Rey Mysterio was scheduled to face Jushin Thunder Liger tonight at NJPW Strong Style Evolved. Mysterio was forced to withdraw from the match after suffering a biceps injury. Mysterio still showed up at the event tonight to address the crowd.

Rey Mysterio Jr. came down to the ring before the match to address the crowd. Mysterio said that he wanted to come out here and apologize for missing the event due to a torn biceps two weeks ago.

Mysterio stated that he has respect for Liger and that he wants the match to happen in the future. Mysterio vowed to come back as soon as he is ready and wrestle for NJPW. Rey then took a seat ringside to watch the match.

Will Ospreay wound up winning the match. After the match, Ospreay stated that he wanted to carve out his own legacy by going through legends. Ospreay said that he was nobody’s replacement and challenge Rey Mysterio to a match. Marty Scurll then rushed the ring and attacked Ospreay. Scurll then hit Mysterio with a cheap shot and took off his mask. Liger came to the ring for the save and shook hands with Mysterio.
