the emotional weight of the loss felt by Chase U loyalists everywhere. Though the group’s future remains uncertain, the impact of their journey will resonate long beyond this fateful night.

Giulia Sets Sights on Rhea Ripley, Discusses Transition To The U.S.

WWE NXT Superstar Giulia may have only recently arrived in the silver brand, but the Japanese sensation already has her eyes on the main roster. Speaking to Bully Ray on Busted Open After Dark, Giulia shared who she plans to face in WWE.

“I want to wrestle the Japanese girls and Rhea Ripley. I love Rhea Ripley.”

Giulia may have to wait some time before she gets the chance to face Ripley as WWE reportedly has huge plans for her in NXT’s women’s division. On this week’s WWE NXT, Giulia vowed to become this year’s Women’s Iron Survivor winner at NXT Deadline. Ripley also had a huge week as ‘Mami’ returned from injury on Raw to attack Liv Morgan and will join Bianca Belair, Jade Cargill, Naomi, and IYO SKY in WarGames.

Transitioning to America

After being seen in the crowd at Stand & Deliver, Giulia made her official NXT debut at No Mercy after making a massive name for herself in Japan. On the podcast, Giulia contrasted her time competing in Japan to the United States.

“[It’s] Very different, the style, all different. Here [it is] very important, the TV program. There [they] don’t have TV program. Also, the audience [is] so different.”

Whether it’s in the United States or Japan, Giulia is continuing to win over audiences around the world as the ‘Beautiful Madness.’ Stay tuned to SEScoops for the latest on Giulia as she has big plans for NXT and beyond now she’s part of WWE.

Ridge Holland Secures NXT Title Shot, Ends Chase U Faction

NXT faction Chase U has been forced to disband after Ridge Holland won the high-stakes main event match against Andre Chase at the November 19 episode of the show.

The latest episode of the Black & Silver show featured the two NXT stars battling for a shot at Trick Williams’ NXT Championship in the main event. The stakes were higher for Chase as he was also putting the future of his group on the line.

Holland grabbed a chair at one point in the match but the referee stopped him from using it on Andre. As the referee was busy disposing of the chair, however, Ridge delivered a low blow to Chase and connected with a Cradle DDT.

As the former The Brawling Brutes member went for the pin, Duke Hudson and Thea Hail appeared at the ringside. Hudson pulled the referee from the ring. He then looked to send Holland crashing through the exposed concrete floor.

Holland came back with some offense and he sent Hudson crashing through the NXT set. Riley Osborne finally came out to help his team as well but he inadvertently ended up taking Hail out while leveling Holland with a top rope splash.

Ridge Holland then took out Osborne by sending him through the concrete floor and put his focus back on Andre Chase. The ending of the bout saw Chase attempting a crossbody but Holland countered it into a cradle DDT for the pin.

The commentators confirmed that after this match, Chase U will be forced to disband while Holland will challenge Williams for the NXT title at the Deadline event.

The upcoming NXT event taking place from The Armory in Minneapolis, MN on December 7 will also feature the Men’s and Women’s Iron Survivor Challenge match.

Rob Van Dam Praises WWE’s Renewed Focus on Legends

WWE Hall of Famer Rob Van Dam has stated that he feels WWE is focusing more on the legends now and he’s glad that they are being acknowledged.

Several legends alongside Rob Van Dam have appeared in WWE recently. NXT held its November 6th edition of the weekly show at the famous 2300 Arena and it featured the return of several ECW originals.

During Busted Open Radio, Rob Van Dam said that it was “an awesome time to be a legend” in WWE. He explained how WWE has been acknowledging the legends more in recent times. He said:

“It’s an awesome time to be a legend because WWE has come around to where they’re focusing more, putting energy on those who laid the ground before us, and that’s important, and it’s really changed the business for people like you and me, Tommy [Dreamer], and many of our peers. It’s really changed in a good way. Just a few years ago, I don’t even know if the wrestles knew who used to do it before them because you just tap into your ego so much to get into this job that you’re thinking of me and nobody else.”

Rob Van Dam believes that more legends are likely to make appearances often rather than just nostalgic cameos. He further stated that the veterans will receive more love and acknowledgment for their valuable contributions to the business.

“But to take a moment and say, ‘Hey, let’s show some respect,’ it goes a long way. It’s a really good time to be a legend. The legends, I feel like they’re gonna be popping up a lot, doing more work, more promotions, be part of the show more, and I love it. I love history. I love how it adds depth, as opposed to erasing the history and acting like it didn’t exist…I do feel like very much like I keep saying, moving forward, even if it’s just on the royalty deals for the legend deals or whatever, I just think it’s gonna be a good year for the legends. They’re gonna get a lot of love and acknowledgment for what they’ve done, and that’s really important.”

‘The Whole F’n Show,’ recently revealed that he has been on a Legends deal with WWE and had also made an appearance on the October 29th edition of WWE NXT.

At NXT 2300, Rob Van Dam was involved in a backstage segment with Kelani Jordan, who was practicing RVD’s signature pre-match stretch which is a split on two folding chairs. Later that night, Wes Lee assaulted him backstage. However, the ECW legend avenged the attack by costing Lee his match against Je’Von Evans.

Giulia & Stephanie Vaquer vs. Meta-Four Tag Match Added to WWE NXT

WWE has announced Giulia and Stephanie Vaquer taking on Meta-Four members Jakara Jackson and Lash Legend for this week’s NXT on The CW.

This follows last week’s NXT main event where Giulia and Vaquer successfully fended off an interference attempt by Jackson and Legend during the big women’s match at NXT 2300. Jackson and Legend recently appeared in the main roster’s Women’s Tag Team title match at Crown Jewel.

Tuesday’s NXT will also feature:

• Fallon Henley defending her NXT Women’s North American Championship against Kelani Jordan.

• Iron Survivor Challenge qualifiers: Wes Lee vs. Cedric Alexander and Cora Jade vs. Sol Ruca.

• Nikkita Lyons vs. Adriana Rizzo.

• A segment with Ava to determine the next challengers for Nathan Frazer and Axiom’s NXT Tag Team titles.

Iron Survivor Challenge Qualifiers & More Set For 11/12 WWE NXT

The road to WWE NXT Deadline will begin in earnest on the upcoming episode of WWE NXT, with two Iron Survivor Challenge qualifying matches announced. On X, WWE NXT GM Ava shared that Wes Lee will face Cedric Alexander in a Men’s Qualifying match, while Cora Jade will take on Sol Ruca for a spot in the Women’s match.

The Iron Survivor Challenge

The Iron Survivor Challenge is a 25-minute match featuring five Superstars, two of which start the match. A new entrant enters every five minutes, with the winner being the Superstar who scores the most points, earned by pinfall or submission. While those entering the match later have less time to score points, they’re also considerably fresher than those who started the match.

Roxanne Perez and Grayson Waller won the inaugural matches in 2022, earning a shot at the NXT Women’s title and NXT title respectively. Perez’s victory would lead to her first reign as NXT Women’s Champion, ending the 413-day reign of Mandy Rose. Blair Davenport and Trick Williams on their matches in 2023.

WWE’s Charlie Dempsey Set for Return to Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport XII Against AKIRA

WWE NXT Heritage Cup Champion Charlie Dempsey is set to return to Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport for his third appearance.

Dempsey first competed at Bloodsport X, securing a win against Matt Makowski, but lost to Royce Isaacs at Bloodsport XI. He will face AKIRA at Bloodsport XII, with both competitors aiming to recover from recent defeats in the tournament.

Bloodsport, known for its unique and gritty MMA-influenced format, has previously featured several WWE-affiliated talents, and Dempsey’s participation highlights WWE’s current openness to cross-promotional appearances.

Charlie Dempsey vs. Akira takes place on Sunday, November 24, 2024 at Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport XII, presented by Game Changer Wrestling. The event streams live on Triller from Jersey City, NJ.

Nunzio Fine With NXT 2300 Match Getting Cut Short: ‘I’m Not Paid by the Hour’

Former ECW star Nunzio was part of Wednesday’s NXT 2300 from the famous former ECW Arena and he challenged Tony D’Angelo for the NXT North American Championship. However, things didn’t go as per the plan as he couldn’t dethrone the champ. Moreover, the match duration was also reduced.

Nunzio and Tony Mamaluke had a FBI reunion on the show and were among several ECW originals who returned. They shared a backstage moment with Tony D’Angelo and family which led to the title match. However, the championship bout went just a couple of minutes.

Speaking on Busted Open Radio, Nunzio spoke about the NXT locker room environment and also reflected on competing in a title match that went a little shorted than what he expected. Here is what Nunzio said:

“I thought it was great. I actually went with Francine. She didn’t really know anybody and was like, ‘I want to go with you.’ I said, ‘Honestly, I know who they are but I don’t know anybody either.’ Everybody was very nice and respectful. I talked to a few guys and always try to help out with a couple of matches. I talked to some people, trying to get my own match going. A little shorter than I wanted. Some people went over and stuff. I’m not paid by the hour. Take the minutes off, it’s okay. I love when they say that, ‘I’m sorry I cut your two.’ Okay, so I do three. It’s what you do in that five or six minutes.”

In the final moments on the match, The Family’s Luca Crusifino distracted the referee while Channing “Stacks Lorenzo” handed a crowbar to D’Angelo. The champ threw the weapon towards Nunzio and the referee thought he was about to use it.

However, the ref then snatched then weapon. This allowed D’Angelo to capitalize during the chaos and planted the 52-year-old star with a delayed chokeslam to earn the win. Following the match The Family and FBI embraced and showed respect to each other to end the segment.
