The main event of NXT Halloween Havoc 2024 is set to be a Devil’s Playground Match between Trick Williams and Ethan Page for the NXT Championship. This match type allows for no disqualifications, ensuring a chaotic and unpredictable encounter.

Trick Williams, having recently regained the championship from Ethan Page, is expected to retain his title due to his current momentum and storyline development.

The unpredictability of a Devil’s Playground Match means anything can happen, but Williams’ recent performances suggest he will emerge victorious.

NASCAR Champion Cole Custer Can’t Wait To Return To NXT After (10/22) Appearance

At this week’s WWE NXT, NASCAR Xfinity Series Champion Cole Custer did more than just appear, as he helped Hank Walker and Tank Ledger defeat OTM (Bronco Nima and Lucien Price. After the match, he joined Lola Vice for a dance in the ring, in a fun moment for the racing star.

In a WWE NXT Digital Exclusive, Custer spoke about his NXT experience and had praise for Walker and Ledger’s work in the squared circle.

“Getting to know Hank and Tank and everything involved here, I mean, those guys are so incredible, how they’re flying around the ring. Learning everything today was just absolutely insane. So it was awesome to have this collaboration.”

When asked about his dancing skills with Vice, Custer said someone joked that he’d end up on Dancing With The Stars, though he didn’t see it happening. Custer concluded by discussing his upcoming race in Homestead for which his car receive an NXT design.

“We race in Homestead, Miami, this weekend, and we have NXT on the car, got Trick Williams on the hood, so it’s really cool. Really cool collaboration with CW and NXT.”

Custer is “looking forward to coming back” to WWE NXT after his “unreal experience” at this week’s show. While it’s unclear when he’ll be back, his presence at this week’s show only highlights NXT’s growing mainstream appeal as part of the CW.

Stay tuned to SEScoops for all the latest from WWE NXT, including live results and breaking news from this weekend’s Halloween Havoc event.

Nikkita Lyons & Oba Femi Tease Alliance (And More?) On WWE NXT

Earlier this month, Oba Femi’s record-long reign as WWE NXT North American Champion came to an end at the hands of ‘The Don’ Tony D’Angelo. The Ruler aims to regain the gold this weekend at WWE NXT Halloween Havoc, and Femi may have found himself an unlikely ally along the way.

During the October 22 WWE NXT, Adriana Rizzo suffered a beatdown backstage. Later on in the night, Nikkita Lyons was revealed to be the attacker and Femi approached her in the middle of her conversation. The pair shared a look, before Femi handed Lyons her coat, and made clear he was thankful to know her. The pop from the NXT crowd certainly suggested that those in attendance believe something is going on between The Ruler and the Lioness.

On social media, fans quickly suggested that there is something going on between the two:

Lyons only recently returned to WWE NXT after being out of action for the majority of this year with an injury she suffered mere weeks after returning from a previous injury. Early in her career, she had to be removed from the NXT Women’s Breakout Tournament of 2022 after suffering a partial MCL tear and an MCL sprain.

Now, the Lioness, once considered a potential top female Superstar in WWE NXT, is back, and her teased involvement with Oba Femi has raised a lot of eyebrows. Stay tuned to SEScoops for all the latest on these two Superstars and how their alliance could affect the NXT North American Title match this weekend at Halloween Havoc.

Daniel Garcia Says Jokes About NXT Female Talents Over His Potential WWE Move “Undermines” Them

Daniel Garcia is not joining NXT anytime soon but he has addressed the jokes surrounding his rumored NXT move.

Fans had been speculating that Garcia could jump ship to WWE and join NXT following his defeat to MJF at AEW All Out 2024. However, he recently made it clear that he is not parting ways with AEW and even signed a new contract with the promotion.

As Daniel Garcia’s contract with AEW was running out, fans joked that he should join NXT due to the attractive women at WWE’s Performance Center. Speaking on the South Kongress podcast, Garcia stated that he understood why people found it funny. However, he feels that it undermined how talented NXT is. He showered praise on WWE’s developmental brand whose roster is stacked with a plethora of talents. Daniel Garcia said:

“I get why people think it was funny and it kept blowing up and people kept sending me things. To me, it completely undermines how great NXT is. I feel like NXT right now is hot, it’s on fire, they have such great talent, men and women, international talent from all over the world. People of all different experience levels.

When people kept saying I’m just going to sign there because there are a bunch of attractive women, I think it undermines the work rate, the talent of the entire roster. They have a great roster on their hands. They’re doing a bunch of great things over there. It undermines and takes away from what they’re doing over there.”

Daniel Garcia is set to join forces with Private Party (Zay & Quen) and face Jack Perry & The Young Bucks (Matthew Jackson & Nicholas Jackson) on this week’s edition of AEW Dynamite.

AEW Should Embrace The Ambience Of Smaller Venues

It’s near serendipitous that NXT went up against AEW Dynamite two weeks ago considering the two brands once competed for television supremacy. While AEW won that initial ‘piss-ant’ battle back in 2019, NXT dominated Tony Khan’s company in the ratings going mono-a-mono in 2024.

Granted, AEW was saddled with Tuesday night instead of Wednesday, but the numbers for Dynamite were extremely jarring even for a day change. NXT finally won the face-off, but if AEW were to parse through the tea leaves, there’s a bit more AEW could garner from their longtime rival.

NXT had grandiose plans for their second episode on The CW as the black and gold brand aimed to put the show on at The Enterprise Center, home of the St. Louis Blues. However, ticket sales weren’t up to standards and WWE decided to pivot by moving the show over to The Factory at The District.

The venues have quite the difference in capacity. The Enterprise Center houses over 18,000 while The Factory slices that in sixths, seating only 3,000. It is an absolute downgrade, but ultimately the product benefitted from the change.

With a smaller venue, you obviously fill the seats easier and it creates a more intimate aesthetic to your television presentation. Courtesy of The Factory’s website, the venue already sets up a unique set-up, touting an “industrial style” as it “takes cues from old factories and manufacturing spaces with appointments like weathered wood, open metalwork stairs, exposed brick, industrial lighting fixtures and polished concrete.”

WWE was cagey enough to understand the limitations that a big venue would present and embraced the downgrade, which in turn, upgraded the episode. NXT pulled a page from Paul Heyman book of ECW in so many ways by downplaying their weakness (not a big audience) and playing to its strengths (the intimacy of the venue). Back in his “extreme” swing, Heyman was well-aware that it’s better to turn 1,500 away than make that 1,500 try to fill a 3,500-seated arena.

If WWE makes the decision to continue NXT on the road, they’ll likely be more cognizant of how much attraction value the brand currently has. The hope would be to build to those bigger venues once again, but NXT likely realized that they need to build those stars again to the Triple H operation days. AEW should very much get the jump on them, but NXT is reportedly a step ahead by booking the original ECW arena for the month of November.

Yes, Wembley and ALL IN is a tent-pole event for AEW that speaks to the potential reach of the All Elite brand, but domestically, it’s been a different story for All Elite Wrestling. The company has encountered low ticket sales and sparse audiences. However, the fans that do go to the show are typically rapid and invested.

The week before their “black Tuesday”, AEW came to Pittsburgh and played at the Peterson Events Center. “The Pete” is not where Sidney Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins hoisted four Stanley Cups, but it is were the University of Pitt Panthers struggle to remain relevant as a collegiate basketball team (Pitt basketball used to be good, but the arena itself is still very nice). The place was packed and the crowd kept the energy up for the majority of the show.

It’s a new era for the company considering the television deal and a key aspect of making each episode feel special is to make the venue and the crowd you’re playing to feel special. Embrace the ambience, make the most of your environment. If you do that right, pair it up with sensical storylines, then those environments will grow. Consistency of all that will put more butts in those seats.

Cora Jade Dog Shares Passing Of Her Dog After Being Struck By Car

WWE NXT Superstar Cora Jade is mourning the loss of her dog Stitch who went missing hours before dying this week. On X, Jade shared the heartbreaking news with her followers that her dog had gone missing and hoped someone could reunite her with her furry friend.

https://twitter.com/CoraJadeWWE/status/1847070028858118512

Unfortunately, Jade shared in an update that Stitch was hit by a car and that the driver did not stop. The NXT Superstar was appreciative that the person who found her dog was able to contact her and care for Stitch in his final moments.

This tragedy comes mere weeks after Cora Jade made her return to NXT during the brand’s debut on The CW Network. During the show’s premiere episode on the network, Jade aided Roxanne Perez in her successful NXT Women’s Title defense against Giulia. Jade has explained her alliance with Perez as being on board with the new heel attitude of The Prodigy. The 23-year-old had been out of action since January of this year after she tore her ACL during an NXT Live Event match against Lyra Valkyria.

Jade and Perez have been at odds with Giulia and the recently-debuted Stephanie Vaquer in recent weeks, guaranteeing all four women a prominent role on WWE NXT programming. In her personal life though, Cora Jade is evidently struggling, and we at SEScoops would like to offer our condolences at this sad time.

Shawn Michaels Picks Brad Pitt To Play Young HBK In Biopic Movie

Shawn Michaels spent his in-ring career known as the ‘Sexy Boy’ and the WWE Hall of Famer has a handsome man in mind to portray him in a movie. On Instagram, the WWE NXT roster was asked who they’d want to play them in a movie about their lives. When Michaels, the Head of NXT, was asked, he didn’t know who’d portray him today but picked Brad Pitt as his younger doppelganger.

“Young me? Brad Pitt. Old me? Uh, I don’t even want to think about it, he’s probably not with us anymore.

WWE NXT: The Movie

Michaels wasn’t the only name from WWE NXT to give his pick for the perfect movie casting. You can check out the dream casting for the WWE NXT roster below:

With the success of The Iron Claw and a Hart family movie reportedly in the works, the world of wrestling is proving to be popular on the big screen. Stay tuned to SEScoops for all the latest from WWE NXT and its continued work on its new home on the USA Network.

Get To Know DELTA, WWE NXT’s ‘Next Big Thing’

DELTA has officially signed with WWE and is set to make her debut on NXT later this month at Halloween Havoc on October 27. Now, with vignettes airing on NXT to hype her arrival, all eyes are on what the Australian powerhouse will bring to WWE’s developmental brand.

DELTA first caught WWE’s attention during their tryouts in February, held during Elimination Chamber week in Perth. After making a strong impression, she was given the opportunity to complete her scheduled matches in Australia before fully transitioning to WWE.

WWE Superstars are taking notice of DELTA’s pending arrival, with fellow Aussie Rhea Ripley naming her as someone she wants to work with.

Like many new signings, DELTA will start her WWE journey in NXT, where the women’s division continues to thrive. Her signing comes on the heels of WWE securing other top-tier talents, including Stephanie Vaquer and reports of a deal with Giulia. This trio ushers in a new era for the brand’s women’s division, and creates countless fresh match-ups with the likes of NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez and North American Champion Kelani Jordan.

Who Is DELTA?

DELTA began her wrestling career in 2019, inspired by her older brother and fellow wrestler, Dean. Her in-ring debut came on December 31, 2020, when the siblings teamed up to defeat Cyden Cornell and Savannah Summers at Riot City Wrestling (RCW).

From there, DELTA’s star continued to rise. She debuted in Melbourne City Wrestling (MCW) in 2021 and quickly made her mark, capturing the RCW Tag Team Championships. She later secured the MCW Women’s Championship twice and became the first woman to hold both the MCW Intercommonwealth Title and the RCW Championship—breaking new ground in the process.

After her WWE tryout in February, DELTA challenged Jordynne Grace for the TNA Knockouts Championship at Oceania Pro Wrestling’s H.E.R. event in April. OPW kindly shared this match in its entirety, embedded below.

In July, she had an emotional farewell match in Australia, defeating her brother at RCW’s Heavy Is The Crown. DELTA now looks forward to the next stage of her career with WWE.

With vignettes already building anticipation for her debut, NXT Halloween Havoc is shaping up to be a can’t-miss event. WWE fans should be excited, but the rest of the women’s roster might want to spend extra time at the Performance Center and sharping their skills.

Ethan Page Comments On Becoming #1 Contender for NXT title

Former NXT Champion Ethan Page has vowed to reclaim the coveted title after earning a title shot. On this week’s WWE NXT, Page defeated Je’Von Evans and Wes Lee in a triple threat match to earn a rematch at the brand’s top prize. In the final moments of the match, Evans tried to score the pinfall victory on Lee after hitting his Spinning Corkscrew Splash. However, Page snuck in a win by inning Evans with a roll-up.

Ethan Page vs. Trick Williams for the NXT Championship is now signed for NXT Halloween Havoc on Saturday, October 27. Since it’s a heated feud and a Halloween-themed show, the match will be held under Devil’s Playground rules (explained below).

The Devil is Real

Page was in a great mood after climbing his way back to the top of the mountain. He’s determined to hold the NXT Championship once more, and dropped a quote from none other than CM Punk to make his point.

“Number one contender, huh? Not too fond of that. Everyone else in this locker room would die to be called number one contender. Not me. I was so used to being called champ or the champ or champion. Face of the brand, even. Hell, I was walking around saying ‘Era of Ego’ and ‘NX-Me.’

“I plan on bringing all of those back to the repertoire, and it will happen. It’ll happen right after Devil’s Playground at Halloween Havoc. Some jackass once said, ‘The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was making you believe he didn’t exist.’ Tonight, I think I made Trick a believer. I promise you, the devil is real.”

Devil’s Playground Match

Devil’s Playground is a pro wrestling stipulation that can best be described as, anything goes. Think no-holds-barred, hardcore warfare:

  • No disqualifications: Weapons and outside interference allowed
  • No count-outs: Falls count anywhere
  • One fall to the finish: Pin, submission or referee stoppage

Ethan Page & Trick Williams’ Rivalry

Trick Williams and Ethan Page have clashed multiple times in the past. Previously ‘All Ego’ had dethroned Williams at NXT Heatwave. Page had successfully defended his title against the likes of Dante Chen, Oro Mensah, and TNA Wrestling’s Joe Hendry during his reign. Page dropped the title to Williams earlier this month on the NXT on the CW premiere. Now, these two will clash one more time at NXT’s spookiest night of the year.

Stephanie Vaquer Wins NXT Debut, Setting Up Halloween Havoc Match

On a night that marked Stephanie Vaquer’s WWE NXT in-ring debut, she also set the stage for a major tag team match later this month. During this week’s episode of NXT, Vaquer scored a quick victory over Wren Sinclair, finishing the match with her signature move.

However, following the bout, Roxanne Perez and Cora Jade launched a surprise attack on Vaquer, only for Giulia to rush out and make the save. The confrontation escalated when Giulia challenged Perez and Jade to a tag team match at Halloween Havoc, which will take place at the GIANT Center in Hershey, PA, on Sunday, October 27, 2024.

The challenge followed Jade’s recent interference in Giulia’s attempt to win the NXT Women’s Championship from Perez.

Vaquer’s NXT debut had been highly anticipated after she made waves earlier this year. She first garnered WWE’s attention when she dropped the NJPW Strong Women’s Title to Mercedes Moné at Forbidden Door in June.

Vaquer then participated in WWE house shows in Mexico this past July, solidifying her status as a top prospect in the company.

Later in the show, the match was made official:

NXT’s Oba Femi Pushes for WWE Premium Live Event in Africa

In recent years, WWE has expanded its Premium Live Events beyond North America with shows in Germany, Scotland, France, Australia, and beyond. These shows have been well-received and demonstrate that WWE is indeed in a new era post-Vince McMahon, but could the continent of Africa be next on the company’s radar?

During a recent interview with Scott Johnson on the Going Ringside podcast, Oba Femi made clear he certainly hopes so. Femi, whose record-long reign as NXT North American Champion ended this week, expressed his desire for a PLE in Africa.

“I would love to see a PLE in Africa. I feel there is a market there that has been unexplored for years. We have had live shows go to South African, but it’s much bigger than just South Africa. I feel the entire continent is riding hard for WWE.”

Femi admitted that hosting such an event won’t be easy for WWE, as he spoke of “culture shock” and a “fear of the unknown” among other factors the company will consider. Despite these issues, the Nigerian star remained confident that the crowd reaction will be worth it.

“Oh my God, I’m talking one of the hottest crowds the company has ever seen. They would go ballistic for their king [referring to himself], but they would go ballistic for everything for the product.”

Femi plans to bring up the idea to WWE management “once I gain the equity, the respect and credibility” to bring up such a topic. With Femi already making history in WWE NXT, its clear the company has big plans for him, meaning this discussion about an African PLE may be held sooner rather than later.

Mercedes Moné Shares Untold Story Behind NXT TakeOver Brooklyn Classic Against Bayley

Mercedes Moné has created iconic moments in every promotion she’s been part of, from her unforgettable NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn match with Bayley to making history in NJPW, and her notable arrival in AEW.

Moné has competed against some of the biggest names in professional wrestling across these promotions, but one match stands out above the rest—not only for the fans but for Moné herself. This was the 2015 NXT Women’s Championship match, where Bayley defeated (then known as) Sasha Banks in under 20 minutes, marking a turning point in both of their careers.

In her latest fan newsletter, the “CEO” revealed an interesting behind-the-scenes detail about this all-time classic: the two had barely any time to prepare. At the time, Mone was working full-time on the main roster and traveling for a panel with Triple H, leaving them with just five minutes to discuss the match.

Little Prep Before Their Classic

“We only had maybe five minutes to talk about our match in the ring. I wanted to tell her about this crazy spot. In truth, I didn’t even want to practice it or show her because I was afraid they’d say no—or worse, the boys would see it and take it away. Yes, that happens.

So, I just kind of told her what I wanted to do. We didn’t rehearse any of it. Yet, that match turned out to be the greatest women’s match ever.”

– Mercedes Mone on her match with Bayley from NXT Takeover: Brooklyn (2015)

Another “Great Match, No Prep”

Another match that Moné holds close to her heart was her bout against Stephanie Vaquer at this year’s AEW-NJPW Forbidden Door PPV. Moné recalls Vaquer flying in the day of the event and arriving at the venue just hours before showtime. With little time to prepare, the difficulties were compounded by their language barrier (Vaquer’s first langue is Spanish).

“That was so hard. I’m like, my God, we don’t get time to walk over our moves, we speak two different languages, and we’re both tired, jet lagged, and hungry, too. Yet, that also turned out to be such a great match. She was signed by the WWE days later. I’d like to think our match had a say in that!”

– Mercedes Moné on her mach with Stephanie Vaquer at AEWxNJPW: Forbidden Door 2024

Vaquer arrived in WWE NXT television this past week on The CW and aligned with Giulia. She’ll make her NXT in-ring debut next week against Wren Sinclair.

Emotional CM Punk Leaves WWE NXT “Humbled” By Roster He’s Inspired

Since his stunning return to WWE at Survivor Series: WarGames 2023, CM Punk has made himself a regular at WWE NXT tapings, often being spotted behind the scenes if not on the show. Punk was part of last week’s The CW premiere in Chicago, and has been humbled by the response he’s received from the silver brand.

Speaking to O’Shea Jackson Jr. and the Rich Eisen Show’s TJ Jefferson on the ‘No-Contest Wrestling’ podcast, Punk reflected on his work with NXT, where he has often been found giving advice. Punk admitted that he’s often asked for tips (as well as autographs by the young talent he’s inspired,) a process that leaves the Raw Superstar welling up.

“I go home to my wife like just completely humbled and, emotional… when kids come up to me and they’re comfortable enough to be like ‘Hey look at this’ and it’s a picture of them when they’re little at an autograph signing and they tell me ‘Hey, you inspired me to do this.’ It’s just like me getting to tell Roddy Piper ‘Hey yeah, you’re the reason I do this.’ And I don’t know if it meant anything to him but it meant something to me.”

CM Punk certainly made an impression at WWE NXT’s premiere on The CW Network, as he crowned Trick Williams the new NXT Champion with a victory over Ethan Page. Punk also treated the fans to Pizza in the Windy City, further endearing him with his hometown crowd who were already thrilled to see him.

Punk was at the latest WWE NXT in Missouri, PW Insider reports, and traveled with the talent for the show, where he once again doled out pearls of wisdom. While the Best in the World is currently taking a break from WWE TV following the effects of his Hell in a Cell showdown with Drew McIntyre, fans can expect CM Punk to keep a close eye, a teary-eyed one in fact, on the roster of WWE NXT.

This Weekend’s WWE NXT Live Events Rescheduled Due To Hurricane Milton

Two WWE NXT live events have been postponed in Florida as the state continues to be ravaged by Hurricane Milton:

  • The Friday, October 11, NXT live event at the St. Petersburg Armory has been rescheduled to Friday, December 20 at the same venue.
  • The Saturday, October 12, NXT live event has been moved to Saturday, November 2.

All tickets that were already purchased for this weekend’s shows will be honored on the rescheduled dates.

Wrestling with the Weather

These moved NXT live events are the latest wrestling shows to be impacted by ongoing harsh weather battering the United States. Last month, TNA Wrestling was forced to postpone a set of tapings from the Spartanburg Memorial Auditorium in Spartanburg, South Carolina. The company’s ‘Road to BFG’ tapings instead took place in Nashville, with proceeds going to the Hurricane Helene Relief Efforts in Spartanburg. MLW was forced to cancel its October 4, event due to Hurricane Helene, with ticket holders receiving full and immediate refunds.

The stars of professional wrestling are doing what they can to help those affected by the weather. A GoFundMe set up by Cash Wheeler has reached over $69,000 in donations with huge amounts given by Tony Khan, Chris Jericho, Bayley, Orange Cassidy, and others. On Busted Open Radio, Adam Copeland shared that Tony Khan has been aiding the Asheville Police Department by sending Starlinks to help in the rescue of those in need.

The recent Hurricanes in Florida have sadly cost lives and devastated countless individuals. While fans would love to see the NXT roster in action this week, ultimately, the safety of the roster and the fans come before anything else.

Randy Orton Sees Bright Future For Je’Von Evans After WWE NXT Match

On the October 8, edition of WWE NXT, Randy Orton returned to St. Louis to battle Je’Von Evans, in only Orton’s second-ever match as part of the brand. In the end, the Viper was able to drop the Young OG with an RKO in a high-profile match that was part of NXT’s head-to-head efforts with AEW Dynamite: Title Tuesday.

In a WWE NXT Digital Exclusive, Orton shared his excitement to be back in his hometown and was thrilled he had the chance to work with Evans.

“I got to work with an incredible talent tonight, only 20 years old. You know him, he’s bouncy, Je’Von Evans. Dude, I’m very excited to see where he goes in the future. He’s gonna be around for as long as he wants to be.”

Despite their very different in-ring styles, Orton shared that he and Evans have a lot in common when asked for advice for the Young OG.

“I think that he needs to keep doing what he’s doing. But what I noticed first and foremost after meeting him for the first time today, he’s incredibly humble, he has nothing but respect for the business and the guys like me, the old fuddy-duddies that have been here for over 20 years, and you know what, that means a lot.”

Evans may not have won this week, but sharing the ring with a 14-time former WWE World Champion is another feather in the cap of the 20-year-old NXT prodigy. With high-profile matches already under his belt, and now Orton’s endorsement, the future, however long it may be, certainly looks bright for Je’Von Evans.

Tony D’Angelo Ends Oba Femi’s Historic NXT North American Title Reign

Tony D’Angelo shocked the WWE Universe on Tuesday’s episode of WWE NXT by stepping up to challenge Oba Femi for the North American Title. This highly anticipated bout was part of an already stacked card.

Just days after Femi celebrated becoming the longest-reigning North American Champion in WWE history, his reign suddenly ended. Heading into the match, D’Angelo acknowledged his fear of Femi, who had previously defeated him at No Mercy. However, in their rematch, D’Angelo trapped Femi in a pin, securing the victory and ending Femi’s dominant run.

D’Angelo, already a two-time NXT Tag Team Champion and Heritage Cup winner, now adds the prestigious North American Title to his accolades.

Femi’s Title Reign

Oba Femi made history by surpassing Wes Lee’s 269-day record as North American Champion. He initially captured the title in January during an episode of NXT, cashing in his NXT Breakout Tournament contract to defeat Dragon Lee. Over the course of his reign, Femi successfully defended the title ten times, defeating notable competitors such as Lee, Ivar, Otis, Dijak, Josh Briggs, Lexis King, and Joe Coffey, among others.

Stephanie Vaquer Debuts In WWE NXT

Stephanie Vaquer, real name Ana Stephanie Vaquer González, has officially made her arrival in WWE NXT. After leaving CMLL and NJPW, Vaquer chose WWE over interest from AEW. She made her NXT TV debut on Tuesday’s episode during a segment featuring NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez and Cora Jade. This came just a week after Jade returned from injury to help Perez retain her title against Giulia.

During the segment, Giulia introduced Vaquer as an “old friend,” marking the new recruit’s first official appearance. The scene quickly escalated into a brawl between the heels and the babyfaces, with Vaquer standing tall alongside Perez and Jade to close out the segment.

Vaquer’s Path to WWE

Stephanie Vaquer first caught WWE’s attention after she dropped the NJPW Strong Women’s Title to Mercedes Moné at Forbidden Door in June. She later participated in a WWE house show loop in Mexico in July, which further solidified her standing as a top prospect.

Despite the hype surrounding her, Vaquer has not competed in a match since then.

What Happened Last Week on NXT

Catch up on the ‘Top 10 Moments’ from last week’s NXT on The CW premiere:

Rhea Ripley Teases a Showdown with DELTA Ahead of WWE NXT Debut

As one of the biggest stars in WWE, Rhea Ripley has worked with some of the company’s top names from Becky Lynch to Charlotte Flair, to Asuka. Now, Ripley is excited about the arrival of her fellow Australian wrestler DELTA who is coming to NXT.

On a recent episode of UpUpDownDown, Ripley revealed that DELTA is at the top of her list of competitors she’s eager to face.

“I mean, I feel like I have to say DELTA. I haven’t stepped in the ring with her, and she came after my time in Australia, so I think it’d be cool to meet up in NXT.”

DELTA has yet to officially debut for WWE, but a vignette teasing her arrival aired on this week’s episode of NXT on The CW. Her debut is expected at NXT Halloween Havoc later this month given that the vignette had the numbers 10 and 27, a nod to the show’s date of October 27. DELTA tried out for WWE earlier this year during the Elimination Chamber weekend festivities in Perth, Australia.

As for Ripley, she failed to regain the Women’s World Championship at WWE Bad Blood from her rival Liv Morgan. The interference of the returning Raquel Rodriguez meant that while Ripley won the match by disqualification, it was Morgan who left Atlanta with the gold. This latest twist suggests the Ripley-Morgan rivalry will continue, with Ripley now having to deal with Rodriguez as she aims to reclaim the title.

Oba Femi Makes History, Now The Longest Reigning WWE NXT North American Champion

Since arriving in WWE, Oba Femi has been a force to be reckoned with as the Nigerian uses his size and strength to dominate in the ring. This week, Femi added a huge accolade to his resume by becoming the longest-reigning NXT North American Champion.

Femi has surpassed Wes Lee, who held the gold for 269 days from NXT Halloween Havoc 2022 to the July 18, 2023, edition of WWE NXT, where he lost the gold to ‘Dirty’ Dominik Mysterio. Femi’s own reign began on the January 9, 2024, edition of WWE NXT, where he cashed in his NXT Breakout Tournament victory to earn a match with then-champion Dragon Lee.

Femi’s reign has seen him retain against both Wes Lee and Dragon Lee, as well as NXT regulars like Duke Hudson, Joe Coffey, Brooks Jensen, and Lexis King. Not only satisfied with the NXT roster, Femi has also retained against main roster talent including Viking Raider Ivar and Alpha Academy’s Otis.

Oba Femi’s push so far in NXT has shown that WWE’s creative team is firmly behind the Nigerian star, whose future with the promotion, both in NXT and on the main roster, looks incredibly bright. On the upcoming WWE NXT in St. Louis, Femi will defend his title against Tony D’Angelo, the man Femi bested at NXT No Mercy last month.

Will Femi continue his historic reign with another victory over D’Angelo, or will The Don finally overcome the man who has continued to have the number of him and his family? Stay tuned to SEScoops for the latest from WWE NXT and the record-breaking reign of the NXT North American Champion.

Shawn Michaels Hopes For “Long-Standing Relationship” Between NXT & TNA Wrestling

In 2024, the partnership of WWE NXT and TNA Wrestling has provided exciting moments and matches, in addition to demonstrating how different WWE is post-Vince McMahon. TNA was once again represented on this week’s launch of WWE NXT on The CW, and this partnership could be one fans could witness for years to come, according to Shawn Michaels.

Speaking with The Ringer, Michaels gushed about NXT’s work with TNA Wrestling, and hopes that what we’ve seen is just the beginning.

“I look at this and hope it is a long-standing relationship… we’re enjoying this partnership, and we’re enjoying different matchups than we thought we’d be able to see here in just a short amount of time.”

Michaels, who officially serves WWE as the Senior Vice President of Talent Development Creative, added that “nothing is off the table in WWE” and that is certainly the case in NXT. He concluded by saying that when it comes to the TNA relationship, “we want to go lower as opposed to faster.”

Jordynne Grace, Hammerstone, Joe Hendry, and The Rascalz have all come to NXT from TNA, while Tatum Paxley, Wendy Choo, Sol Ruca, and the No Quarter Catch Crew have all ‘crossed the line’ into TNA Wrestling. Stay tuned to SEScoops for all the latest on the NXT-TNA Wrestling partnership, a collaboration that fans can seemingly expect for a very long time to come.

WWE NXT’s CW Debut A Ratings Hit Against U.S. Vice Presidential Debate

This week, WWE NXT launched on The CW with a stacked two-hour show that saw top names from the silver brand as well as WWE’s main roster. With title matches and appearances by Hall of Famers, there was plenty to see in Chicago’s All-State Arena, and NXT on The CW is off to a strong start in the ratings.

WWE NXT’s debut episode on The CW drew 895,000 viewers, Wrestlenomics reports, way up on the previous episode’s 620,000 on the USA Network. This week’s number is the fifth-highest number for WWE NXT since its move to cable television back in September 2019. The last time WWE NXT did better was the October 10, 2023, episode, which did 921,000 viewers and saw the show go head-to-head with AEW Dynamite.

The launch of WWE NXT was a ratings hit despite fierce competition from the U.S. Vice Presidential debate that aired the same night. The debate between Democrat Tim Walz and Republican JD Vance scored 43.15 million viewers across 15 networks, according to The Hollywood Reporter, with 40.25 million coming from CNN, FOX News, and MNSBC.)

Wes Lee Done with The Rascalz, Focusing To Solidify His Legacy

Former NXT North American Champion Wes Lee has made it clear that he wants to focus on carving his own legacy and he has The Rascalz in the rear view.

On last night’s NXT premiere on the CW, Wes Lee emerged victorious over his former tag team partner Zachary Wentz in a Street Fight. The gruesome battle featured an array of weapons and some high-risk spots. It was ultimately Lee who stood tall over his best friend-turned-bitter rival, whom he betrayed in August.

In an NXT Exclusive clip, Wes Lee reflected on his victory and stated that he felt great after beating Wentz the way he had planned. He said:

“I feel great. I beat my brother exactly the way that I said that I would. That goes out to anybody else that thinks that they can step to me and thinks they have a chance. I have shown a level that people do not want to see me reach ever again. Stay on my good side. Period, point blank.”

The former MSK member was also asked if he was done with The Rascalz (Wentz and Trey Miguel). He made it clear that he was over with them but raised the question if they were done with him. Wes Lee then said that he was focused on building his legacy and teased that he has a couple of things in mind.

“I’m done with The Rascalz. But are The Rascalz really done with me? Because I really know how those two operate. Only time’s gonna tell. But I’m definitely focused on more things to solidify my own legacy. Got a couple things in mind.

In the final moments of the match, Wentz hesitated to hit Lee with a chair which helped Lee capitalize on the situation. He then hit a chain-assisted Meteora to secure the pinfall victory. Wes Lee’s win over Wentz appears to be the end of their rivalry as Lee has successfully exacted revenge on his arch-nemesis.
