Global Force Wrestling and Pop TV have signed a deal to keep Impact Wrestling on Pop for another year, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
While it’s good news that Impact will continue airing through 2018, GFW barely makes any money from the deal and their viewership performance wasn’t strong enough to bring in any revenue beyond a split on ad revenue from commercials that air during the broadcast.
GFW continues to run on a very tight budget, with the India and U.K. TV deals bringing in the lion’s share of the company’s revenue.
The company has been running fewer TV tapings in recent months (with more shows taped each round) and there’s no live event business to speak of.
