Marty Scurll’s Ring of Honor contract is up for expirations, according to new reports.
His contract is up this November. Both SI’s Justin Barrasso and Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported the news on Tuesday.
As of this writing, there’s no word yet on if he plans to stay with the Baltimore-based promotion or tests out the free-agent market, which is the best that it has been in recent years.
The reason for that is due to several promotions such as WWE, AEW, NJPW, and ROH paying big money in order to keep or sign wrestlers.
It should be noted that Scurll is very close to several people in All Elite Wrestling and once the promotion launched back in January, there’s been speculation that he could be bound to the promotion. There have also been reports that WWE is interested in signing him.
Wherever he ends up in November, it’s safe to say that the 31-year-old will be getting paid nicely.
He’s been with ROH since August 2016 where he has been a central figure in Villain Enterprises alongside Brody King and PCO.
Scurll has been announced for the number one contender’s tournament that kicks off at the Death Before Dishonor pay-per-view on September 27th and runs through October.
The winner getting a world title shot at the Final Battle pay-per-view in November.
