As noted earlier this weekend, TNA wrestler Jeff Hardy took what appeared to be a very scary fall off the top of a steel cage, where he crashed and burned, allegedly smashing his head on the ring steps below. As the story goes, Hardy was knocked out as a result of the fall, and remained unconscious backstage after the match.
According to a report by PWInsider.com, Hardy’s fall was not an accident and was actually planned out in advance as part of a storyline.
TNA is going to use the Hardy injury angle based off of that spot as a way of explaining why he will not be traveling to the upcoming TNA U.K. tour, as he is legally not allowed to travel to the country due to a 2009 drug conviction.
TNA is planning on making the announcement after the Lockdown show airs that Hardy is injured as a way to explain why he missed several weeks of Impact Wrestling, as those shows will be taped in the United Kingdom, where Hardy is not allowed.
For those who missed the scary fall Hardy took from the cage at the TNA Lockdown taping, you can watch multiple video angles of the incident here and here.
