As we noted before, Emma and Nia Jax won a tag team match this past Monday Night and as a result, the two Raw stars will now also be the part of the Women’s Championship match at No Mercy.
However, while the addition of Nia Jax was exciting to many, Emma being added to the championship match was surprising for people as the former NXT Star hasn’t done much in the recent times to justify her spot in the bout.
Though, during the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer revealed that the company actually has a good reason to add the Raw star into this championship bout.
The Wrestling Journalist said that Emma was included in the match to protect the other three competitors, namely Sasha Banks, Alexa Bliss and Nia Jax.
While Dave didn’t clearly state it, this most likely means that Emma would end up taking the pin or tapping out to a submission during the match.
There is currently no news on if WWE is planning a title change at the upcoming Raw Exclusive PPV or Alexa Bliss will end up retaining her Championship on the show.
WWE No Mercy will take place on September 24, 2017, at Staples Center in Los Angeles, California
