Former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Tito Ortiz is slated to former WWE Champion Alberto El Patron aka Alberto Del Rio.
The two stars decided to add some more intrigue to their fight that will impact them on a personal side. They have agreed to a side bet that will see Ortiz put his UFC title on the line while Patron will put his WWE Championship up for grabs when they set into the cage.
Ortiz and Patron spoke with MMA Junkie about putting their respective belts on the line.
“I want to put my belt up just because I’m a huge WWE fan, and I’ve always wanted a heavyweight world title. I’ve always wanted that heavyweight world title,” Ortiz stated.

He continued by reflecting on watching guys like Hulk Hogan and The Rock being champions. He thought to himself if he ever had the opportunity to go to the WWE, he knew that he could be world champion.
For Patron, he praised the idea while taking a shot at Ortiz’s IQ.
“To be honest, that’s a fantastic idea. I know he’s not too bright, but in this one, it was his idea. He came up with the idea, and it’s a fantastic one. I wish it would have been me that said, ‘Hey let’s put the titles on the line.’”
The fight will take on December 7th at the Payne Arena in Hidalgo, Texas, and air on pay-per-view for $39.99.
